MetalGreymon (Vaccine) is a Cyborg Digimon. It has mechanized more than half of its body, incorporating technology appropriated from Andromon.[16] The MetalGreymon of Folder Continent are Cyborg Digimon that succeed in perfectly digivolving from Greymon,[17] and draw out a stronger power which cannot be compared with those of File Island.[18] In order to digivolve to MetalGreymon, it must fight its way through and defeat the formidable opponents who come against it. Also, MetalGreymon's offensive power is said to equal that of a single nuclear warhead, and if the likes of a low-level Digimon suffered that blow, it would be annihilated without leaving a trace. Its "Trident Arm" is made from enhanced Chrome Digizoid.[19]
Attacks
- Mega Claw[20] (Trident Arm): Launches its tethered Trident Arm to slash or wrap up enemies.
- Giga Blaster[21] (Giga Destroyer): Fires organic missiles from the hatch on part of its chest.
- Metal Arm
- Metal Slash: Slashes with its claw.
- Terra Destroyer (Tera Destroyer): Launches an enhanced version of its "Giga Blaster" attack.
- Metal Slash II (メタルスラッシュ改 Metal Slash Kai?, lit. "Metal Slash Revision"): Slashes with its claw.
- Powerful Flame (Overflame): Unleashes a wave of fire from its claw. In Digimon Adventure (PSP) and Digimon New Century it breaths fire from its mouth.
- Body Blow
- Giga Storm [22]: Sends out a high-temperature energy wave from the firing ports on its chest.
Design[]
MetalGreymon (Vaccine) is a bipedal reptilian Digimon whose design carries elements of the Ceratosaurus and the classic monster Gomora albeit mechanized resulting in it having missile hatches on its chest and robotic mechanisms under it skin which are partially exposed on its tail. It has three clawed fingers on its hands and three clawed toes on its feet, with claws protruding from its heels. It wears a metallic rhinoceros beetle-like helmet on its head with red hair underneath on the back of its head and its left arm is robotic with a tether connecting its hand. It has purple tattered wings on its back and unlike MetalGreymon (Virus), its skin is not discolored blue instead retaining the coloring of Greymon. Moreover, it has dark brown horns and blue eyes instead of MetalGreymon (Virus)'s silver horns and yellow eyes, although there are exceptions in some media.
Etymologies[]
- MetalGreymon (Vaccine) (メタルグレイモン(ワクチン種))
Official romanization given by the Digimon Reference Book and used in the franchise. Some media leave out the "(Vaccine)".[23]
- (En:) Metal
- (En:) Grey, meaning "old" or "ancient".

When the Hero tries to calm the two of them down, they team up and attack the Hero. After being defeated, they learn that MetalMamemon had sent the Hero and realised that their wounds must've come from MetalMamemon when it attempted to stop them fighting.
