::::::Regarding Discussions posts in Recent Changes: We've deliberately decided against surfacing them there for two reasons: Discussions posts don't need the same level of supervision as article edits do, since they're temporary expressions of opinions, rather than additions to timeless, fact-based pages. Because of that, we want Recent Changes to focus on those additions to the wiki that really need detailed patrolling. The second reason is related to the first: On very active communities, Discussions are so busy and see so many posts per day (and even per hour or minute) that their activity would completely drown out editing activity on Recent Changes.
::::::There is a way to work around that, though. We have a user-made custom script you can add to your wiki that creates Special:DiscussionsFeed, a "Recent Changes" specifically for Discussions: DiscussionsFeed. Perhaps that would help? From the discussions I've seen, they're not just opinions. A lot of it is the kind of stuff we normally see on talk pages, like requests for information, attempted contributions, and requests for help. 17:46, May 29, 2018 (UTC)
:Another way to put it is that Discussions is for (and mostly contains) social chatter, while articles are for the documentation of facts. That's why article edits require an entirely different kind of supervision and management. If a user in Discussions is asking how to contribute, they're most likely one of the apps users. You can always just let them know to switch to a browser, so they can become active editors! I noticed you writing for the videos to be removed but I don't think you're going to be able to. Videos are all over other fandoms. For example, , , this is seemingly something they're doing for the most popular fandoms and there's hundreds on this Wiki. :FANDOM certainly has nothing to gain from displaying unhelpful videos with errors, and I do hope we can work with your community on improving them to the point where they become the valuable addition to the wiki they were supposed to be in the first place. Special notice: If you've come here to complain about a reversion to your edit, you should do so on the appropriate article's talk page, not here. If you are here to claim that I'm "not allowed to undo/delete your edit because wikia is free for everyone to edit", kindly familiarize yourself with the actual policies of this wiki instead of doing something that will just make me very cross with you.

Translation problem Edit

Hi, I want to ask a favor of you. I'm watching Digimon Frontier subbed version, and in episode 4, there is untranslated line. It is written in romaji like this: "furasaki atama kirumono shumi warusagi nanda". I will be grateful if you help me translate that. And second thing - narrator's voice in intro aren't subbed either - here's link to the episode I'm talking about: . Thanks. Final Cannon Talk 15:04, May 25, 2010 (UTC)

I understand intro line now, but this second sentence - no luck with this. If you have time, help me translate that. Final Cannon Talk 19:11, May 26, 2010 (UTC)

Hey Kryten? I got my scanner working and scanned some cards I had here. I was wondering about the Bandai cards like that Taomon and wanted to know if anyone had scans of those. Also, the Japanese cards are actually from a "Digital Monster Card Game Alpha Super Pack" that's in Japanese but it's like licensed or something under the Bandai Asia and the Chinese Digimon title, though the cards and pack are mostly in Japanese. The Super Pack has 40 cards of a set that it calls "初登場のTVアニメ会版デザイン" (under DMTV label) and 33 foil cards from SGDL and Four Holy Beasts (under DM and DM02). I'm not sure if you want them though, because some of the codes are different even if they're basically reprints.

Oh, and this site has newer Carddas stuff for the Bandai Asia side. Lanate (talk) 03:17, August 25, 2010 (UTC)

I have quite a few of the cards that came with the toys, and a few other TCG cards besides. However, no scanner. I'll see if I can get one soon. Otherwise, THANKS!Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 03:43, August 25, 2010 (UTC)

Aum and Hum are different, I think. Um, Kryten, I did some episode checking for Taomon's Tamers attacks, and I wanted some verification on stuff. I might've made some assumptions on Aum 'cause it was really close, and there's some notes I left on the Taomon page that probably need a second opinion. If you could look over it, I'd be grateful. Dawn/Dusk Special TechniquesEdit

Are the Dawn/Dusk Special Techniques considered actual attacks (i.e. not headered) or video game ones? Lanate (talk) 04:25, July 10, 2011 (UTC)

Honestly, I thought we weren't listing them at all, since the main system is Pokemon-style. If we are deciding to list the specials, then they would be headered. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 04:27, July 10, 2011 (UTC)
The special techniques seem based off of existing techniques though... Nvm then. Lanate (talk) 04:48, July 10, 2011 (UTC)
Responding to this waaaay late, the special techniques do act like personal attacks, so I have no objections to listing them within the main list (non-headered).Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 04:37, December 14, 2013 (UTC)

World ChampionshipEdit

In Digimon World Championship, there are some digivolutions that are activated simply by passing time, like from Nyaromon to Renamon. Since there is zero player activity required to get this evolution, it would count as a game-influenced evolution, right? Should these digivolutions be placed on the main list? Digimon World Data Squad EncyclopediaEdit

So, I got frustrated at the ??? in the encyclopedia, so I did a little bit of hacking around. I'm a complete amateur at this, so I can't do anything so sophisticated as hacking the actual ISO, but I messed around with the memory while the game was being emulated to get this beautiful screenshot. Unfortunately, all of the information save for what is shown there doesn't show up, and I don't know enough about the file system to hack the profiles themselves, so I can't tell if there is any text at all for it. But, what the hell, at least it's something (even though all of this information can be found out via deduction D:). Lanate (talk) 05:04, January 27, 2013 (UTC)

Edit: Did you know that the text in the game is unencoded? =DDDD Lanate (talk) 05:36, January 27, 2013 (UTC)
I found the attacks data, I just don't know what to make of the header information it gives, since it's in Japanese... Also, I can't figure out how the hell the Japanese game's text has been encoded. Lanate (talk) 10:41, January 27, 2013 (UTC)

Sweet, I found where they hid the attack and profile data in the Japanese disc. Apparently, the final boss got a stat boost in the English version? Lanate (talk) 23:09, January 27, 2013 (UTC)
Hell if I know. The game had an easy exploit of just lowering the enemy's str/def/spd what-have-you to 100, so every boss's stats were irrelevant beyond HP.Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 00:41, January 28, 2013 (UTC)
W00t, I finished sorting out the entire mess that was the attacks! I even included the furigana that they embedded into the Japanese version, like the fact that Kyubimon's 天狗 is supposed to be pronounced (あまつきつね). Digimon on NetflixEdit

Netflix is now streaming both Digimon Adventure and Adventure 02 on their stream service. Additionally they are both in dubbed and sub format. After finding out from this news source ([17]) I looked into it and found out that Digital Monsters is for the dubbed version and Adventure is for the subbed version with Adventure 02 marked within that cluster as Season 2. I thought I should let you know about this news as soon as I could since it can be posted as news for the main page. -Adv193 (talk) 18:08, August 4, 2013 (UTC)

The spelling mistake I corrected was chrondigizit. It is supposed to be chrome digizoid and it even redirected me to an article that has the proper spelling. Unless I'm mistaken, that was a spelling mistake. I can't find it on the internet spelled that way or on this site.

Sorry if I offended you by editing the page.

My apologies Edit

My mistake, I missed the letter o when I was trying to find it. It seems that chrondigizoit. But it sounds like Chrome Digizoid should still go in there if I take this quote from Digimon Wiki's website literally:

"Chrome Digizoid (クロンデジゾイド Kuron Dejizoido?) is a Digital World metal refined from Chrondigizoit Metal (クロンデジゾイトメタル Kurondejizoito Metaru?), itself derived from the special Huanglong Ore (ファンロン鉱 Fanron-kou?)."

It sounds like it's a double refinement process Huanglong Ore> Chrondigizoit Metal> Chrome Digizoid. So it still sounds like Chrome Digizoid is the best suited answer for it.

Beelzemon Image Edit

Oops! I sort of assumed that was the source because it was the same image--guess they must have taken it from the source as well.

To be honest, if that wasn't the source, I'm not sure what it is. I didn't exactly keep track. If I'm not able to find the correct license, I assume the image will need to be removed?

Digimon CollectorsEdit

Koro have you looked in the folder because I downloaded it and it is not showing any of these of cards.

Apologies and Explanation regarding the "Mythological" Edit

This is my first time editing the Wiki, and I chose the Abrahamic due to my interest therein.

  • You confused "is part of Christian religion" with "is part of Christian mythologizing, divorced from Scripture, based on purposeful twisting of Scripture (i.e., Ephesians and Colossians are not talking about angels), and not part of the Canon."

I was going by current orthodox Roman Catholic belief, so perhaps that is the problem. The R.C. Church's interpretation of those passages of Scripture is that St. Paul is talking about angels, and that his reference to "heaven"ly and "invisible" indicate this. See [18]Catholic Online.

  • You misinterpreted "mythology" as "false beliefs" when the actual definition is "The collection of myths of a people, concerning the origin of the people, history, deities, ancestors and heroes," and myth is "A traditional story which embodies a belief regarding some fact or phenomenon of experience, and in which often the forces of nature and of the soul are personified; a sacred narrative regarding a god, a hero, the origin of the world or of a people, etc."

I have never encountered that definition, and I apologize if that is the actual definition of mythology. Still, I can't help but think that this Wiki will continue to experience this problem so long as the simpler "traditional" definition of mythology as "false beliefs" is widely held to be true. Could we not choose a less-polarizing term?

  • You ignored the very clear notice on the edit page that no changes are to be made to the use of "mythological" without discussion on the talk page, and furthermore reverted another editor when they corrected this.

I apologize for that as well; I have never needed to use a talk page before and thus am not even sure if this will reach you. I was concerned about encountering spiritual/aspiritual bias and considered that this message might be a part of that. Having viewed your profile, I can see that such is not the case.--KatnissEverqueen (talk) 02:26, January 8, 2014 (UTC)

Stuff about KHWiki and a possible insult to youEdit

Okay, I have entered two arguments recently in the KH Insider forums. One is about whether or not the Soul Eater is a Keyblade and the other is about the canonicity of optional boss battles. On both cases they throwed in the entire "Wikis are unreliable" argument. I'm preparing my answer to those posts, but I have two questions. One: When did Nomura say "only Keyblades can show Keyholes and not even wielders can see them without them"? You said if comes from the BBS Ultimania, but that question's answer seems to refer to opening the door rather than seeing the Keyhole. Two: When did Nomura refute any claim of the superbosses being non-canon?

