Wormmon is a Larva Digimon. It has a timid, cowardly personality. Just like Veemon and the others, it's a descendant of an ancient species, so it is able to perform special Armor Digivolutions, but since Wormmon is powerless when by itself, it can't possibly match up to larger Digimon. However, by armor digivolving with the power of the Digi-Eggs, it is able to manifest unbelievable power. Also, it is said that in order for the fragile larva to grow into a powerful imago, Wormmon will one day digivolve into a Champion overflowing with power. It can definitely be said that it is a Digimon who has hidden potential for the future.[7]

Design[]

Wormmon's design draws influence from the Tomato hornworm (Manduca quinquemaculata). It is a small green caterpillar with a pair of long antennae and ten legs with pink claws. Like a real insect, Wormmon possesses the ability to adhere to surfaces and is also able to generate silk from its purple mandibles. It has a black band resembling a Dark Ring around its abdomen and two pink spines on the end of it.

DEBUG.6-1 OASIS Unchained sends a Maquinamon to get it. When Unchained summons their group of Maquinamon, the one that had captured Wormmon was also summoned and brought the unconcious Wormmon with it. Unchained asks Wormmon if it was tough to live in LACUNA, though since it wasn't awake it also couldn't answer. Unchained laughs at how ironic it is that Digimon can't survive in LACUNA, since they were born there, and becomes determined to change the World so that Digimon could live in peace. They take one of the Maquinamon and turn it back into data — putting it inside Wormmon. This awoke Wormmon, with Unchained's next plan being to put Wormmon inside of an NPC. They open up a portal and send Wormmon out to LACUNA, who would go find an NPC to possess so that it could force the NPC to duel a player. DEBUG.6-2 Unchained Unchained hadn't told anyone about this, causing the debug team to pointlessly search for Wormmon. Since no one could find it, they assume it died. DEBUG.6-1 OASIS

Digimon Seekers ~The Crossroad Witch~[]

At some point, a Wormmon was one of the countless Digimon captured and kept prisoner inside cages by WaruMonzaemon at the Crossroads Fortress. When Shuu Yulin and Ryudamon travel there looking for BlackAgumon, they see all the caged up Digimon. Ryudamon fights WaruMonzaemon, with all of its Iai Blade attacks missing WaruMonzaemon. This was intentional though, as Ryudamon wasn't aiming for WaruMonazemon — it was aiming for the cages, with this freeing all of the captive Digimon. When WaruMonzaemon was about to kill Ryudamon, most of the freed Digimon confront it and say to let Ryudamon go. WaruMonzaemon beats all of them up, though this just causes Ryudamon to warp digivolve to Hisyaryumon and kill WaruMonzaemon. The former prisoners then thank their heroes as they leave.
