MetalGreymon (Virus) is a Cyborg Digimon. It is the strongest Cyborg Digimon, and after going through numerous battles, it was able to survive by mechanizing more than half its body, using technology appropriated from Andromon.[7] The MetalGreymon of File Island were able to drastically extend their vital functions through remodeling, but their flesh portions could not hold out and were discolored into a blue hue.[8] In order to digivolve to MetalGreymon, it must fight its way through and defeat the formidable opponents who come against it. Also, its offensive power is said to equal that of a single nuclear warhead.[9]
Attacks
- Giga Blaster[10] (Giga Destroyer): Fires missiles from the hatch on part of its chest.
- Trident Arm[11]: Launches its tethered metal claw off its arm to slash or wrap up enemies.
- Metal Slash: Slashes with its claw.
- Flame of Fury[12] (Revenge Flame): Unleashes a wave of fire from its claw.
- Booster Claw
- Megaton Punch
Design[]
MetalGreymon (Virus) is a bipedal reptilian Digimon whose design carries elements of the Ceratosaurus and the classic monster Gomora albeit mechanized resulting in it having missile hatches on its chest and robotic mechanisms under its skin which are partially exposed on its tail and thighs. It has three clawed fingers on its hands and three clawed toes on its feet, with claws protruding from its heels. It wears a metallic rhinoceros beetle-like helmet on its head with red hair underneath on the back of its head and its left arm is robotic with a tether connecting its hand. It has purple tattered wings on its back and its skin was tinted blue due to the remodeling, giving it a more monstrous appearance.
Its various appearances display differences in design. In Digimon World and on its original Bandai artwork, MetalGreymon lacks its blue stripes, instead its mechanical implants are more visible on its legs. In Digimon Adventure 02, MetalGreymon regains its blue stripes, and in Digimon New Century, MetalGreymon has three blue bands on its right bicep, imitating the Dark Spiral MetalGreymon wore in Digimon Adventure 02.

Digimon Paradox[]
When Reiji Shinonome, Eve, and Elecmon use the Network to try and travel to Kyoto, an unknown human sends MetalGreymon to attack them. It blows up the tori gates as they were about to arrive, Eve thinking that it was actually the digivolved Devidramon, with Reiji and Elecmon excited to beat it up. Reiji's baseball bat-lead attack does nothing, with MetalGreymon able to effortless swat him away. With Elecmon freaking out over its partner's well being, Eve summons Kuwagamon to attack. Elecmon, seeing its partner in a bloody mess cries — then angrily digivolves to DarkTyrannomon with the intent to kill MetalGreymon in revenge. The unknown human watches on, and says the plan was going perfectly and tells someone to collect that one too. Kuwagamon asks Eve permission to kill DarkTyrannomon, though Reiji gets up and reminds her of the promise she made not to kill it. DarkTyrannomon snaps out of its rampage, with Eve surprised at the fact it was able to control itself. She sends Kuwagamon to join its side, with Reiji declaring he will get Eve's time machine back. A dark aura manifests, with the unknown human's voice coming through it — with it stating that Reiji knows nothing. As Reiji realizes MetalGreymon was far too strong and that DarkTyrannomon was going to die, Eve has Kuwagamon attack it to buy Reiji time and tells him to restrain MetalGreymon. He has no idea how, though notices the Tori gates and says they can use them to restrain it. Kuwagamon's distractions are enough for DarkTyrannomon to put the plan into motion, with MetalGreymon now restrained on the floor. Kuwagamon prepares to kill it, though Reiji yells out for it to stop. Eve is surprised, with Reiji saying he will not allow her to kill MetalGreymon. Instead, he has her put it into a freeze stasis. The unknown human says he had made a mistake, though now knows how strong they are and would be the one to seek them next time. He reveals himself to Eve, with a shocked Eve recognising him. Later that night, Eve realizes it wasn't Devidramon when she analyse's MetalGreymon's code. Beyond the Rain
