Proximamon is a Unique Digimon. It is a mysterious Digimon that commands the powers of creation and destruction. Simulations run on high-speed processors predict the "theoretical" manifestation of this Digimon, but whether it actually exists in the Digital World is unknown. Capable of producing the conflicting forces of holy and evil energies, it is said to have the ability to disintegrate any matter within the Digital World and then reconstitute the disparate materials into wholly new configurations. By simply existing, Proximamon would rip apart and recreate all nearby Digimon and even the surrounding environment itself. The appearance of this Digimon could potentially rewrite the entire Digital World in an instant. To avert this catastrophe, all data concerning the simulated requirements to digivolve into Proximamon are a fiercely guarded secret. Its "Extinction Cloud" and "Light of Re-creation" are permanently activated.[1]

Design[]
Like the other species related to Gammamon, Proximamon is named after a significant star visible from Earth, Proxima Centauri. Proximamon is a Digimon who synthesizes holiness and evilness into one being, and its name symbolizes that juxtaposition. Proxima Centauri is the closest star to Earth, and yet it is a small star invisible to the naked eye, conforming to the dark and "evil" side of Proximamon. At the same time, it is part of a star system with the binary pair Alpha Centauri, which are the brightest stars in the sky after Sirius (represented by Siriusmon) and Canopus (represented by Canoweissmon), which corresponds to the light and "holy" side of Proximamon. Befitting this combination, Proximamon is a centaurian dragon with a white, humanoid upper body and a black, therian lower body.
