Phil (サム, Samu^?, lit. "Sam") is an American DigiDestined partnered with Flarerizamon.

Sam has dark skin, and wears a red and white cap with the letter D on it.

Description

In accordance to the plan of Benjamin, Gennai's American counterpart, he leads the Digimon he gathered around America to Central Park in New York City. As he and Flarerizamon lead the Digimon near Rockefeller Center, a Cherrymon becomes hostile after seeing a Christmas Tree. Phil tries to calm it down but fails to do so. He then has Flarerizamon try to subdue the Cherrymon but he fails as well. He then calls the other American DigiDestined for help.

Davis, Mimi, Michael and their partner Digimon arrive first to help but the Cherrymon manages to overpower them all. One-by-one, Maria, Lou and Steve arrive to help and introduce themselves. Together, they defeat the Cherrymon and proceed to bring all the Digimon to Cental Park. On the way there, Phil rests on the Cherrymon.

After Davis sends all the Digimon back to the Digital World, he and all the American DigiDestined cheer for a job well done. When Mimi's parents arrive shortly afterwards and ask where the Digimon are, he and the others pretend not to know what they're talking about.

In A Million Points of Light, he makes his last appearance in the battle against MaloMyotismon. He is seen in the streets of New York, raising his Digivice with Mimi, Michael, Maria, Lou, and Steve. After calling out the name of his partner Digimon and sending the light of his Digivice to the sky, he is transported to the Digital World along with his fellow American DigiDestined.

Flarerizamon is Phil's Partner Digimon. Shortly after the Christmas of 2002, wild Digimon appeared all over the world. Flarerizamon and his partner Phil helped escort the escaped Digimon around America to a rendezvous point in New York City so that they could be returned to the Digital World. However, a Cherrymon they are escorting goes berserk when it sees the Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center, and begins attacking it. Flarerizamon attempts to pacify the Cherrymon on its own, but is unable to calm it down even after ExVeemon, Lillymon, and Seadramon show up to help. Soon, Centarumon, Frigimon, and Tortomon also arrive and are able to weaken Cherrymon, allowing Flarerizamon to attack alongside the Japanese Digimon and knock the tree Digimon unconscious. Flarerizamon later makes an appearance during the final battle against MaloMyotismon, and lends his energy to the DigiDestined to defeat the demon lord Digimon.