Also, something that you may consider personal and may make you want to join the discussion, is that they insulted you, one accusing you of practicing "a one-man war in which this particular person tried to force his or her belief to others." and another saying you "could [be lying]". I'll answer them tomorrow and split the threads. By the way, it seems that the first time an user puts a post with links, that post needs mod approval (that's the impression I got, and I think it's meant to avoid spam), so if you want to make a post with links, be aware that the first one will take some time to be visible. Anime... PAAWAA!!! 01:30, February 15, 2014 (UTC)/23:30, February 14, 2013 (Brasília, summer time)
I honestly don't care if they insulted me. The official material says what it says, and I'm not interested in kowtowing to "popular opinion" that some fanon is true when the official material says it's not -- if that means I don't accept compromise on a wiki, so be it.
As for the Soul Eater: one of the main plot points of Days (and touched on in KHII) is that only Keyblades can release hearts from being imprisoned in the darkness of a Heartless, so they can regenerate as a complete person (so they're pink instead of black), and the Soul Eater very much does that in CoM and Days (I believe the Xehanort Reports mention this too). That right there should be a slam dunk; it is the main identifying characteristic of a Keyblade, given that they can lack Keychains, be in the shape of motorbikes, etc. Furthermore, the line in the KHII Ultimania describing the Way to the Dawn's origin basically makes the Soul Eater sound like Ichigo's Zangetsu, first form -- an incomplete, intermediary form that still counts as a Keyblade for mechanical purposes, but is not "fully grown". The Way to the Dawn is its "true, complete" form, but as the Soul Eater, it is still a Keyblade. For their rebuttal that all weapons free KHII, sure, but even that can be made uncertain as them fighting "with" Sora. In any case, Days is what defined the rule, and KHII came before Days; if it comes down to it, it should be counted as a retcon. In Days, they make it very clear that any weapon can separate the heart from the Heartless, but only a Keyblade can free it from darkness -- and in that game, only the Keyblade wielders release pink hearts when destroying a Heartless. In CoM, the only game so far in which Riku uses the Soul Eater while not alongside a more explicit Keyblade, he also releases pink hearts, even in KH1.5.
For the superbosses: I'd need a link to where you saw me say that, but off the top of my head, the fact that Sephiroth, Lingering Will, Xemnas, Young Xehanort, and Kurt Zisa's superboss battles all end up referenced in other games seems clear enough. So far, there's been no reason to assume that anything depicted in the series is not "canon", even the sidequests and optional bosses. Certainly the game and journal entries find a way to make them fit. The only noncanon boss I can think of is Anti Sora in CoM's Tag(?) Mode. The two-player one.
In any case -- if you put those facts out there and they don't accept it, I'd just say it's an oh well. The series has made certain things explicit, certain things implicit, and certain things undiscussed -- if they're committed to their form of fanon, then there's probably no changing that. Also, please don't feel obligated to defend me, dude, I deserve a lot of the heat for how abrasive I get.Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 16:56, February 15, 2014 (UTC)
Here. They are also bringing up Leon and Cloud's swords releasing pink hearts in KHII, and one said that the Soul Eater transforming into the Way to the Dawn is not evidence of it being a Keyblade as Lea's chakram also become a Keyblade. I still haven't posted the thread, but I'm planing to answer to the latter one that we have no proof that the chakrams transformed, and that the Keyblade could simply look like it, and that the chakrams were never called Keyblades, and never showed Keyblade-like characteristics. Thinking about it though, I started to think that maybe everyone has an incomplete Keyblade in their heart, and only chosen wielders are able to complete them, this theory would explain not only the Dream Sword, but also how people were able to make Keyblades in the first place, and why Xehanort intends to use people to forge the χ-blade rather than searching the actual fragments, and also why stuff like the chakrams can turn into the Keyblades. Maybe the Soul Eater releases pink hearts because Riku was a chosen wielder while Lea wasn't.
By the way, they are also claiming that Mobile is not a source, and that the DDD glossary claims that Keyblades don't exist until they first appear in their wielders' hands, which to me seems like a misinterpretation of what is actually being said.
The Sephiroth battle also wasn't referred in KHII. Sephiroth simply appeared, and they are claiming "based on their interactions, we can infer that they never met" which seems a poor argument to me given Ariel not remembering Ursula in KHII and Sora not alluding to fighting Xemnas before when meeting the Organization in Castle Oblivion, or when Yen Sid explained the Organization to him. They also claim that Sora and Sephiroth's interactions make the battle "non-canon by default regardless of whether Nomura said anything about it", basically saying that Nomura's words are invalid.
Lingering Will and Young Xehanort aren't explicitly referred to as having happened in the games, we only know the characters exist. A quote from Ultimania states the lingering Will stayed there until fighting Sora in KHIIFM, but I think they ignored that part when I said it.
They also stated that I need to provide sources for then being canon when, as far as I understand, that's not how fiction works when the author hasn't set definitive rules of canonicity. The users there also seem to have a clear anti-Wiki bias. It would take some time to explain, so just read this post and the answers to it, at any case I don't think I can link to the Canon article on TFWiki without being stoned.
I'll start answering them now. Anime... PAAWAA!!! 17:29, February 15, 2014 (UTC)
Okay, I misrememberd one thing. He said that Keyblades don't exist in a physical state until first manifesting in the wielder's hand (here), but I don't see how that makes the Soul Eater being an incomplete Keyblade impossible. Anime... PAAWAA!!! 17:39, February 15, 2014 (UTC)
The Ultimania says this: "...his Soul Eater was used as an intermediary for that Keyblade." That, and the pink hearts thing, seems clear enough for me. Even if the games haven't been super-consistent about depicting things correctly, what the script (and Nomura) have actually said is pretty clear. If their hung up on the inconsistencies in depiction (i.e., basically what amounts to game limitations), then I'd just thank our lucky stars they're not in charge of the series and drop it, honestly. If they're wrong, they're wrong about a game, and since they haven't taken it upon themselves to educate fans (i.e., by running a wiki or encyclopedia fansite), their personal opinion isn't hurting anyone. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 18:16, February 15, 2014 (UTC)
As for the Nomura-superboss thing: I honestly can't remember if I meant "in quotes" or "by incorporating the boss battle into later games' stories, as with Xemnas". If I didn't provide a source, I wouldn't use what I say as proof -- I may be vehement about things, but I'll be the first to admit that there are some times that I've made colossal misunderstandings or mistakes. Hell, back before KH2 came out, I was adamant that the kid we learn was Riku from the Deep dive trailer was one of the XIII, and DiZ as well. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 18:43, February 15, 2014 (UTC)
I didn't know you were already an user there. And you ninja'd my thread with your post, but I think no one noticed what you wrote.
Also, I don't know what to do, they are claiming that the pink VS gray heart thing is speculation based on a gameplay aesthetic, and when I brought up that KHII may not have played it consistently, they said this and similar stuff in the following posts. Anime... PAAWAA!!! 23:56, February 15, 2014 (UTC)
I would just let it rest, honestly -- they have a different set of things they consider canon than you, and to be honest, there is some ambiguity to be argued here. It's unlikely they'll be convinced until Nomura says it explicitly, so there's no harm in just letting it rest. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 00:39, February 16, 2014 (UTC)

Cannondramon Artwork?Edit

Not sure if this'll appear on the talk page due to it being a link but...

I found this while roaming the internet in search of references for Cannondramon for my comic. I believe it's the official Bandai Artwork for it, but I could be wrong. If it is I could upload it to the Wiki to use on Cannondramon's page. Your thoughts? The GLORIOUS one!!! (talk) 19:09, March 14, 2014 (UTC)

It looks right, but you'd need to know where it came from in order to use it. It looks like Cannondramon has appeared in both Collectors and Crusader, so it might be ripped from there. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 19:15, March 14, 2014 (UTC)

So would I put the credit under that if that's where the artwork originated from? Or would I simply put it under Bandai if this is the case? The GLORIOUS one!!! (talk) 19:25, March 14, 2014 (UTC)
No, in this case it would be considered fan-edited art. You could upload it as fanart, if you want, just make sure its name and license are clearly distinct from our official art scheme. It's written that the group is of thirteen Mega Level Digimon For the first the group is made only of nine. Secondly, Magnamon isn't even Mega. I am only trusting the true Wikipedia, which your site isn't. You've only copied that name, is it even legal of you to use "wiki" as the site's name? Here is the information of Magnamon He is NOT a Mega Level. In face his power is equivalent to a Champion's, or a Champion may be stronger. Throughout the series the Champion Digimon became their survival line. However this does not matter. What matters is that your wiki exists not containing the correct information. That is not good. Only telling this because, someone need to give a kick on your butt. Doubt your parents even cared to do that. And if you're going to ban me because of this, I'd rather erase my profile instead. Because honestly I am sick of reading your errors. I rather leave this wiki for good.

Hi KrytenKoro,

I've got a question. My last edits were edited by you and I'm not sure where to go to post this. Do I type why I changed the text in my summary for editing it or do I type it elsewhere? And if I'm to type it elsewhere, where do I type it? Also, I have proof as to why I changed it, but due to my Internet situation, I can't post the proof. I don't even know how to make links to different websites. So I also wanted to ask if you could check out what I have for proof? You don't have to. You can keep it the same. But the dub I'm learning this from, is correct. For the Knightmon (Fusion) "Storm of Steel", "Checkmate Break" was changed to that attack name on the show "Rival Champions", I watched it. Also, for Shoutmon X3 "Varooma-Boomerang", that's the dub's name for "Victorize Boomerang". Sadly, it's the only attack Shoutmon X3 uses in this dub. (Don't quote me on this, but I think he used "Proton Fist".) Understood. Chimera-gui (talk) 21:18, June 18, 2014 (UTC)

Logically that makes no sense, especially from within the series itself. The dubbed show itself states that the events of 02 take place 3 years after the events of Adventure (For example in 02 episode 33, Jim tells Yolei about his experience with Myotismon he says it was 3 years ago). TK and Kari cannot be 7 years old in Adventure, as the booklet claims, and then 12 years old three years later which the dub states, (but CAN feasibly be 8 and then 12 3 years later if you claim they were almost 9 at the time of Adventure).

Additionally, Izzy is stated in the very first episode of 02 as being in high school, and is clearly wearing the same school uniform as Sora, Matt, and Tai, but then the booklet that came with the 02 season says he's in 8th grade which is NEVER a high school grade and always considered to be the last grade BEFORE high school (and in Japan where Digimon distinctly takes place in dub or otherwise, it's the second to last grade before High School). It would also make Izzy, only a year older than TK and Kari and Tai, Matt, and Sora only two years older than TK and Kari, which isn't the case if you're also going by the first booklet where they are 3 years older.

And again, the booklet that came with the first season listed both Tai and Kari as having the Surname YAGAMI, which is clearly their Japanese name, not dub name, and yet the Wiki here obviously doesn't take that as a valid fact, because of what the dub states. The booklet also claims that Kari's true name is "Hikari", which has never been stated in other materials and the wiki page here doesn't acknowledge that either.

Even if they were listed as such in the booklets, the facts for ages directly contradict what's given in the show and they also contradict themselves, so I don't know how that's supposed to be taken seriously.

I recognize the importance of citations but what are ypu suppsoed to do when the extra materials contradict the actual show?

Dracomon's profile romanizes the important kanji "系" as "type", so Digimon Wiki is considering revising -species to -type in all relevant profiles; "種" is sometimes used for the -species names, though, and is the kanji used for Attributes, meaning it's very difficult to run a search on profiles.

