RaptorSparrowmon is a Cyborg Digimon. It is a digivolution of Sparrowmon whose whole body became armored in Chrome Digizoid metal. It has eliminated its disadvantageous weakness to strikes by means of the Chrome Digizoid armor, and with its flexible wings it has gained the ability to make sharp, high-speed turns. Although its fortes are hit-and-run, battlefield disruption, and the like, its moody personality hasn't changed, and it frequently makes blunders.[3]
Attacks
- Raptor Grapple: Grabs the foe and lifts them high in the air, then dives down and flings them to the ground.
- Crash Charge: Rams into foes with its new Chrome Digizoid armor.
Design[]
RaptorSparrowmon takes the form of a mechanical bird of prey. It has large wings with a green orb at its elbow joins, and the metallic plating on its wings resemble feathers. Its feet are elongated into talons. It retains Sparrowmon's yellow color scheme, though more of it is metallic grey, and its face is still recognizably Sparrowmon, though the ear protrusions are larger.
Etymologies[]
- RaptorSparrowmon
(ラプタースパロウモン) Official romanization given by the Digimon Reference Book and used in the franchise.
- Raptor. Probably a pun on Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor and a common term for a bird of prey.
- Sparrow. Probably a pun on Heinkel He 162 and the sparrow (Petronia xanthocollis).[4]
