As the DigiDestined stare up at the white void that has appeared in a crack in the Digital World's sky, their Digivices soon allow them to contact Leomon and Lopmon, who confirm that the voids are appearing all over the Digital World, and even on the ground, where Digimon who make contact with them are instantly deleted. Soon, dark tendrils extend out of the voids and attack the Digital World below. The DigiDestined are grabbed by one tentacle and pulled towards the void, but are protected by their Digivices from the effects the tendril has on their data-based bodies. However, they are separated from their Digimon partners.
In the void, they meet the Ultimate Argomon, who explains everything to them about Negamon and its intentions to wipe out everything, despite the natural life cycle of Digimon with birth, death, reincarnation, etc. Digivolving into its alternate Worm Phase Ultimate form and then its Mega form, the Argomon prepares to deal with the DigiDestined itself so that they cannot stop Negamon. Meanwhile, Garbagemon, Searchmon and Wisemon attempt to help the DigiDestined by launching their partners into the void using Garbagemon's can as a bazooka, but several Champion Argomon stop them each time. Luckily, Komondomon launches himself up to the Digimon partners and is able to catapult them into the void before falling back into the water below, actually speaking in a clear voice instead of its canine barks and howls, saying that everyone is counting on them. Once in the void, the Digimon call out to their respective DigiDestined, and Tai and Matt are able to get Agumon and Gabumon to digivolve into their Champion forms with Greymon destroying the pursuing Argomon and Garurumon freeing the Digidestined. With more Champion Argomon approaching, the other Digimon digivolve to their Champion forms to assist, then Ultimate to try and fight the Mega Argomon, then finally their own Mega forms, with Phoenixmon, Rosemon, Vikemon, and HerculesKabuterimon punching through the Mega Argomon's chest in mid-digivolution, before WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon shred the Mega Argomon to pieces when they finish their digivolutions inside its chest.
However, despite its death, the Mega Argomon still warns the DigiDestined that Negamon cannot be stopped from completing its master plan, as back in the Real World, the sky begins to crack in a similar way to where the voids are appearing in the Digital World, meaning Negamon is also going after the Real World as well to wipe out everything.