Parent PagesEdit

Hey there! I'm reaching out to you because we were hoping to set up a "Parent Page" on the Digimon Wiki. Here is a Parent Page example from The Hunger Games Wiki to give you an idea of what the page entails. Essentially, it's a guide for parents about the age range for different wikis with details about the franchise that might be important when deciding whether or not to allow their kids to watch/play it. Since you and the other admins are more knowledgeable about the series and are the actual community experts, it would be great if you could help us fill it out! Nanimon Edit

Weren't interwiki links that don't go to Wikipedia or Wikispecies supposed to use the ns template? Because G-SANtos uses it for the first link to Oyajitchi at the top of the page. Chimera-gui (talk) 05:56, August 9, 2014 (UTC)

That's because the first one is actually simplify the coding, while the second doesn't. For the first link, w:c:tamagotchi is shorter than Oyajitchi, while for the second link w:c:tamagotchi is longer than OYAJI. I was thinking of changing the pages but I decided to ask you first. Anime... PAAWAA!!! 20:31, September 28, 2014 (UTC)

...yesss, but to my understanding it's only as a last resort. Any other romanizations, including fan translations, would come first -- the url would pretty much only be relevant if the name was gibberish and we were looking for something better than the bare minimum romaji. The reason I think fan translations outrank the url is because of its poor track record, including "Exsaon", PetitMemramon", etc.Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE

New Gallery mode Edit

I've been using ?gallery=new to see how the gallery pages would look with the new gallery feature turned on and they look pretty good. It works with no issues as far as I can tell. Chimera-gui (talk) 01:26, October 21, 2014 (UTC)

It doesn't seem to do anything with the wiki's preferred monobook skin. If turning it on just means making it an option, then fine, but if it means making it the default then we probably don't truck with that. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 04:50, October 21, 2014 (UTC)
Did you not get the notification about this?
Anyway here is an example of how it effects galleries:
Chimera-gui (talk) 06:37, October 21, 2014 (UTC)
Like I said, this changes nothing on monobook for me.
From the write-up that wikia provided, it sounds like this is meant to deal with "gallery overload" (the kind that you would see on wikis with irresponsible editors who just throw in a million images), so that readers can search for information below the gallery. Since we already use the "show more" hideable function on galleries that would need that (Digimon Reference Book, for example), that's a moot point. The only pages I can think of where we don't religiously tamp down on gallery creep are the Gallery: pages, where using this would defeat the whole purpose of the page.
Also, at least on my browser it modifies the Gallery:Agumon page so that the caption is superimposed over the image, which is, if I didn't want the clean art to be viewable as is, I wouldn't have spent so much time trying to make sure we had it in the first place. (With the added joy that, when I log out to be able to view the page in the wikia skin, of course there is an auto-play audiovisual ad shotgunned into the top of the page, helpfully screwing up the page formatting. Got...dammit, wikia.)
You can ask the other editors opinion if you want, I guess, but I am very much against adding this feature, especially if adding it makes it the default. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 14:54, October 21, 2014 (UTC)

What was wrong with my edit on that page? Was there something wrong with my rationale: "Wasn't the reason why it was AxeKnightmon/DarkKnightmon who appeared in the openings (at least for the first phase of Xros Wars/Fusion) and not either of his components (notably his core) was to surprise the audience that he was a DigiXros?"?

Yggdrasil01 (talk) 02:09, January 9, 2015 (UTC)

I could understand why you may have reverted my edit to ShadowToyAgumon. If that description came from a certain source, that would make sense, for example. As far as I could see though, no source was given. However, I see no problem with my adding of MadLeomon's English voice actor, especially considering someone else has now done the same without consequence. Now, don't 'get cross with me' or anything. I just have to wonder why correct information was removed without any given reason.Sasoo~04:40,1/9/2015 04:40, January 9, 2015 (UTC)

Well, the simple fact that Vic Mignogna voices MadLeomon speaks for itself. Voice actors aren't given a source anywhere else. Th role is credited to him. I don't think it gets more straightforward than that. On that same page, MadLeomon, Armed MadLeomon AND MadLeomon (Orochimode) already had him listed as the english VA, so by simple common sense, MadLeomon (Final Mode) should have it listed too (unless his VA was different in this form, which it wasn't). There's only so many ways I can reiterate this.Sasoo~07:52,1/9/2015 07:52, January 9, 2015 (UTC)

If I may speak on this matter, I've noticed that Digimon that are functionally one character in a series tend to have one voice actor regardless of form. Notable examples of this include Steve Blum as Guilmon, Paul St Peter as Leomon, and Derek Price as both Impmon and Grumblemon. That's not to say that there aren't exceptions to this such as Agumon, Palmon, Patamon and Veemon but single actor for all forms seems to be more common than one actor for only certain form with different actor for other forms. Chimera-gui (talk) 16:24, January 9, 2015 (UTC)

I am aware, although there are an immense number of counterexamples, so that is not feasible as a rule. That doesn't change the existence of sources, though. Vic is on twitter, if it's so urgent, then a single tweet should suffice. He's probably already tweeted it, in fact, if you wish to search. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 18:02, January 9, 2015 (UTC)

Myotismon is a fictional character who serves as a major villain throughout several iterations of the Digimon Adventure continuity.

Myotismon's looks and mannerisms are styled after a vampire dressed as an elegant gentleman, similar to Count Dracula. He is generally depicted with heterochromia, with one green eye and one blue eye.

In the Japanese version, Myotismon refers to himself as "watashi", a very formal Japanese pronouns, but after becoming MaloMyotismon he uses , a very informal pronoun.

Myotismon enforces loyalty among his servants by inflicting torture upon them as punishment for the smallest signs of rebellion, and sadistically executes even his loyal servants should they fail in their task, or even simply cease to be of use to him. Only DemiDevimon escapes with relatively minor torturing for his various failures, and only because his services are still required; once Myotismon revives as VenomMyotismon, even DemiDevimon is devoured to feed his master's hunger.

Myotismon feeds on the fresh or deleted data of his victims, though he develops a taste for human blood during his stay in Odaiba, causing his victims to appear to have been afflicted with sudden anemia. His power is reduced in the sunlight, but he can overcome this by summoning a fog around his location. He has some measure of telekinetic ability, such as halting and crushing a rock thrown at his head, and can block almost any attack, unless they surprise him or are holy in nature; even then, he is able to resist the attacks to a greater extent than other dark Digimon. Even after being destroyed, Myotismon's skills in the dark arts allow him to revive himself so long as a portion of his data survives.

Digimon Adventure
Myotismon was created alongside Devimon and Etemon by the initial period of chaos caused by Apocalymon's arrival within the Digital World.fact

Before he encountered the DigiDestined, Myotismon was the one responsible for conditioning Salamon and later Gatomon into a loyal minion by torturing her for even the slightest signs of disloyalty or rebellion. He also took hold of the castle where the Agents had once worked, which contained a gateway to the Real World. The Ultimate Clash

After the DigiDestined arrived on Server and defeated Etemon, he sent his minion DemiDevimon to try to keep them separated while keeping himself hidden, because he had learned of a prophecy that he would be destroyed by the Eighth DigiDestined Child. However, when Tai returns the group is able to start pulling back together despite DemiDevimon's best efforts, for which Myotismon frequently tortures him. When the children finally reunite as one group, Myotismon appears in person to attack, but although he initially holds the upper hand against their Champion Digimon, he is surprised when the last child, Sora, finally awakens her Crest and causes Birdramon to become Garudamon, who manages to hold him off long enough for everyone to escape.Sora's Crest of Love As a fallback, he begins enacting plans to enter the Real World with an army of Digimon to find and kill the Eighth Child. The Gateway To Home

However, the DigiDestined follow him, and over the next two days, August 1 and 2, the two groups race to find the child. To his frustration, his minions prove unsuccessful in finding the child, and many of them are slain during their search. On the night of August 2, Myotismon learns of Gatomon's relation to the Eighth Child. The Eighth Child Revealed He then uses his powers to isolate Odaiba from the rest of Tokyo through a thick fog screen, which also serves to isolate some of the DigiDestined and make it harder for them to stop him.Flower Power

After identifying the Eighth Child, Kari, who was actually Tai's little sister, Myotismon easily fends off a rescue attempt by the other DigiDestined, and moves to murder the girl. However, when Wizardmon intercepts the attack and is killed, Kari's Crest glows<!--can we reword this so that it doesn't make it sound like her crest is powered by sadness? I can't think of a way myself, but can we?--> causing Gatomon to digivolve to Angewomon, who gathers the other Digimons' power with "Heaven's Charm" and forms it into her "Celestial Arrow". Like the fabled vampire, Myotismon is slain when Angewomon's arrows pierces him through the heart.Wizardmon's Gift

Despite this, Myotismon is not yet truly defeated. After Myotismon's apparent defeat, Gennai sends Izzy and the other DigiDestined an e-mail detailing an ancient prophecy while they're still on the roof of the Fuji TV station. The ancient text was translated by Gennai as follows:

:The sky will be darkened by the wings of many bats.
:The fallen people will invoke the name of the Undead Digimon King
:And when the clock strikes the Hour of the Beast,
:The Undead King will reveal himself in his true form, as the Beast.
:Then angels will shoot arrows of Hope and Light at the loved ones of those they have been sent to protect
:And a miracle will happen.

This prophecy comes to fruition through Myotismon's resurrection into Venom Myotismon and his defeat at the hands of the newly warp digivolved WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon with the DigiDestined using their Crests to hold the monster at bay so the two Digimon can land the final blow.ProphecyThe Battle for Earth However, with only his physical form destroyed, Myotismon's data ghost survived and entered the body of Yukio Oikawa.Oikawa's Shame

On December 31, Myotismon is revived by Millenniummon. He kidnapped Kari, Joe, Matt, and their Digimon, and took them to the Server Continent. He is then defeated by Ryo Akiyama.Digimon Adventure: Anode/Cathode Tamer

From inside Oikawa, wiping out his memories of their meeting, Myotismon influenced the events of Digimon 02fact<!--which events and how?--> prior to emerging from Oikawa's body and using the Dark Spores to complete restore himself in the form of MaloMyotismon.Oikawa's Shame But losing his physical body once more when the formerly Dark Spore children embrace their dreams while dealing with the nations' DigiDestined, Myotismon is finally destroyed by Imperialdramon.A Million Points of Light

VenomMyotismon is Myotismon's first Mega form.

After his apparent death by Angewomon, with his mask remaining, Myotismon is revived by his alpha bats loading the data of his remaining minions and merging onto his mask. By the time his entire Alpha bat familiars integrate into him, Myotismon is reborn as VenomMyotismon. Swallowing DemiDevimon as he was no longer needed, VenomMyotismon overpowers MetalGreymon and WereGarurumon before the two are enabled to assume their mega forms as the other DigiDestined Digimon arrive. MaloMyotismon is Myotismon's second Mega form.

