At some point, after Japan passed the Cybersecurity Act in 2015, the government formed an organization to protect the Real World from Digital World threats. Mitsuo Yamaki was hired to command operations.
In 2018, in order to combat the Malice Bot, NYX gathered the Tamers Henry Wong and Rika Nonaka, and attempted to summon the missing Takato Matsuki with the Re-Animator, believing Takato was in the Digital World, but instead created a copy of the 2004 Takato. After that, they try to call their Partners Guilmon, Terriermon, and Renamon from the Digital World, but only succeeds with the first two, who inform them Renamon is missing. In 2021, Henry is now the Chief Officer and Jeri Katou and Calumon have also joined the group as well. They continue to combat Digimon related problems, though Yamaki and Impmon are able to talk them into dealing with cyber attacks as well, despite Henry's reservations about dealing with non Digimon related problems.
