Design

Omnimon Merciful Mode is an Omnimon with green eyes, light blue neon lights in many parts of its body, which were inspired by Kamen Rider and Kikaider[5], and light blueish white wings which were designed to be similar to scarves, which were inspired by Kamen Rider as well,[5] instead of a cape. Its sword, known as the Fearsome Blade, resembles a katana, which was chosen due to the katana's Japanese influence.[5]

Omnimon Merciful Mode was designed by Kenji Watanabe. He originally turned down designing it, as he didn't want there to be more Omnimon variants, though later changed his mind as the story of Digimon Adventure tri. required a new one. Merciful Mode was originally just going to be a golden recolour of Omnimon.[5]

Fiction
