Wendigomon[]

This happens in the moral, wrathful, and harmonious routes.
Wendigomon s

Wendigomon is one of Lopmon's Champion forms.

When the group, sans Shuuji Kayama, come to the conclusion they need to talk to the kidnappers to find out more information about the World since they're the ones who are sacrificing children — they figure out the enemy base is passed the waterway. As they travel there, Arukenimon follows them unnoticed. As she stalks them, she sees Shuuji bullying Lopmon — and finding that to be interesting, comes up with a plan to use it to her advantage.

As the group travel through the waterway, Arukenimon is eventually discovered by Falcomon. She plays coy and asks them why they were there, pretending she had been there the entire time. She threatens to kill them, though rather than fight them — since she was outnumbered — she creates a thick gas which knocks the entire group out. She splits them all up into different parts of the waterway and has her minions pretend to be fake versions of the partner Kemonogami, who insult them and even try to kill them, though the children are able to figure out that they were fake and not their actual partners since they would never do those things. The exception is Shuuji, who she has see fake versions of his father instead. After the group reunite with Shuuji his mental state taken a turn for the worse and he runs away, claiming to hear voices. He runs into a fake version of Arukenimon and, remembering they were meant to be asking the kidnappers about the world tells her that they just want to go home and didn't want to fight her or her allies in the first place. The fake Arukenimon tells him that she will let them go home, though only if they give her a sacrifice as compensation. Shuuji initially agrees, though realizes that he doesn't have it in him to sacrifice one of the others. Instead, he offers himself up as a sacrifice with the fake Arukenimon summoning MegaSeadramon to do the job. Shuuji freaks out, stating he doesn't want to die, which amuses Arukenimon. Lopmon arrives and tries to protect him, but is easily defeated. Shuuji, angry at how weak Lopmon is, tells it that if it could evolve it would be able to kill the enemies and attacks it — his hatred for Lopmon reaching its breaking point. As he beats up Lopmon, the others arrive and try to stop him though the real Arukenimon summons the real MegaSeadramon and has it stall them. As the group fight MegaSeadramon, Shuuji continues to beat up Lopmon and tells it to evolve and kill their enemies. Lopmon begs him to stop, but he refuses to do so and Lopmon eventually dark evolves to Wendigomon. Shuuji, now with his partner evolved, tells it to kill the enemy and it proceeds to easily kill the real MegaSeadramon. He tells it that they will kill every evil monster that looks down on him, however Wendigomon instead grabs Shuuji and starts to eat him. Arukenimon laughs in delight, and watches it as it attacks the other children as well.

As the children fight Wendigomon in self defence, their attacks do very little to the enraged beast. They hear Shuuji's voice coming out of Wendigomon, with him claiming that he deserves to die. Realizing that he isn't dead yet they decide they would save both Lopmon and Shuuji with their desire to do so causing Agumon to evolve to the Ultimate level. The group are able to defeat Wendigomon, however the fog surrounds it with it spawning a large amount of hands that proceed to kill Wendigomon. As Shuuji was still inside Wendigomon's mouth, he dies alongside his partner.

As he beats up Lopmon, the others arrive with Ryo Tominaga charging in and punching him the face telling him he is a dick, that Lopmon doesn't deserve to be physically beaten up, and that he was doing his best to keep Shuuji safe. Shuuji realizes that Ryo was right, though sick of seeing this happen Arukenimon interrupts and decides to kill them. The others arrive as Arukenimon summons the real MegaSeadramon, who proceeds to attack the kids. As they fight MegaSeadramon, Shuuji sees Lopmon's wounds and worries for him. Lopmon asks if he had been useful to him, with Shuuji shocked that Lopmon still cared about him. He tells Lopmon that he saw his own weaknesses inside him and tells him that Lopmon is far stronger than he has ever been. Lopmon is happy that Shuuji was finally nice to him, with Shuuji stating that he wants to be able to protect everyone and become someone that Lopmon could be proud of. Lopmon begins to evolve, with Shuuji thinking this was Lopmon about to die and that he needs to heal him though instead Lopmon evolves to Turuiemon and joins the battle. Having seen Shuuji's new resolve, Takuma Momozuka states that he too has the desire to save and protect and desires more power so that he can get revenge on the evil Kemonogami for what they had tried to do this Shuuji. This causes Agumon to warp evolve to Ultimate, with Turuiemon and Agumon's evolution adding enough fire power for the children to defeat MegaSeadramon. Shocked at MegaSeadramon having lost, Arukenimon runs away.

Lopmon, wanting to protect his partner, tries his best to defeat it but struggles with Shuuji telling him to just run away and save himself. Seeing his partner struggle, Shuuji doubts himself saying he can't do anything right and that no one will ever believe in him. Lopmon tells him that he will always believe in him no matter what, with this spurring on Shuuji to fight Kabuterimon himself to save Lopmon, with him telling Lopmon just how important he is to him.
