See DigimonWiki:Sandbox for a version of this code that only takes one argument, in the form of a string. We'd need to recode everything we already have using this, but it would make it less tiresome going forward. Any interst? Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 02:46, April 7, 2015 (UTC)

What about the other template? Chimera-gui (talk) 17:58, November 19, 2015 (UTC)
It could be done, but we'd have to have standard two-character width entries for each kana, even vowels or n, and it's a bit more difficult to code. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 18:00, November 19, 2015 (UTC)
Okay, I just wondered if it was possible. Seems like something that would be cool to have. Would it be possible to merge the two templates as well? Chimera-gui (talk) 18:35, November 19, 2015 (UTC)
Not without completely restructuring how we use it on each page. I mean, if we convert the romaji into actual kana for the Japanese digicode, it could be added in, but it would require a lot of rewrites. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 19:25, November 19, 2015 (UTC)
Thought I should ask about it since it would reduce the number of templates needed for writing DigiCode. Chimera-gui (talk) 19:55, November 19, 2015 (UTC)
It would require that editors have access to the Japanese IME keyboard, though, as there's no real way to incorporate it into the same template without having it recognize the kana by the actual kana, rather than their romaji. If the principle of the template is to make it easier to edit, I'm not sure how that actually improves usability. Basically, things should not be templated so that we have the least amount of templates, but so that it is easiest for editors to create new content. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 20:21, November 19, 2015 (UTC)
I understand the issue with merging the templates, but we can still recode the other template so it will turn the romaji into DigiCode though, right? Chimera-gui (talk) 20:46, November 19, 2015 (UTC)
Sure, as long as we go back and change every instance of a single-character romaji into a double-character ("a" to "ax", etc.). I don't see how we could code this template to be able to distinguish the romaji from English, though. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 20:55, November 19, 2015 (UTC)
Well until a way is found, we may as well keep the templates separate. If a way to code the template for this exists, then the templates can be merged. Sound good? Chimera-gui (talk) 21:01, November 19, 2015 (UTC)
