Saki Kimishima (君島 サキ, Kimishima Saki^?) is a main character in Digimon Survive.

Description

Saki is a natural optimist that does things based on how she feels. She is known for her lovely appearance and outspoken conduct and has a free-willing and honest personality. She will make her feelings known no matter the situation, which often results in arguments with her friends. This personality remains unchanged even whilst stuck in the alternate world. She refuses to accept that death is a reality, and chooses to believe that everything will be okay. She joined the extracurricular camp so that she could make more memories with her friends, however none of her friends joined her in the camp because they find her bothersome and annoying despite the fact she looks popular. To get her mind off the fact she was ditched by her friends, she decides to try and make friends with Takuma Momozuka and his friends, which causes her to end up in the alternate world as well due to following them.

Saki has an unspecified illness, that severely shortens her lifespan and causes her immense pain if she exerts too much energy to the level she will be unable to move. She spends a lot of time in the hospital as a result, and was supposed to get surgery for it after camp, but ended up in the alternate world. In certain routes, Floramon is able to evolve to Ceresmon Medium with her using her new found power to mitigate the effects of the illness.

Saki hates being alone, and will do anything to avoid being by herself. She acts nice to everyone, hoping that they would like her as a result and doesn't want a single person to hate her. Any instance of someone being upset at her will see her try to change the other person's opinion even if she has to lie to get them to like her. Her desire to never be alone causes her to cling to others and when she was at camp and had no friends there she attached herself to Ryo Tominaga having seen he had no friends too so figured she could be with him and neither of them would be alone. Ryo tried his best to lose her, since he preferred to be on his own, but she followed him around everywhere and he eventually gave up. Upon gaining Floramon, she was able to find someone who never wanted to leave her side which allowed her to finally have a true friend. The other humans and Kemonogami in the alternate world also all became her close friends allowing Saki to act as herself, rather than lie to people hoping it'd make her friends, knowing she now had true friends.

Fiction

Once a month, Saki would take a detour from school whilst on the way home to make things more interesting since every day was the same at the hospital with nothing ever changing in regards to her condition. One day, when at school, she saw a flyer for the extracurricular camp and asked the doctors if she could go, with them allowing her to do so. Her mother refused at first, though ended up agreeing when Saki guilt trip her into it by mentioning it may be the only time she gets to go to camp since her illness might end her life before she ever gets another chance to go to camp. Though her mother agreed, she did so with tears due to what Saki said being dark. Though Saki felt bad she had used it against her like that, she really did feel like it could be the only time she could go to camp. Now able to do something different for once, she was excited to go to camp and make some memories.
