what I get is actually the pose from the summonings. when you pull a digimon and it shows their evolved form doing a pose above the base digimon's head. so annoyingly that means its not possible to get the rookies. so when they add dracmon ill only be able to get sangloup, matador, and grandrac (also means no blanc, rip me)
the spiral arent playable, so they wont have that
its might be possible to get some of the spiral models, but I dont have a program to put them in to be able to get them to get t posing or whatever.
also since links models are basically all over the internet, but conversely the rearise ones arent, it seems like the model poses are basically all thats gettable (for example when fanbeemon was added I asked about getting that, and the only reason I was able to get one is because in story mode they had one show up, so it had a model pose from story. he wasnt able to get fanbeemons model itself, so i dont think i can get the spiral models.)
yeah itll be annoying when all the HM digimon are in RA, but then im missing mushroomon, chuumon, sistermon blanc, lunamon, dracmon, and monodramon. id say arcdiamon but actually I should be able to make a redirect from the HM ones we have
I remember why I did it now actually. cuz ultimates can be capped at that, so not all MGmons can evolve, so the way my head was working was that saying WGmon digivolves from MGmon implies they all can, etc. so saying like "can evolve from MGmon" was my way around that
That makes sense. Just to be clear, the sections are written about the topic, not from a wider-viewpoint, so you'd be looking at an actual hypothetical MGmon -- therefore, it had to have evolved from a WGmon.
the only thing I can think of is that I copied Targetmon's profile for something else, and then went to Tonosama's profile, highlighted it, clicked copy but the copy failed (eg, maybe I hit the wrong button) and then Targetmon's profile ended up in the wrong place. thats not something I would've done intentionally so however it ended up there was an accident. I'm more perplexed than you are.
For retcon stuff, we want to list that on a separate line with an explanation, as with Future Mode.
Also, and I apologize for not noticing this sooner, but the publication sections are meant to be organized by subseries.
It's my understanding that Links and ReArise are part of the Story series, due to using the same infrastructure and concepts like the Farm Island, so they would go after hacker's memory. Battle and Masters go last, as they are part of the non-BoJ MMORPG subseries. So for games that are not part of an anime series, it should basically go like this:
That doesn't make much sense to me. Shouldn't story only be world DS, Dawn/dusk, lost evolution, super xros wars, cyber slueth, and hackers Memory? Rearise and links are unrelated mobile games with different staff.
Officially, yeah, and I wouldn't be super-opposed to lumping in Links and ReArise in the "miscellaneous" pile, but as far as I can tell they're both just mobilized version's of cyber sleuth -- models, digidex setup, farm island, evolution lines, etc. Links more than ReArise, though.
Plus, aren't they (and Survive) all part of the Habuverse?
Habu only works in bandais console game department. Links and rearise aren't part of his stuff. Bandai mobile games are a separate part of Bandai games so have different staff. RA and links are made by the same people so would follow each other tho I guess. The only link Habu would have with them is taking some links/RA models for future story games. (No point making a new herissmon etc). Interestingly he did redo most of the next order new Digimon animations tho (like crimson mode). Crimson always had his sword in NO. So he'd despawn his sword and then resummon it for his animation lmao. Habu fixed this.
Survive will be though.
Links and RA do use the same models as cyber slueth but so does next order. Also some models are from decode (Numemon and geremon for example) and decode used some from world data squad (I don't think they carried to CS tho)
Can't use gameplay either IMO, the Digimon World Series proves that.
I knew the order thing, I just had links and RA under misc. I didn't know Digimon battle and Digimon masters (and soul chaser+encounters I suppose) should go at the end though, I had misc in release date order.
before this ryo mito and pile volcano ota were producers of the console games. ryo mito mostly. even then tho, no one from the console staff has done the mobile games (also ota did some stuff on hackers memory and is part of survive as well).
due to how much habu has been doing lately (port of CS/HM, survive, and the next story game at the same time), he got a sub producer for survive to help him, just like how mito got habu in for lost evolution. I wonder if this will effect things in the future. maybe habu steps back and the new guy takes over like habu did with mito (hopefully not)
also habu said he plans to make a mmo in the future so that japan have one too (indiretcly mentioning masters). I wonder if that would get masters closed down
he also said if he makes another world game he plans for it to be an online game (potentially this mmo he referred to? he mentioned them in differnet interviews). hes also said bandai now consider story games to be the main series of digimon due to the high sales and ratints compared to the rest of the franchise.
Certainly Habu is crossing over the World and Story series (V.V., etc.). Looking into it, Battle Spirit should definitely be under Tamers/Frontier. Rumble Arena 2 and All-Stars should go directly after the anime, since they are showing some sort of anime-crossover setting. So we can just put World, directly followed by Story.
The World series has disparate gameplay, and are kept together despite that by Bandai statement. These games I'm talking about do not.
Are you sure about World Data Squad? Those models were very old at the time, taken from Battle Terminal, and they had a noticeably different artstyle than the Habu games.