A form that he assumed after leaving Oikawa's body and absorbing the Dark Spores, the newly reborn MaloMyotismon tests his new powers out by torturing and killing his own minion Arukenimon before destroying a revenge-driven Mummymon when he attempts to fight him.Oikawa's Shame Though the other second generation DigiDestined are initially too afraid to fight him, their courage is restored when Davis and Exveemon fight MaloMyotismon. However, MaloMyotismon attempts to end this by subjecting the humans to Mental Illusion to entrap each DigiDestined in a personal prison of their desires. Davis, whose desire is to defeat MaloMyotismon, is able tap into the powers of the dream dimension freeing his friends and showing them how to manifest the multiple Digivolution forms of their partners. Eventually the fight moves to the Digital World, where Myotismon uses its darkness to enlarge. The Last Temptation of the DigiDestined

Just as all hope seems lost, the DigiDestined from all over the world use the light from their Digivices to empower their Digimon partners present in the Digital World before joining their partners and using their Digivices on MaloMyotismon. Though he attempts to undo the damage by using the Dark Spore childrens' dark thoughts of despair, MaloMyotismon ends up losing his physical form when second generation japanese DigiDestined are able to help the Dark Spore children overcome their negative emotions and embrace their dreams, allowing them to become DigiDestined with their own partners and Digivices. I found a template called Grab that might help with the new format you Lanate and G-SANtos were planning as it transcludes content from other pages as seen here:Items (Shantae: Risky's Revenge)

This means that you can separate the Digimon Subspecies into their own pages while still displaying the content from those pages on the main Species pages.

I should note though that categories get transcluded as well unless you put them between tags. So what do you think? Chimera-gui (talk) 23:38, February 11, 2015 (UTC)

Hello, the image I uploaded, File:Arcadia.png, was regarded as a candidate for deletion. I fully understand that this is due to a licensing issue. The picture does, in fact, belong to me, but I understand that I need to give credit to avoid looking as though I stole it from somebody else. What must I do to the file as it is now to fix this error? If it is not possible, will I simply need to re-upload the image with the correct licensing? In the chapter 9, MetalGreymon Cyberdramon makes an appearance, but it is not specified whether he borns from the fusion of MetalGreymon and Cyberdramon (as in the anime series) or Greymon, MailBirdramon and Cyberdramon (as in Super Digica Taisen), what should be put then in the section of Digivolution? Assume he digivolved from whatever forms were last seen in that chapter. If they first appeared as a degeneration, then just start with that. It's implicit that the Xros Heart fight the entire Jupiter Zone Battalion, but for example: no one is seen fighting directly one of the several Sefirotmon, and Griffomon is not seen in the scene; it should be considered that the both "are fought by the protagonists" (bolded characters) or not?

And also, should the fire that comes out of Zenjirou be considered Meramon, same as Omega the Fusion of OmegaShoutmon? Thanks in advance. --Charles.929 (talk) 15:37, September 8, 2015 (UTC)
No opinion about Sakkakumon. I'm conflicted whether Orochi should be considered a digital lifeform or simply an extension of Susanoomon. We should ask the community for an opinion on that. For the Sword of Storms, and other equipment unique to a Digimon, I'm of the opinion that it counts as part of the Digimon's data, and is thus an appearance of them...but it's possible I may be misremembering various situations. At least for the Sword of Storms, my understanding was that it counts as Tactimon's remaining essence, so that he's not truly "dead" yet, but I may be wrong. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 19:19, August 24, 2016 (UTC)

I noticed on the Fan:Yamato "Matt" Ishida page that names with " " in them cause the ns template's span title to not work. I found a way to fix this by changing the " " to ' ' in the span tag but I wanted your thoughts on how to best implement this solution without creating a new problem.

My idea is to make the code: {{#ifeq: {} | Yes | <span title='{}'>{{{3|{}}}}</span> | <span title="{}">{{{3|{}}}}</span>}}

Transitioning to portable infoboxes Edit

Hey KrytenKoro,

We’re reaching out to a few of our top communities, hoping to get you on board with the migration to the new infobox markup. And we have tools to help!

Why we’re doing this

Simply put: Most current infobox structures translate very poorly to mobile devices, and indeed any device that doesn’t use desktop-style displays. On desktops and laptops, they often look amazing. The problem is that more and more of our contributors visit Wikia from a mobile device.

To see just how much traffic has become mobile, you can check out this graph from our forum post about infoboxes a couple weeks back:

File:Wikia mobile traffic growth.jpg

Mobile is the future. Not just for Wikia, but for the web as a whole. Take a look at the recent trends and future growth predictions for mobile traffic - it's staggering.

We partnered with the Wikia community to create this new markup to make sure that your hard work can be displayed on mobile devices (as well as any future technologies) easily and without any new coding conventions. It'll take some effort up front, but we’re here to help with it, and the work you put in now will pay for itself tenfold in the future.

Tools we’ve designed to make the process easier

We've enabled two new features on your community. One is a tool for migrating the "old" infobox code to the new markup. It identifies templates on your wikia that look like infobox templates and places a box on the right rail of the template page. When you click the "Generate draft markup" button in this box, it opens a new tab containing a draft of your infobox using the new markup.

The second is a new feature on Special:Insights that will highlight which infoboxes on your wikia have not been migrated to the new infobox markup. It's fairly intuitive - you can click on the infobox title link itself to see the old markup, or simply click the "Convert!" button on the right, which performs the same action as the "Generate draft markup" button.

This is our help page for the new markup. I'll help get things rolling by converting a template or two as an example if you and the other admins would like me to. Of course feel free to ask any questions you have about this.

All the best,

Mira_Laime @fandom (help forum | blog) 17:37, July 24, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for the hint about the image - I'll delete it and replace it with a link. I'll also create a draft of the first portable infobox by tomorrow for you to consider. If I understand correctly, Template:Digimon Infobox is your sandbox page, where I can include the "new" infobox, and Template:Episode is the box that you'd like me to convert? Mira_Laime @fandom (help forum | blog) 18:12, July 27, 2015 (UTC)
Hijacking the discussion, Kryten, this is what I managed to reproduce so far: DigimonWiki:Sandbox/Episode-Lanate. I'm not crazy about losing control of how images are displayed to CSS to be honest. Then again, I'm not a web designer, so a lot of this coding is foreign to me. Lanate (talk) 03:52, July 28, 2015 (UTC)
Also not crazy about losing the default-collapsed portions of our infoboxes. Lanate (talk) 03:56, July 28, 2015 (UTC)
Thanks for getting ahead of me and already giving it a try, Lanate! I see though that you've included a switch to make the box have a different styling for different series. I'd suggest adding that in MediaWiki:Common.css instead. The goal with the portable infoboxes is to pull individual stylings out of the templates, so the template code itself becomes simpler and translates better to mobile.
The navigation tag that you're using here lets you change the styling according to category, but it's a non-content element. That means it might not translate to other platforms at all, messing up your infobox on mobile. Additionally, if someone should want to reuse this template for a different purpose later, it'll be harder for them to separate the styling information from the content information.
In order to get the full benefits from converting to portable infoboxes, it's best to avoid inline styling in the template itself as far as possible. Here's a way how you could achieve the same theme-changing effect without using {{#switch:{} within your template: You can add <infobox layout="tabular" theme-source="series" > to your template. You can then define what the different values for series should do in Common.css, e.g. like the Riordan wikia did here at the bottom: Riordan's CSS. Maybe it's worth a try? Mira_Laime @fandom (help forum | blog) 22:30, July 28, 2015 (UTC)
It works nice when you can key off of single words like that. When you're trying to key off phrases, CSS makes that near impossible, hence the delegation to switches.
To be strictly honest, I don't enjoy hampering existing functionality to make it mobile compatible when, to be frank, I see minimal improvement. Then again, I'm far from a UI/UX designer. Lanate (talk) 03:07, July 29, 2015 (UTC)
That's far more vitriolic than I meant to be, and I apologize. I'm just far out of my depth when it comes to UI/UX. At the moment, I see it as only slightly changing how the mobile infobox is displayed while removing the customizability of the desktop version, and I don't like that trade-off. Lanate (talk) 03:15, July 29, 2015 (UTC)
No worries - we do realize we're asking a lot from you, since a lot of wikias have very individual stylings built into their infoboxes. Almost anything you have on your current infobox can be recreated by adding to Common.css, making the desktop versions look pretty much like they do now. But I know perfectly well that a lot of that requires pretty advances skills (which I myself don't have either).
I really can't overstress how vital better portability is for our content, and it's getting even more so, because workarounds and hacks are harder and harder to maintain as mobile becomes standard everywhere. Most pages still look okay now on most devices, but that requires an increasing amount of tinkering around. If you don't see it possible to fully convert all infoboxes right now, maybe you can at least keep this in mind going forward, especially if you should create new or change any existing infoboxes? Mira_Laime @fandom (help forum | blog) 17:24, July 29, 2015 (UTC)
I think what Lanate means, and I personally agree with him, is that while the mobile rendering of our infoboxes does not match our intent exactly, it is still functional, and is therefore closer to our intent than either the mobile or desktop version of the new style. Our infoboxes focus more on dynamic functioning than aesthetic standardization, so it's more important to us that the reformatted infoboxes work than that they display the same colors.
If wikia can demonstrate how to maintain functionality with its new style, we'd probably have more to talk about; however, we still have another chief editor who hasn't weighed in yet.Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 17:57, July 29, 2015 (UTC)

Infobox tabbing!Edit

Hey there!

You'd expressed interest in our new infoboxes a while back when you were talking to my coworker Mira Laime. You were concerned about their lack of tabbing, so, hey, good news! Our dev team has put together a solution for this, and we're hoping you'd be willing to be a pilot/text community for it.

We don't need anything besides your "OK" here - our engineers will do the work themselves. We'll take your current infoboxes and mock up their "replacements" on separate userpages, then show them to you for critique. If they pass your muster, we'll go in and replace your old, nonportable infoboxes with these new ones.

