Wu Hai (吴海, Wú Hǎi^?) is a main character in Digimon New Century. His partner is Lopmon.

He is a talented young international student from China. He comes from a family of scholars and loves programming. He has a calm and persistent personality, is very self-disciplined, and does everything in an orderly manner according to the plan. Therefore, he hates people who affect the plan by being late, which is also why he separated with Satoru Sakamoto unhappily after their first meeting. In the eyes of outsiders, Wu Hai has a talent beyond ordinary people in programming and is an out-and-out genius, but he is not good at expressing feelings, and often feels at a loss when facing the kindness of his teammates. Fiction

When Wu Hai was 9, he encountered Lopmon who fell into the human world from a crack in the Internet. In order to save the injured Lopmon, Wu Hai bought a D-Zero to crack it by himself and put Lopmon's data into the D-Zero. In order to circumvent the detection system set up by Hyuuga Technology, Wu Hai had to forcibly dismantle all security systems, but this also made Lopmon's data exposed to constant danger. In order to solve this long-standing problem, Wu Hai accepted the invitation of Hyuuga Technology to come to the virtual space. Becoming friends with Lopmon was an unforgettable memory for Wu Hai, which is also the reason why he embarked on the path of researching D-Zero and Digimon.

Wu Hai originally did not agree to join the team because of incompatibility with Satoru, though whenever the team encountered trouble afterwards, Wu Hai came to help. Wu Hai officially joined the team after he was defeated by Satoru in the Digital Competition.