Yeah, I forgot Soul Chaser was Korean. That should be after Masters.
Anime (including ryo, park, racing, typing, battle spirit and rumble)
V-pet series (including digital monster S, WS, Partner, Pocket, Championship, Revive/Survive, Life)
World series (including card battle)
Story series (including Links and ReArise)
Card series (Card game WSC, Battle Terminal, Collectors, Jintrix/Crusader/Heroes)
Korea-original games (Battle Server, Battle, Masters, Soul Chaser)
Theoretically, could Battle be said to be a Tamers game, and Masters Adventure?
habu himself in an interview said bandai gave him basically 0 budget for redgiitze on psp, so he had to make do with the world data squad models. its possible he had them remade for the decode remaster as he said after it did really well they boosted his budget (and decode was his original ambition for the game). he also sad he was struggling for models in cyber sleuth, so resued a bunch from decode but that heroes and collectors made more money than excepted so he was able to make some extra models from that. he then added that in the media vision office (cyber sleuth devs) there were some digimon super fans, who really wanted to make a bunch of models cuz they like digimon so he ended up with more than expected (prob where stuff lik blackkingnumemon came from lol). also recently he said someone he works there with is a massive digimon anime fan so makes sure the attack animations match the anime (for anime digimon). thats probably why alphamon has green beams, lucemon throws planets etc. the psp version of redigitze looks really really bad in all honesty.
also i once emailed media vision telling them that they made an error with kudamons dot spirte and they replied saying they cant do anything about it because they were sent those by bandai. so it just seems like the models and what not, even though they appear to have been made by media vision (the cyber sleuth new ones anyway) are owned by bandai and they have to do as theyre told for that (explains all the reuse I suppose. also makes me curios if bandai choose who gets added to games, because links and masters added the same x forms at the same time, tho with different models)
american original games:
rumble arena 2 (made by a candaian company, but released in japan interestingly enough. reverse all star rumble, which was made by a japanese company but released only in the west)
and uh, I think that's it.
Battle/RPG would count under Tamers I guess, as it uses the tamers cast and universe. (and is still up on korea... and as far as i could tell, movegames do battle as well now lmfao)
masters would be data squad, as it takes place in that unvierse with the data squad cast. (and is pre merukimon death, because he is an npc in the ice wall area) ...theyve recently muddled this though due to shoehorning in the adventure cast and the advetnture real world... (with the myotismon story arc) so now the game lets you run from adventure 1999 odaiba, to 2006 data squad's digital world. that makes 0 sense. its still masters as a base though, the adventure content was a dlc expansion. still makes no sense.
anyway I still don't think links and RA should be part of the story series, though that placement just puts them on top of the misc games so its basiclaly the same thing I Guess.
i personally prefer misc games to be in release date order. i just have survive after rearise, with links nad survive following the rest of the games (and vpets being after the games for the few pages that have vpet content). where are we putting survive? the closest gameplay is the wonderswan games, but its not an anime game. youre not wrong that links is just a rip off of cyber sleuth though, that was a super lazy game. they did that opening scene, then literally nothing until the final two weeks storyline wise. rearise is doing well enough... though it seems like the season two they announced has been cancelled in place of monthly DFQs (unless season 2 suddenly happens, but its been like 6 months since they announced season 2, so *shrug*). links and RA still arent habu games tho, but im assuming hell be taking all their new models for the next story game. (also possible his staff made them and gave them to the mobile staff)
also next order having mirei/rina brings in decode, whilst world 1 is part of next order with mameo. the cross overs have got ridic latley.
I'd be okay with putting rearise with misc, but links is just so fundamentally a story ripoff that it's silly. I mean, when I see you putting in information for links and cyber sleuth, you're often putting in the exact same writeups for both games.
links took the base 240 roster of cyber sleuth (before the 9 new guys added as dlc for the ps4 port) and copy pasted their models, evolutions, and animations. in fact they even copy pasted the inheritable attacks (but added level 4 and 5 versions, where cyber sleuth caps out at 3. also digimn only get one inheritable there I think). not really anything differnt that can be posted about them outside of storyline roles.
links for sure was just then slapping a mobile rip-off of their most succesful game (since habu said it sold a "record" 800,000) but its not the same universe or antyhing and ther'es no cross overs. in fact if it wasnt for the opening scene and the final 2 weeks with metalicdramon it wouldnt even count as a game with a storyline lol. links was crap tbh. typical cash grab gacha. surprised rearise is any differnt
next story game is prob gonna recycle evo lines too, habu said the plan is to add to the roster and remove nothing till we have "all digimon" (yeah right lol)
I hope for a digimon game where you can team up with digimon characters from games, manga and anime, from world to survive, from adventure to appli monsters Create the ultimate team with Mameo and kokuwamon, Tai and agumon, esmeralda and bakumon, Kazu and hagarumon, kota and dorumon, rina and veevee, haru and gatchmon, Ai and candlemon, mio and tutomon, keisuke and betamon, Mayu and kudamon, Minoru and falcomon and more