If that's not cool, though, let me know here. Otherwise, I'll hook you up with a project manager and we can do some work for you! Ducksoup (talk) 21:55, September 25, 2015 (UTC)

With the WillEdit

Can you tell Marc I'm autist, and that this may be why there's such a discrepancy in how others interpret what I say? Because, believe me, I'm pretty sure what I said in the spoilers thread wasn't a theory. It's my words. Only I can define if what I'm saying is or isn't a theory. They arguing what I said is a theory is basically they putting words in my mouth. Anime... PAAWAA!!! 02:02, October 27, 2015 (UTC)

I've told him, but in my own experience...I've been blocked a few times on there, and the lesson I've learned is that the mods there aren't trying to defend some fundamental Truth, they're trying to keep the community from being at each others' throats. If they've asked you to stop, then there was probably someone complaining about whatever you were posting, so it's best to just let things slide, apologize for causing a disturbance, and take your lumps. You'll always be free to post your theories in the forums here, anyway, and if you want you could link to your theory article as your wtw signature. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 02:14, October 27, 2015 (UTC)
The problem is that the ban reason says "Ignoring and arguing with stuff". I wasn't ignoring, and last I checked arguing with staff isn't against the rules, and if they basically expect me to accept they deciding I'm doing something I ain't, and not defend myself, than that's basically a dictatorship, or playing god, or whatever it's called. WtW's ban system prevents one from using PM's, so I can't appeal the ban there. And here, he said I "did it again in the same post I said I wasn't", in other words, this post. What part of that was a theory? The Daigumon part was a joke, and the Huckmon stuff was just a comment, and this exactly the same thing Theigno did, in the very post I quoted.
This basically started with this post. The post quotes the thing I said about the 02 group, which was merely a comment. If he was talking about something else, than that wasn't clear. And, frankly, everything I said in that thread is somehow related to the spoilers discussion, so if he was telling me to say those in the theories thread, then I don't understand his logic, because that basically requires me to post spoilers in the theories thread, and the whole point of the spoilers thread was to not post spoilers elsewhere. So, in that case his orders seem illogical to me, like when he said me asking for screenshots in the BD Box thread was offtopic when the first page said we could ask for screenshots. Basically, it seems to me that he was giving contradictory orders.
At what UTC times can you be at the WtW IRC today and tomorrow? I have therapy as Tuesdays, so today I'll only be back home around 22:00 UTC, and I don't know how much time that leaves me with. Anime... PAAWAA!!! 18:05, October 27, 2015 (UTC)

Okay, I have to be hitting the road soon, so I'll say it here -- you probably weren't suspended because you were wrong, you were probably suspended because someone had complained that you were making the thread un-fun, and the mods told you to stop. No matter what, if the mods tell you to stop, they're gonna suspend you if you keep going. Arguing with them about that is not the way to get un-suspended. The lesson they're trying to teach you, I feel, is less "this counts as theory, this counts as spoiler", but "you need to cool it when we tell you you're causing a problem". Unlike a wiki, their job isn't to protect the most logical arguments, it's to make sure people still want to use the forums. If I'm not mistaken, all you should need to do is apologize to them of pushing the issue, try to learn where the limits on the mods' patience are, and wait out your suspension. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 23:30, October 27, 2015 (UTC)

Looking for full reverts in the last four months, not modifications, I can only find this one, this one, this one, and this one reverted per the edit comments as getting two attack names incorrect, adding stage directions (which MoS does not allow), and expanding a quote with what I think we can both agree was the non-interesting bit of the dialogue, which isn't the point of the quotes section. Actually yeah there is, cause as far as Gallery:MegaSeadramon goes, you know that in Season 1 MegaSeadramon's attack is called "Thunder Javelin". "Lightning Javelin" was used in Season 2, for some very odd reason cause in my opinion, "Thunder Javelin" sounds a lot cooler. He said "Thunder Javelin" twice, once that hit Ikkakumon, knocking Joe & T.K. clean into the water & again which Zudomon easily deflected with his horn before takin MegaSeadramon down with his Vulcan's Hammer. & exactly what the hell is "MoS" & which attack names did I get incorrect? -- GROUCHMan (MY TRASH CAN) 15:14, November 19, 2015 (UTC)
I'll look into the MegaSeadramon situation. You also got LadyDevimon's "Darkness Wave" mixed up with its dub technique. The MoS is the wiki's Manual of Style, and stage directions have never been allowed as part of the quotes, which is why I remove them any time someone puts them up.Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 15:29, November 19, 2015 (UTC)

Season/series problem. Edit

Calling the separate series as "seasons" here feels disturbing. The four first series all use the name Digimon: Digital Monsters, while Savers and Xros Wars were renamed Data Squad and Fusion. But most of the seris take place in separate continuities, with Adventure being the only one with more than one series, and Fusion merely bringing characters of the previous continuities from their respective universe into Fusion universe. CAJH (talk) 07:43, January 13, 2016 (UTC)

Digimon follows the basic pattern of an anthology series, where each season is self-contained. Both "season" and "series" are applicable here, since season means "A group of episodes of a television or radio program broadcast in regular intervals with a long break between each group, usually with one year between the beginning of each." I don't really see why it would be relevant that the first four seasons (Which aired without multi-year hiatus) had the same English name -- they're still plainly TV seasons, per the US definition. Japan has a slightly different definition, which along with some subline name changes accounted for fandom confusion with Xros Wars/Death Generals/Hunters, but in America it would still be considered one season. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 16:44, January 13, 2016 (UTC)
Then, I have nothing to complain here. Fortunately, Wikipedia does use both points points of view: US and Japan. CAJH (talk) 17:52, January 13, 2016 (UTC)
You haven't really made it clear in the first place what the problem is with using "season", and bringing up continuities is pretty irrelevant to whether they count as seasons or not. I'm very unclear on what you're actually asking be done. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 00:48, January 14, 2016 (UTC)
Technically speaking, 02 is a season for the Adventure series while Tamers, Frontier, Data Squad/Savers, and Fusion/Xros Wars are series in and of themselves. Likewise, Hunters is a season of Fusion/Xros Wars. At least that's what I assume CAJH is saying. Chimera-gui (talk) 02:08, January 14, 2016 (UTC)
(edit conflict) I think they're backing off from a previous position? I think the original stance came from a standpoint where a series has a single, traceable continuity, and seasons are batches in that continuity. Now they're accepting the position that we kind of use both here; I know I refer to Digimon Fusion as a series and Xros Wars/Death Generals/Hunters as seasons in that series, while using seasons and series interchangably for the rest. It's not helped by the fact that Death Generals aired as a separate season in the US. Lanate (talk) 02:19, January 14, 2016 (UTC)
Chimera-gui's assumption is correct. I merely wanted know the reason why even the series that came after Frontier seemed to be treated as "seasons", despite their separate continuities and the fact that Fusion itself could be said to have three seasons (not only through release schedules in U.S. but also how in each of them, the main characters have different appearances and each season has different theme). But now I have the answer. CAJH (talk) 08:58, January 14, 2016 (UTC)

Hi I'm a little confused as to why the contributions I wrote were taken down. What you were saying about the table. That just says who is in the episode. What I am trying to do is acknowledging the first appearances of every Digimon in the anime (movies included) and the total of Digimon that have appeared. Except for X-Evolution.

Examples: Trash Day - 105. CHERRYMON & 106. GARBAGEMON

                               Family Picnic - 144. ROACHMON
               M3: Hurricane Touchdown - 159. GUMMYMON, 160. KOKOMON, 161. TERRIERMON, 162. ENDIGOMON, 163. GARGOMON, 164. ANTYLAMON, 165. CHERUBIMON (GOOD & BAD), 166. SERAPHIMON, 167. MAGNADRAMON, & 168. RAPIDMON (GOLDEN ARMOUR FORM)
                               Digimon World Tour Part 1 - 199. FLARERIZAMON, 200. SYAKOMON, & 201. OCTOMON
                               Janyu’s Ark – 280. PUKUMON, 281. GRYPHONMON, 282. PHOENIXMON (CALLED HOUOUMON IN THIS EPISODE), 283. BOLTMON, 284. PRECIOMON, 285. GRANKUWAGAMON, & 286. MARINEANGEMON
Island Zone In Chaos - 448. CHIBITORTOMON & 449. NEPTUNEMON

Cameos, silhouettes, and brief flashbacks, shouldn’t count as official debuts. As for the Digimon Analyzer, not every Digimon were analyzed in their debut episodes like Wizardmon, Hagurumon, Syakomon, Pandamon, Piddomon, Gaomon, and Astamon. Sure some were in later seasons, but every Digimon (even after a first time Digivolution) should be analyzed. They’re willing to give re-analyzed profiles for Digimon who already appeared, but not doing it for every first appearance of a Digimon? That’s messed up. If they did do that I wouldn’t be doing this. These “Digimon Debut” sections are specifically for new Digimon to the anime. Episodes that don’t feature any new Digimon in them will not be filled. Though a note of that I think should be acceptable.

About Chrome_Digizoid 海中を恐るべき速度で移動することが可能である

恐るべき速度で移動 means moving in terrifying speed in water I know terrifying may be interpreted as negative but here in Japanese, it should mean incredible. For example, Neptunemon is a digimon living in the ocean From his introduction in digimon wiki "Neptunemon's body is made of "Chrome Digizoid" converted into the "Blue Digizoid" which excels in agility, it prefers to remove it when possible due to its poor speed in the water. " I doubt the "prefers to remove it" part since no source is cited. In the official page of digimon, the Japanese introduction of Neptunemon doesn't include such part and only mention he has Blue Digizoid. Also, it doesn't make sense to give a Olympic God digimon such a poor setting which he dominates the ocean but he is having Blue Digizoid which slows him down <-- WHAT?

At last, thanks for your great contribution to the Digimon community I really appreciate your effort in editing the wiki Here is just my little comment about the page so I am not really sure I am right or not ^v^ firewoof2005

Kryten, I can't blame you for the mistake in translation since that can happen but it shows exactly why proofreading a translation to make sure it's coherent is important. Oh, my apologies, didn't see this on my talk page. I found that image online on a japanese web page that gave some information about Rockmon and trivia about the first Digimon World game, it was all in a japanese blog, i thought that putting the "vg" tag wouldn't do since it's clearly not a videogame screenshot, i put the bandai tag because it's a digimon that only showed up in a Bandai videogame. Since i didn't know what tag should i put it. But at least put the image back, it shows the digimon more clearly and it's not that weird to look at since the videogame screenshot mixes it up with the wireframe on the floor. But you are the admin and your decision is final, apologies for not asking first.DragonFaku (talk) 12:59, May 18, 2016 (UTC)

What I was basically wanting to ask now, though, if you could make an alteration to the template so that the slot that takes up the Super Ultimate slot could be rendered as either Burst Mode (An alternate term for Above Mega Level Digimon) or as Ultra (the English Dub name for Super Ultimate as shown in the Digimon Story games). Or, alternatively, add a special code to the template that can allow people to use either the original evolution stage names or strictly the dub names. Image PostingEdit

Hello, I've been wondering if it was at all possible to include images that have not been uploaded to this Wiki. I've been uploading images via, and I would like to know if pictures I upload there can be used here without having to upload so as not to spam the uploaded pictures section, or if I simply have to upload images as I've been doing?

Thanks! SeadramonX (Talk) 16:34, July 22, 2016

...depends on where they're used. External images should definitely not be used in mainspace, but fanspace I believe we can provide leeway. Lanate (talk) 01:59, July 23, 2016 (UTC)
Right, I was just thinking of using them on fan images, not on like real Digimon, I know that wouldn't work. SeadramonX (Talk) 12:47, July 23, 2016 (UTC)
Imageshack should work. Failing that, you can upload them to wikia community central, and link them from there. The images should show up if you post a direct link to their address (the actual image itself, ending in .png or .jpg or whatever, not the imagehosting website's details page for the image). Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 14:52, July 25, 2016 (UTC)

As I mentioned on Lanate's talk page, it does seem like the anime canon stages are displayed first for each Level for each partner including the ones of the secondary Tamers. Chimera-gui (talk) 06:39, October 4, 2016 (UTC)
About whether the evolutions are Bio-Merges or mere normal ones, the D-Power doesn't disclose this in great details (i.e. Not a single word of the specific name of the evolutions is mentioned). However, since there is no human seen in the evolution sequences, and the Digivolve Cards which are said to be able to digivolve the Digimon once/twice can digivolve the partner from any stage to Mega, I believe the evolutions to Mega in D-Power v3 are normal ones.

