Spadamon is a Weapon Digimon. One of the legendary "Legend-Arms" who, according to legend, "if held by an angel will save the world, and if held by a demon will destroy the world", it is a Weapon Digimon that transforms itself into a weapon. Although its personality is earnest and serious, it has a side that is weak to pressure. Its combat abilities are low, but it shows its true merit once it becomes a weapon.[3] It is the last, and the strongest, of the Legend-Arms in the LS-tou Zone. Since the LS-tou Zone kept being exposed to aggression from invaders, Spadamon was used as a trump card to pull them back from the edge of defeat, and it was released in a different Zone once its abilities were sealed along with its memories by its Legend-Arms comrades... it seems. Because its memories surrounding the seal have also vanished, it does not remember the exact details of where its memories are hidden and how to recover its abilities. After Spadamon escaped, the Zone was occupied by the invading army, and all of the Legend-Arms but Spadamon were defeated and went into stasis. Spadamon, who returned to the LS-tou Zone secretly, cannot currently remember how to recover its own true strength, but will fight against the invading force. Although its personality is to be earnest and serious, it is weak to pressure and ad-libbing due to its obsessive type. It is extremely fond of sweets, and has an obsessive level of belief in "replenishing sugar for fatigue."[4]

At some point, a Spadamon was one of the countless Digimon captured and kept prisoner inside cages by WaruMonzaemon at the Crossroads Fortress. When Shuu Yulin and Ryudamon travel there looking for BlackAgumon, they see all the caged up Digimon. Ryudamon fights WaruMonzaemon, with all of its Iai Blade attacks missing WaruMonzaemon. This was intentional though, as Ryudamon wasn't aiming for WaruMonazemon — it was aiming for the cages, with this freeing all of the captive Digimon. When WaruMonzaemon was about to kill Ryudamon, most of the freed Digimon confront it and say to let Ryudamon go. WaruMonzaemon beats all of them up, though this just causes Ryudamon to warp digivolve to Hisyaryumon and kill WaruMonzaemon. The former prisoners then thank their heroes as they leave.
