What source is superior to you guys; Digimon World 3 or a card released after the game?--Deviate85 22:48, April 30, 2011 (UTC)

I thought DW3 was.Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 23:03, April 30, 2011 (UTC)
Our policy, IIRC, is Anime > Manga > Video Games > Cards. Manga might be differently placed though. Lanate (talk) 02:12, May 1, 2011 (UTC)

It says at the bottom of the card (DM-239) that it evolves from Brimpmon (Blimpmon presumably) and Tortomon. Is this even credible? Canuck1990 (talk) 11:31, November 29, 2012 (UTC)

Do you mean, is the card officially published as part of the Digimon franchise? Yes. Do you mean, are the evolutions acceptable to be placed in the infobox? Hell no per DW:EVOLVE, because this is the kind of meaningless gamecruft that evolutions have had since literally the very first v-pet.Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 21:27, November 29, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I meant whether the evolutions are acceptable and even 'legitimate' to begin with, but from this type of source I guess they're not. Aesthetically I could actually sort of see Tortomon evolving into this. And by "meaningless gamecruft" did you mean that American merchandise tended to add on this sort of thing? Canuck1990 (talk) 23:15, December 2, 2012 (UTC)
It means stuff like ExVeemon to Flamedramon in Digimon World DS or Angemon to Angewomon in Digimon World 3. Lanate (talk) 01:50, December 3, 2012 (UTC)
I also meant that the Japanese merch had nonsense evolutions from literally the very first v-pet for the sole reason that, if they didn't, you wouldn't be able to play as those characters. Agumon > Devimon for instance. The franchise's silliness is hardly an invention of the American dub.Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 06:34, December 3, 2012 (UTC)
So this card was published by Bandai America though, right? But then where on earth did the pre-evolutions of Blimpmon and Tortomon come from, if not Japanese? It was just made up by them? They're certainly not listed on Wikimon. Canuck1990 (talk) 14:37, December 3, 2012 (UTC)
Oooooooooh. Yeah, it was probably made up for the American card game, since the American CCG cards were not based on any Japanese DMCG cards, unlike the DigiBattle Card Game from earlier on.
That being said, that doesn't make it any more or less "legitimate" for our purposes. So long as it's published as an official part of the Digimon franchise, we seek to cover it; the thing about the infobox is that several of the parameters, like evolution, are restricted to character-based info, because including that stat for every appearance of the species would make the infobox longer than the entire rest of the page. Now activating Project: SPIDERS EVERYWHERE 14:59, December 3, 2012 (UTC)