Fair point but most aren't even the correct format/file type so I doubt we'd be able to use them. It'd be better to just upload new versions that are the correct format/file type than to try to salvage files that are basically unusable even without the permission issue. Brief Edit

Brief question. Why does this wiki use dub-terms, when the information of the series is transparently available to everyone. Wouldn't it be a more rational position to use the official version of the series, with an accurately translated wiki? -- 21:14, November 30, 2016 (UTC)

Because outside of Japan, the dub is the official version. Nearly all of the official material released internationally uses the dub terminology which is translated by Bandai. If we started using fan translations, which is what I assume what mean when you say "accurate translations", then this wiki would stop being accurate to the official material. Lost Evolution EditsEdit

I've been meaning to work on these, and now that I'm about to have more time over the holidays, I'll finally be able to. However, before I start, I'd like to know if the format for the information on the Digimon pages. Would they be the same as they were in Dawn/Dusk, but without the Digi Egg information, or would they need to have a completely new format unto themselves? SeadramonX (talk) 16:34, December 7, 2016 (EST)

The sections need to cover all information unique to that Digimon in the game. So, for Digimon Masters, this would mean evolution routes and stats, but the levels at which evolution happens aren't necessary because they're true for all Digimon and thus part of the system, not the individual.
I would assume that it should be similar to that used on SkullGreymon for Dawn and Dusk, but I have not played the game. Off the top of my head, I believe the game has some sort of "recovering the evolution possibility" item, right? So that would be relevant to the section too. Appearances of the species as characters, too.Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 22:50, December 7, 2016 (UTC)

Just came to ask what the articles here mean by "base Digimon". I'm trying to get a BanchoLeomon in Digimon Dusk and its page states that you must DNA digivolve Pandamon with GrapLeomon, but only if the base Digimon is at least level 64, with 50,000 Beast experience, and 420 attack. However, instead of redirecting me to the ShineGreymon Burst Mode page as it's called due to the Dub excluding the : sign, it instead redirected me to ShineGreymon. Can you look into addressing this? Message Walls Edit

Doing so would make it extremely difficult to access a huge amount of data I have on this page. Very much against it, as far as my daily use, and honestly I'm not clear what was difficult about the situation with Megapot -- the incident happened because they chose to not listen to what was being said, not that they couldn't find it.Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 15:04, February 14, 2017 (UTC)
When I say talk page tag, I meant the that messages were split between megapot and G-SANtos' talk pages. And the original talk pages are archived when message walls are turned on so the data's not going to be lost. There's basically no benefit to keeping such a cluttered, obsolete message system at this point. Chimera-gui (talk) 21:28, February 14, 2017 (UTC)
that must be something they've radically redesigned quite recently. I've had immense difficulty trying to access my talk pages on other wikis that have adopted message walls (found the button on monobook at least), and it's virtually impossible to leave messages on them using monobook or a mobile browser. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 22:17, February 14, 2017 (UTC)
As formulated on the DMC wiki, it also completely removes the ability for admins to edit the page other than closing a thread/removing posts, meaning (1) I can't as easily use my talk page to keep track of notes, or archive it of my own accord, and (2) I can't hide sensitive information if a user accidentally posts it without removing their post entirely. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 22:25, February 14, 2017 (UTC)
Actually admin at least can edit comments in threads/posts, even those of other users; You just can't edit another person's comments unless you're an admin. Attempts to clean up/improve pages blocked Edit

I and several other editors have tried to clean up and add useful information to the pages Tentomon (Adventure) and Rina Shinomiya. Every attempt to add useful information and clean up the issues that are stated in the comments are reverted. I have read the style manuals and edit nodes, and there is no reason for this. Also, it is not helpful to simply and lazily revert these edits; instead, efforts should be made to improve the information in-place so that the wiki can grow. Jaguar83 (talk) 23:25, February 28, 2017 (UTC)

My issue is not simply with reverts, it is with the way that every well-intentioned (certainly not "Bad Faith") attempt to fix issues with a page from various editors is met with a blanket undo. I certainly not "talking smack" as you put it, I'm just telling it as it comes across. As a moderator, one must not just delete every attempt to help; that will just make many users leave, which I can see by your talk page, it has. If you don't have the time to fix the issues, I'm sure there are plenty of other users who are perfectly capable of handling the task, if you'd only ask. Instead of just getting angry and hitting undo, put aside a time later to actively review changes, or message someone else to help. We all have jobs and other lives, but we care enough about this project to want to grow it, and encourage new members, not discourage them.Jaguar83 (talk) 01:16, March 1, 2017 (UTC)

That level of hostility is not required. It is neither helpful, nor healthy. I am simply trying to help, with only the best of intentions.

Anyway, as for the issue at hand, in the spirit of compromise and improving the wiki, I intend to take the following steps on the pages in question.

  • Take the disputed paragraphs and place them in the talk pages for further discussion.
  • Edit the main pages to place text along the lines of "Please refer to the talk page before editing this paragraph".

I feel this solution works best for everyone, and is of most benefit to the wiki. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jaguar83 (talkcontribs) 02:37, March 1, 2017

Clarification Edit

The Omegamon alter b image isn't fanart, and the image is also on so changing the name and calling it a clear fan edit is clearly wrong.

Wikimon will edit images for their pages if deemed necessary so it is absolutely a fan edit as Kryten stated since Alter-B currently does not have DRB entry and as such will be deleted when an entry is added and the official image can be uploaded, period.

And I'm assuming that Astamon > Belphemon Rage Mode is being treated as a Warp Digivolution then, correct? Chimera-gui (talk) 22:01, March 27, 2017 (UTC)
Greencosmos, please take a look at that scan. A real hard look. Look especially at the cape. And then at the cape on the fanart, which has pretty obvious artificial blending in to remove the Japanese words that would otherwise be in that image. As I pointed out, it is fanart. A significant portion of the image is fanart. That doesn't mean that the person who created it did a bad job, or that they were wrong to do it, but it's still against wiki policy to place it on the main articles, because no matter what a portion of that image is derived from a fan's imagination rather than official material. We've had cases like this slip past us before (File:Argomon (Mega) b.jpg), where we found out the image was fanedited rather than ripped as claimed because it ended up significantly different from the officially released image. We're not going to knowingly bite ourselves in the ass like that.

An app for the Digimon Wiki Edit

Hey KrytenKoro,

I'm contacting you as one of the most active admins here, but I'd love to hear the thoughts of everyone else in the admin team, too.

Your wiki is incredibly popular, and more than half of your pageviews come from mobile devices. Because of that, we'd love to create an app for the community. For that, the wiki would need a more extensively curated mobile main page and Discussions enabled. We could do both for you, but of course you know the wiki's content best and would probably know better what content and categories should be featured on the main page.

Once the app is created and available in the app store, you can expect an increase in traffic to the wiki, but probably not a huge increase in article edits, since app users aren't able to do that. You may see a good amount of activity in Discussions, because the mobile users like to talk about Digimon, and haven't been able to so far via the old forum. You don't have to moderate in Discussions, and enabling the feature won't change the current forum or much else on the wiki - but of course it'd be great for the mobile users if some more experienced members of the wiki drop in every now and then to moderate and lead by good example.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns about this! Mira Laime @fandom  (help forum | blog) 00:22, May 9, 2017 (UTC)

What is Discussions? Is it basically non-article based commentary about the subject of the article? If so, I'm personally not super comfortable with that, considering how many issues this fandom has with fanon, and if that stuff got brought up in the Discussions (without our ability to delete said misinformation), it would look like we were approving of it as accurate. User:Lanate, User:G-SANtos, and User:Chimera-gui are more active right now than I am, though. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 14:42, May 9, 2017 (UTC)
This should give you a good overview: Help:Discussions. It's basically a forum, different from the current forums in that it works very well on mobile, and needs less moderation. Users can't edit other users' posts, so vandalism isn't an issue, and users can report problematic posts to moderators, so you don't need to read every post to weed out bad ones. It's not tied to any specific article and all about opinions, theories, recommendations, etc. - meaning it's not factual, and admins don't need to check anything for accuracy.
Some Discussions users like to start role-play threads, but if that ends up happening here, and you decide to let them have their fun with it, you can put those kinds of threads into their own category and they will have no bearing on the wiki itself, making sure fanon and canon stay clearly separated.

