Synopsis[]
In Cross Connectia, Cool Boy watches as Omnimon (X Antibody) kills an NPC's Kuwagamon (X Antibody) — which also destroys the NPC. With the coast now clear, Cool Boy tells Turbomon that it was safe and that it could come out as he had defeated all the NPC. He tells it to be careful and that if it wants to survive, it should find itself some friends. After it agrees to this suggestion, Cool Boy happily departs from it — as he had other things to check out.
Cool Boy checks out the damaged body of the defeated NPC, and finds a clue. He wonders to himself about how long he had been trapped inside Cross Connectia, and when he'd be able to return to LACUNA — thinking to himself on how he would have to leave LACUNA to the debug team and admins.
In the Inferno Zone within the Ruby Mountain, Shoto Kazama defeats an unspecified opponent in a duel. Shoto asks Owen Dreadnought how the duel was, with Owen saying it was "not bad". When Shoto asks about the weird reply, Owen points out that Shoto misplayed a bunch — with an exasperated Shoto listening to Owen going through them all. Owen praises Shoto for having lost his habit of giving up easily, though also tells him his instincts were better when he was a kid. As Shoto retorts that Owen is just putting younger Shoto on a pedestal, Owen says it's fine as it just means Shoto has got more room to grow and that one day he may be able to give him a proper fight. When Shoto enquires as to when he'll be able to give him said fight, Owen says "maybe in three years". As an angry Shoto rants, Elizamon talks about how it just can't get used to Owen having so much fun.
As Elizamon and Pteromon discuss how Owen's changed recently, Pteromon asks if Elizamon disliked the changes — with Elizamon saying no, she actually thinks he's become even more adorable than before. Elizamon thanks Pteromon for becoming friends with Owen, since it and Shoto were having a positive effect on him — with Pteromon telling Elizamon it should be saying that to Shoto, not it. After Elizamon says it one day will make sure to do so, it asks if Pteromon was okay as it had noticed the BT20-1010: Zephagamon ACE card had been causing issues for it — something Owen and Shoto hadn't seemed to have noticed. Pteromon tells Elizamon it'll be fine and that it shouldn't worry about it, though as Elizamon continues to worry — Pteromon reminds it that it had told it not to worry and that it should go talk to Shoto about it if it was really worried as it didn't want to talk to Shoto about it. Elizamon says that if something happens, Pteromon can't say it wasn't warned — with Pteromon insisting that nothing would happen. It ends the conversation by thanking it for worrying, then flies over to Shoto.
In a private room in the Garden, Yao Qinglan thanks back to the past when she was a hacker. She had been seen and chased by a group of people, with Cool Boy coming to her aid. She's snapped out of it by Omekamon though, who points out how tired she seemed to be and asks if she was going to be logging out soon. She says she can't, and that she has to hold things together since Cool Boy was missing. With her having brought him up, Omekamon mentions that Cool Boy had been located — with their analysis of the USB he had given Yao turning out to have a program within it that would allow them to track him. As they wonder if he knew something was going to happen to him, Yao comes to the conclusion that Cool Boy had suspected Unchained was up to something. Omekamon doubts this though, as it would mean Unchained had kidnapped Cool Boy and Unchained had no motives to do that. Yao figures Cool Boy would know why and that it was even more reason as to why they needed to get him back. When Yao asks where Cool Boy was, Omekamon says he was trapped inside the game Cross Connectia and wasn't allowed to log out.

Synopsis[]
Two days after Yao Qinglan found out that Cool Boy had been trapped inside Cross Connectia; Yuuki, Winr, Ryutaro Williams, Suzune Kazuki, and Altea wait in the briefing room within Avalon. Yuuki complains at it being hot, though Winr points out that wasn't the case as they were inside LACUNA and as such it wasn't hot. Yuuki says that ever since they got the T.A.L.E home dev kits that allow them to change their clothes to be summery, she had started feeling the heat and begins complaining about how everyone else was getting to run around in summer clothes whilst they were stuck in the debriefing room in their regular clothes since they were logged with their regular work dev kits. Winr tries to calm her down by saying how she looks cool in her regular clothes, though it doesn't work. Everyone else simply watches as the two argue, deciding not to get involved.
Yao eventually arrives, and explains to the group about how Cool Boy had been trapped and that she was giving them a special mission to save him. She also tells them that they had since learned that Zenith's data that had gotten corrupted during the BlackImperialdramon incident had also ended up in Cross Connectia. Ryutaro says that he had heard about Zenith's corrupted data, but had also heard Zenith himself was fine — with Yao saying that Zenith had actually gone missing shortly after the incident. Map data damaged by the Imperialdramon had also ended up in the game as well. Suzune brings up how the "Alice glitch" that traps players within virtual worlds had been dealt with more than a decade before, and asks Yao where Cool Boy's real body was — with Suzune pressing her more and more as Yao doesn't answer. Yuuki cuts Suzune off and says that the group will just go to Cross Connectia to save Cool Boy and Zenith's data, with Winr's shocked reaction that Yuuki knows the term "killing two birds with one stone" turning the mood from serious to silly. With the mood change calming Yao down, she apologizes to Suzune and says she will tell her soon, though Suzune says she should be the one apologizing and that she was just worried about the possibility that the Alice glitch had returned. The group accept the mission, with Yao giving them all access to Cross Connectia.
Though everyone else transfers from Digimon Liberator to Cross Connectia, Yuuki cancels her transfer mid way and says that Yao mentioning Cross Connectia was an unfinished game was bugging her and asks if she can check something out first — with Yao agreeing. This winds up being beneficial, as Yao remembers she forgot to tell everyone that she had sent Mirai Kinosaki ahead of them, and that they all needed to meet up with her within the game. Right as Yuuki leaves, Unchained arrives and says to a shocked Yao that everything was going according to plan.
Inside the Amethyst City, Arisa Kinosaki looks in awe at the skyscrapers whilst hanging out with Violet "Vi" Inboots and Close. They talk about how their hard work had paid off, and that a quest was going to happen there that tied into the game's main storyline. They were actually there early though, since no release date had been given for said quest. The trio's D-STORAGE send them emergency alerts, with Yao telling everyone to log out of the game immediately as the Garden's systems had been compromised. As the group try to log out, they find they are unable to — the log out feature had been removed. The trio are attacked by lightning, though are able to get out of the way just in time. As Close looks up at the sky, she notices that something was up with E.G.G. and then thinks about Unchained.