I have thought about the discussions feature as an alternative to the old forums which we barely use as-is if that means anything though I didn't bring it up since this is your, Lanate, G-SANtos' call. Chimera-gui (talk) 18:47, May 9, 2017 (UTC)
If it's specifically meant for fan theories, I'm definitely wary of lending legitimacy to such disinformation. How clearly are these separated from the article itself? Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 13:19, May 10, 2017 (UTC)
Discussions is very very clearly separate from the articles, not least because it is a stand-alone forum-style feature, not linked to any specific article. It's not specifically meant for theories, it's meant to be a space for Discussions on just about anything around the wiki's topic - including theories, but also feedback, content-related conversations and more.
And don't forget: You can decide on what policies you use for Discussions and make it clear what kind of content is allowed and not allowed in the Discussions guidelines. Those will also be readable in the app and by every mobile user. Anyone who is about to create their first post in Discussions is asked to acknowledge those guidelines. Most importantly, though: If your main concern is that Discussions might attract more users who'd like to write about fanon, there's no real reason to fear. App users can't edit articles, so even if they wanted to insert misinformation onto pages, they wouldn't know how. All they can do is start conversations in Discussions in the categories you create. Users in mobile browsers can edit articles, but very few of them ever do, because it's just a bit cumbersome on a mobile screen.
Once we enable Discussions here and create the app for you, I expect mostly an increase in pageviews and hopefully active conversations in Discussions. Which direction those take you can influence to a degree by moderating, setting up guidelines and leading by example. The more guidance the app users receive from experienced wiki editors, the more productive and beneficial Discussions becomes for the wiki. That's what I've seen on other communities. If you feel like you really need to see an example of this to get a better idea, check out Discussions on Wookieepedia or Elder Scrolls! Those aren't really the kind of thing I'd personally enjoy as an on-wiki experience. Lanate (talk) 02:39, May 11, 2017 (UTC)
"Anyone who is about to create their first post in Discussions is asked to acknowledge those guidelines"
God, I wish that worked for our community. Our editing guidelines have ended up being more "quick excuse for admins to get rid of problem editors" instead of having any apparent effect on keeping new editors from making detrimental edits. Even the really specific stuff, like "leave this portion of this specific article alone".Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 13:05, May 11, 2017 (UTC)
Do all Discussions users actually read the whole guidelines before they acknowledge them? Probably not. Just clicking away whatever thing wants your attention before you get to do what you came here to do is pretty much standard practice across the web at large. But at least Discussions comes with its own dedicated and mobile-friendly space where you can put down rules you can refer to.
"Those aren't really the kind of thing I'd personally enjoy as an on-wiki experience." - Perhaps not. Would you deny the opportunity to other users who are into conversations of that kind, though? If you have no interest to take part or moderate yourself, that's perfectly fine. Other communities (such as the Walking Dead Wiki) have made really good experiences with promoting app users to Discussions moderators and letting them take care of things as the wiki's admins were really only there for the editing experience and not interested in Discussions either. So that is an option, if Discussions are just not for you.
The way I see it, adding Discussions to the wiki has no bearing on the wiki's articles whatsoever (unless desktop users join in, too, and coach the new mobile users in what else there is to do in the community), but it opens up a new area for interaction and contribution for a mostly new set of users that had no place here before. There's nothing to lose and perhaps nothing to gain for you personally, but quite a lot to gain for other users who can't participate now.
I'd love to enable Discussions by the end of next week, so we can get started on creating you an app, but I'm here to help you set it up, if you want, and to address any further concerns you have. And if you need any assistance in moderating or in finding good candidates for moderators among the Discussions users, I can help with that, too! Mira Laime @fandom  (help forum | blog) 21:52, May 11, 2017 (UTC)
I'm going to let the others chime in, but my personal opinion is that any space that is associated with the wiki will reflect on it, and a space like Discussions can all too easily become toxic and inane even with moderation, which will definitely negatively impact the wiki. I am personally against enabling Discussions. Lanate (talk) 03:28, May 12, 2017 (UTC)
Without Discussions, there won't be an app for the community because that is now a standard feature for any new apps. I'm positive that the Discussions would not turn toxic or reflect negatively on the wiki (if it has any impact on articles at all), so long as they see at least some basic moderation. So far, I haven't seen a single Discussions community have that problem on other large and active communities, wherever at least one admin or moderator was present.
Trivial conversations that are not at the same level as meticulously researched articles are likely, that's true. After all, people on phones don't usually write long paragraphs, can't care quite as much about spelling as they can comfortably on desktop, and many app users are a bit younger than your typical desktop audience. 53% of your readers already come from mobile phones, though, so I think it's worth taking that risk to give them better access to the wiki. I'd love to hear what G-SANtos and Chimera-gui think, too! Mira Laime @fandom  (help forum | blog) 14:09, May 12, 2017 (UTC)
Sorry to play devil's advocate, but addressing the other admins, I don't really understand how Discussions could impact the wiki in a significantly negative way. From what I've seen on other wikis, Discussions is very much separate - more like a loose extension of the wiki than a central part of it. Also, "toxic" sounds like a worst-case scenario. I don't think the Digimon fandom is quite as rabid as other fandoms... THB Talk 15:42, May 12, 2017 (UTC)
I'd rather prioritize the stuff that has actual importance like the missing Appmon pages and the species pages that have either not been reformatted or are incomplete over a feature that the wikia scarcely needs. Chimera-gui (talk) 15:53, May 12, 2017 (UTC)
I don't think we're as violent as other fandoms -- my main concern is rampant misinformation, and putting the wiki's seal of approval on that. How have other wikis handled that?
(However, I would like to bring up that tri. canonized the whole "if you die in the real world, you die for good" bit. We should update for that.)Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 15:31, May 16, 2017 (UTC)
I'll soften my stance to willing to be overruled, but I'm still close to no. Lanate (talk) 02:43, May 17, 2017 (UTC)
If I try to summarize, it looks like your main concerns are that Discussions wouldn't necessarily benefit the wiki, since it is (at least in its current design and functionality) very much separate from the wiki. At best, nothing changes and it is just an addition that you can choose to either ignore or participate in; and at worst, Discussions becomes a platform for negativity and misinformation that could reflect back negatively on the wiki.
So the potential risks are either very small or really not likely: app users can't edit, the conversation happen in a place separate from articles, and we'll prevent the conversations from becoming too negative or unproductive by giving you any help you need, with moderation initially and finding good moderation candidates among the new Discussions users for the long term. This approach has already worked well on other wikis (such as The Walking Dead, where the admins have chosen to focus on articles instead and not get involved in Discussions).
The potential benefits are small as well - for you personally: You might gain a few new editors for the wiki, if Discussions makes them interested in the wiki at large, but that might be it. For others though, namely the huge percentage of mobile visitors you have, the benefits could be substantial: They can finally participate in the community, even if it's not through editing, and anyone who likes to casually talk about Digimon will have a dedicated space here where they can do that, without interfering in the wiki's editing business. So overall, it seems like there's more to gain than to lose here, and unless you want to, there's absolutely nothing any of you would have to do.
Considering that, we'll turn on Discussions in a week for starters. That alone won't change anything on the wiki, apart from a new link appearing in the nav. There won't be any big influx of mobile users just yet, because it will still take us a few more weeks to actually get your app together and release it to both app stores. Once that happens, there may or may not be an influx of users wanting to discuss Digimon, but we'll have some moderation help ready just in case! Mira Laime @fandom  (help forum | blog) 00:03, May 20, 2017 (UTC)
It's not so much that I'm concerned the material will leak back to the wiki, but that it will leak to the fandom and people will assume it has the wiki's seal of approval. We have a *huge* issue in this fandom with people stating fanon as fact, and we put a lot of focus here on requiring high standards of citation in order to avoid contributing to that.
If other wikis have been able to clearly distinguish between "wiki" and "forum" content, then I withdraw my own objection...but if I start seeing fanon from the discussion here quoted on other websites as "the wiki says", I'm going to want the add-on burned to the ground the add-on will be removed. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 13:10, May 22, 2017 (UTC)
A way to handle that could be to create the categories "Canon" and "Fanon", so all conversations can be put under the right label. For users who don't get this right, admins and mods can move them there. This would require some active supervision by moderators, but that's not much different than monitoring article edits. I'm fairly confident that we can get this started the right way and find moderation help among the Discussions users themselves to keep things organized in the long-term, if the community indeed becomes that active. It's well worth a try! Mira Laime @fandom  (help forum | blog) 00:52, May 23, 2017 (UTC)

I've enabled Discussions for this community. As per your feedback, I've created categories for the posts there to distinguish between fanon and canon. I've also posted an explanatory welcome message and linked to the Wiki's guidelines. For now, you don't have an app yet, so not too many users will find Discussions, and I don't expect much to happen there before the app is released (which could be another 2-4 weeks, depending on this release cycle).

If you feel I left out anything important new users should know, feel free to add to my welcome message or to replace it entirely - as you wish! The same goes for the preliminary categories I created. I myself will keep an eye on the posts there so I can step in if anything goes out of hand, and unless someone from the wiki is interested in moderating there long-term, we'll also keep an eye out for responsible, active Discussions users who could fill that role. Featured Wiki VideosEdit

Hey KrytenKoro. I'm Julia from Fandom's Community team. By now you may have seen our announcement about Wiki Modernization and how we're using featured wiki videos to reduce the number of ads on the site and improve the performance of all Fandom wikis.

As we move forward we plan to have wiki videos in many communities, with Digimon wiki being a candidate for videos. If you are interested in which video types we might use you can find some great examples in this blog post. If we start producing videos we may reach out to you, other admins, and users to be involved in writing video scripts or being part of the production process.

Kryten, can you please explain to me what exactly are these groups called "Families" for in Digimon? Because I only asked what I asked because Pokemon has these groups known as "Egg Groups" which are what determine which Pokemon are compatible for breeding, and I was asking if the Digimon Families have a purpose similar to those of the Egg Groups.

Oh, and can you also explain to me what those classifications for moral alignment known as "Attributes" specifically do and are for among the Digimon, apart from helping them be more effective against other Digimon in battle, similarly to the types in Pokemon. -Chris Urena (talk) 19:57, July 14, 2017 (UTC)

Hello - I wanted to point out a bit of a formatting issue on this wiki's gallery pages. Unlike the rest of the wiki or gallery pages on other wikis, the galleries on the Digimon Wiki do not support all screen sizes - something about the formatting causes the right side of the rightmost images to be partially obscured by the white sidebar on several screen sizes. I'm guessing that the pages were originally formatted on a larger screen and thus did not have this problem.

I have confirmed this - and not my browser or extension - is the problem on a couple of different computers, and with the FANDOM support.

I have some screenshots that show examples of the issue, but I'm not sure if you need them or not. --MarissaBlackwing (talk) 17:28, September 2, 2017 (UTC)

I hope I'm editing this right - but yes, monobook fixes the issue. However, that brings up another point - if it's designed for monobook, isn't there a way to have the wiki set to monobook by default, even without people being signed in? I know I've seen this layout as the current 'visitor/guest view' default on others - the transformers wiki and dragon quest wiki both come to mind as quick examples.

Transformers wiki is not on wikia, as far as I'm aware. Wikia will not let us set monobook to default, so the best we can do is the notice that used to be on the main page (apparently been removed, let me look into that). Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 02:52, September 8, 2017 (UTC)

Permission usage Edit

Hi. My name is Psychid, and I came across you, an active admin for this Wiki, because I would like to get your permissionfor something, if you'll let me. Allow me to elaborate:

I am in the development stage for a fan fiction that takes inspiration from Kingdom Hearts, BIONICLE, and Digimon. In the case of the last part (and I'd like to note that this may or may not make the cut at the end), I was wondering if you would give me permission to use the DigiCode for my Wiki, provided I give you credit for it. In case you're wondering why (and this might contain spoilers, so be warned), it's because I plan to make an AU version of Cyberchase, so it would seem appropriate that there be a language similar to this. I'm not asking to use the font itself, since I believe I can download it from a font website. I would just like your permission in making an article for it for my Wiki, should I use it. (And this wouldn't be me copying and pasting the whole article; I'd say that it'd resemble the DigiCode, and I'd also include a link to that page in a "See Also" section on the article.)

If you have any further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to ask. Hope to hear from you soon! --Yes, it's THE-PSYCHID! He talks! He does stuff! 14:51, November 21, 2017 (UTC)

Re: Discussions Edit

Hey KrytenKoro,

Apologies for the very late reply - I was out on leave and so didn't see your message until now. Are you still wondering why Discussions activity doesn't show on Recent Changes? We've answered this question (and others you might be wondering about) here. In short, moderating Discussions is similar to maintaining articles in that admins and mods have abilities to stop users who are causing trouble, remove bad content, etc. but the tools you'd use differ for the two.

Thanks to Apple's restrictive app store policy at the moment, your wiki still doesn't have an iOS app, and so Discussions here isn't as active as it could be (iOS users don't have the access to it that Android users have), but if you feel you need moderation help with it or have any other questions that the page linked above doesn't address, just let me know! Discussions wasn't implemented with the intention to keep users away from the wiki. The fact that it still seems somewhat separate and most users chat more about the fandom than actually contributing to the wiki is because Discussions still isn't a complete feature, because wiki articles still aren't easily accessible to mobile editors. There's still plenty more we want to do in terms of uniting the two.
Most users in Discussions are accessing your wiki exclusively from the mobile app. Discussions was meant to make our wikis more accessible to mobile users and in that regard, we've succeeded spectacularly - but sadly mobile article editing still isn't where we want it to be. App users don't have the option to edit articles at all and often don't realize they're looking at user-created pages that they could contribute to (via a browser).
That's a shortcoming of our community apps and our editing experience that we're very aware of and that we'll hopefully be able to fix in the future. We also have plans to make it easier for users to move across our platform and discover and contribute to content everywhere, on any device. That's a tall order and a long-term project, but if we do this right, Discussions will no longer feel like a separate space with a separate set of users, but become a more valuable tool for making the wiki grow and improve.
For now, it's up to the non-app user community, especially mods and admins, to integrate more with the app users in Discussions. Active moderation can make the app users more aware about the rest of the wiki and its editor community and move the focus of what's being discussed. That won't eliminate the disconnect completely - FANDOM still has more feature work to do here - but it can go a long way it making Discussions be more valuable for your wiki as a whole. As I said before, Discussions wasn't and isn't meant to add separation to a wiki. Its purpose is a) to work better for mobile visitors than the previous conversation features (like the forums or talk pages) and b) to add a social component to wiki communities, so fans can connect on a personal level as well as write documentation about their favorite fandom. The apps were originally built just so mobile users could view wiki articles more comfortably. At the time, no one foresaw that we'd one day add an interactive feature to them, and that we'd then struggle with the fact that the rest of the content can't be edited via the app. Discussions brought a big influx of new users, but now that they're here, they can't use the rest of the site as well as we'd like them to just yet, and that's understandably frustrating.
We're right now stuck between the past where you could only be a wiki editor and active community member if you were on a computer, and the future we're working towards, where anyone, regardless of the device they're using, can talk about their fandom and edit articles whenever they please. It's not intentional that the Discussions users in the app still have a hard time getting into wiki editing, it's a side effect of as yet unfinished feature work.
Building a conversation feature like Discussions from scratch is a huge undertaking, and we're not done yet, so that's why it still feels like some important capabilities are missing. It'll take some more time (and patience on our users' part) until we get to the point where Discussions and the wiki make a consistent whole, mobile users can post and edit, and desktop users will find Discussions a valuable tool, too. Mira Laime @fandom  (help forum | blog) 17:18, April 11, 2018 (UTC)
Discussions can't simply be turned off - it's integrated into your community app and the browser version, and would require engineering work to remove.
Right now with it on, the wiki's editors can go about their business pretty much exactly as they have before Discussions. The Discussions users (most of whom are using the app) can't edit, but without Discussions, they wouldn't be able to add anything at all to the wiki, and they'd be even less likely to come back and ever turn into active editors.
So adding Discussions hardly changed anything on the wiki article side of things. That all works as before and even the old forum remains for editors to use. It only opened a new, though not-yet complete way of interacting for mobile users. Anyone who doesn't find Discussions useful yet can just completely ignore it. After all, most users probably ignore a bunch of features on FANDOM, because they're not equally interested in all of them. Shutting down Discussions wouldn't have any benefits for the editors, but it could be a big disappointment for the mobile users.
If you do find that Discussions interferes with article editing or wiki maintenance in a way we're not aware of, please let us know the details! Mira Laime @fandom  (help forum | blog) 19:09, April 12, 2018 (UTC)
App users indeed can't see Recent Changes, or Talk Pages, because those aren't in the community apps. Both are tools that are pretty much only used by active editors and people who are more involved in the community, which is why they were never integrated into the community apps. As you now already know, the apps were originally developed with those people in mind who just like to look something up about a fandom, read a couple of articles comfortably on their phone, but no more. Similarly, article comments, blogs, user profiles, special pages, and a bunch of other content types are not part of the app (so far), because they were considered unnecessary for app users at the time.
Now that most users come from mobile and don't just want to read articles but become actively involved, things have changed a lot - it's why we've added Discussions. It's just one step towards allowing app users to participate more fully, too.
I'm not sure why they're saying they can't see mod activity. When a mod deletes a post, it does disappear for regular users, but it doesn't look like much has been deleted in Discussions here so far. There's the reporting feature, and mods and admins have badges on their avatars so they can be recognized. Perhaps they mean they don't see many posts by users who are recognizable as mods, and wonder if there are any in this wiki's Discussions? Why not just ask them what they mean and whether there is something they think needs mod attention? Mira Laime @fandom  (help forum | blog) 19:21, April 13, 2018 (UTC)
I wonder if BlackWarGuilmon is coming to the wiki from the app or the browser. If he's in the app, then we know why he couldn't see any talk pages: They're not implemented in the app. Neither are article comments for those wikis that use them. If he's in the browser, then he should see the talk pages, Recent Changes, etc. regardless of which skin he is using. At least here's a Discussions user who would like to get involved in further improving articles! Mira Laime @fandom  (help forum | blog) 16:10, April 16, 2018 (UTC)
Regarding Discussions posts in Recent Changes: We've deliberately decided against surfacing them there for two reasons: Discussions posts don't need the same level of supervision as article edits do, since they're temporary expressions of opinions, rather than additions to timeless, fact-based pages.
There is a way to work around that, though. We have a user-made custom script you can add to your wiki that creates Special:DiscussionsFeed, a "Recent Changes" specifically for Discussions: DiscussionsFeed. Perhaps that would help? Mira Laime @fandom  (help forum | blog) 15:08, May 29, 2018 (UTC)

From the discussions I've seen, they're not just opinions. A lot of it is the kind of stuff we normally see on talk pages, like requests for information, attempted contributions, and requests for help. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 17:46, May 29, 2018 (UTC)

Another way to put it is that Discussions is for (and mostly contains) social chatter, while articles are for the documentation of facts. That's why article edits require an entirely different kind of supervision and management. If a user in Discussions is asking how to contribute, they're most likely one of the apps users. You can always just let them know to switch to a browser, so they can become active editors! Mira Laime @fandom  (help forum | blog) 23:44, May 30, 2018 (UTC)

Thank you for the proofreading and grammar corrections. I didn't had time to do so and noticed how mentally drained I was when I added those story summaries. Thanks again

Vermilimon Edit

Hi there.

You asked for confirmation that the Vermilimon in Mt. Infinity can use finishing moves. Here you go: Unfortunately, that player interrupted it, but you could at least see the aura around the Vermilimon. Since they are palette swaps of Monochromon, their finisher is the same.

I used to farm these Vermilimon in order to learn the Meltdown move from them. That's when I noticed they could use finishers. I never found any other wild Digimon in Digimon World that could, not even Vermilimon outside Mt. Infinity. Maybe those can do it only due to a bug, but that's a thesis I can't confirm.

I talk to Aaron LaPlante from Facebook if it's true that he voices Hackmon, Meiko's father, Mr. Kido and Jesmon and he said yes. Here is to proof it.

Re: Vermilimon Edit

Sorry for the late response. The terms used for finishing move in Digimon World are "Final" in the menue and "Finish!!" in battle. I guess the former would be the official term. While the game doesn't display the name of a "Final" used by an opponent Digimon, Vermilimon's is visually identical to Monochromon's Volcanic Strike. And since Vermilimon really are just palette-swapped Monochromon in this game, I would assume their "Final" is indeed Volcanic Strike. --RokuroCarisu (talk) 01:42, May 9, 2018 (UTC)

It is the only wild Digimon I have personally witnessed, heard others saying they witnessed or recorded using a Final technique. Hence, I am sure that it was not intended to by the developers, who probably just left that part of Monochromon's code in it by accident. But yes, datamining is probably the only way to really confirm it. --RokuroCarisu (talk) 09:46, May 14, 2018 (UTC)
A wild Monochromon is never fought in the game. When I fight a wild Vermilimon in Mt. Infinity, it does use a Final technique that looks and works identical to Monochromon's. When I fight a wild Vermilimon elsewhere in the game, it does not use a Final technique.--RokuroCarisu (talk) 18:48, June 3, 2018 (UTC)

Digimon Adventure tri.: Coexistence CreditsEdit

They add Aaron LaPlante on credits last night. Can I create page of Aaron LaPlante?

--Kitsunes97 (talk)

It is already on castlist.

Digimon Adventure tri. ActorEdit

Sorry not to your answer hours ago, I was meeting Derek Stephen Prince for autographs, he is very nice guy. About Birdramon line, I talk to Melodee Spevack on Facebook, she said that she didn't voices Garudamon, Phoenixmon in Loss she would love to if she is asked. I check another wiki: Anime Voice-Over or English Voice Over, in Loss, it all said that Mona voices them in Loss and in Coexistence, they use archive of Melodee Spevack who voiced Birdramon and Garudamon for Coexistence and Mona is back to voices Phoenixmon for Chapter 5.

--Kitsunes97 (talk)

According to a Facebook live video, Mona Marshall confirmed that the only voice she done for tri. is Izzy. I don't know where Anime Voice over recieved that false info, but it's wrong --Magnaangemon92 (talk) 20:34, May 25, 2018 (UTC)

I noticed you writing for the videos to be removed but I don't think you're going to be able to. Videos are all over other fandoms. For example, , , this is seemingly something they're doing for the most popular fandoms and there's hundreds on this Wiki. Think of a popular Digimon and it has one.Marcusbwfc (talk) 20:38, May 25, 2018 (UTC)

Re: Videos Edit

The videos you're describing are Featured Videos. They were added to your wiki several months ago by FANDOM staff.

Please send us your feedback (i.e. the points of criticism you mentioned here) via Special:Contact, so we can make sure it reaches the right person within FANDOM. They'll see if the errors can be corrected. Thanks! Mira Laime @fandom  (help forum | blog) 22:35, May 25, 2018 (UTC)

FANDOM certainly has nothing to gain from displaying unhelpful videos with errors, and I do hope we can work with your community on improving them to the point where they become the valuable addition to the wiki they were supposed to be in the first place. Do please send your (very justified) feedback via Special:Contact, though, so we can pass it on to our video team. They are the right people to work on this with you, but they don't generally get involved on users' talk pages. If you've already done that (I may have missed it), my apologies! Mira Laime @fandom  (help forum | blog) 15:02, May 29, 2018 (UTC)
I can only repeat my request that you please send your questions and feedback on the Featured Videos through Special:Contact. Otherwise the FANDOM Support team (of which I'm a member) can't pass them on to the appropriate team, and we can't address these problems. Members of the video team can then discuss with you how you might get a list of all of the videos, they can take your suggestions on how to correct them and/or move them, etc. Mira Laime @fandom  (help forum | blog) 23:38, May 30, 2018 (UTC)
