Mayu Nozomi (望海 繭 Nozomi Mayu?) is a main character in Digimon Rikollection.
Appearance[]
Mayu has fair skin, black hair, blue eyes, and a mole below his left eye.
As a young boy, Mayu had short hair, and wore a headband when playing with Digimon toys.
On the day Mayu shows Riko the Omnimon sticker on his toy box, he wears a shirt with long sleeves and a headband on his head.
On the day Mayu and Riko play with Terriermon and Agumon toys, Mayu wears a collared shirt.
When Mayu stores his toy box, his hair's bangs are longer, and he appears to wear a school uniform—a collared shirt, a necktie, and a collared jacket.
In 2023, when he lears the Digimon summoning app has been shutdown, his hair is shorter again, and he wears a collared shirt.
By August 1, 2024, his hair is now neck-length. He wears a red band on his neck, a light-colored shirt, a dark jacket with light lines on the sleeves, and dark pants with with a light line on each side. When preparing to fight Greymon and Parrotmon, he puts the band on head.
In cover for Digimon Comic volume 1, he wears the red band on his neck, a black shirt, a black jacket with a skull symbol on the right sleeve, black pants, two black belts, and a red armband on his arm. This outfit was based on Beelzemon.[1]

Mayu was a fan of Digimon but got disillusioned after the Digimon summoning app's shutdown and has been distancing himself from the franchise. Digimon Rikollection EP1

Name used in Digimon Rikollection.
- Ja: Nozomi (望海?). Japanese surname that means "hope ocean".
- Ja: Mayu (繭?). A Japanese name that means "cocoon". Possibly a reference to Butter-Fly.
Fiction[]
Mayu lives with his younger sister, Riko Nozomi. Mayu used to play with Digimon toys in his childhood and taught Riko about Digimon, eventually playing with her as well. Digimon Rikollection EP1 As an adult, Mayu is employed in a game company and worked on the Digimon summoning app. He tried to grow out of the Digimon franchise and force himself to believe Digimon was just for his work and not a hobby. Mayu had some involvement in the Digimon summoning app's shutdown, and became a shut-in at some point. Digimon Rikollection EP2
On August 1, 2024, he is playing an online game, but loses due to lag. He then gets annoyed by a Digivice iC's beeping sound and goes to check on Riko. Seeing her Digimon collection, Mayu warns Riko she would eventually become disillusioned like him, which the girl ignores. When Riko finds Mayu's old toy box and accidentally knocks it over, and Kuramon turns the toys into real Digimon, Mayu notices the toys have disappeared. Seeing all the Digimon in the street, he is confused due to the Digimon summoning app no longer working, and notices Keramon is turning toys into Digimon. After Riko leaves the apartment to get her collection back, Mayu is confused by these events, believing them to be a dream. He meets Agumon, notices how its body feels like one of his old toys, and after accidentally offending it, gets into a fight with the Digimon. Agumon convinces Mayu these events are not a dream, and tells the man he can't run away from them. When Riko returns with a bunch of Digimon, they realize Mayu can turn them back into toys by touching them. As Riko tries to protect the Digimon caught up in the battle between Greymon and Parrotmon, Mayu fears his dreams will be erased again. Unsure if it matters if a bunch of toys get erased, Mayu hears the Digivice iC's beep again, and realizes dreams still matter. Together with many Digimon, he leaps and punches Greymon, is surprised by his strength, and turns Parrotmon back into a card and an Angemon into a toy. Mayu and Riko use the Digivice iC to digivolve Agumon into GeoGreymon. Mayu asks Riko to collect the other Digimon, and entrusts a Terriermon and Wendigomon with protecting her. Realizing no one has come to check on the battle, Mayu comes to the conclusion he is dreaming, and wonders how he can wake up. When the Greymon almost hits Mayu, GeoGreymon tells him the dream is still real, and he'll disappear if he doesn't face it. Cheering on GeoGreymon, he gets annoyed at how worked up he is about an old toy. Greymon and other Digimon get angry and confront him over the fact he no longer plays with them, asking if he doesn't need Digimon anymore after growing up. Terriermon assures Mayu his memories won't disappear even if he is apart from the Digimon toys, and turns back into a D-Power. Riko throws Mayu a EX2-070: Digivolution Plug-In S, which he uses to perform a Digi-Modify, digivolving GeoGreymon into RizeGreymon, who defeats MetalGreymon. Mayu finally remembers how much he loved Digimon, and admits he doesn't want to forget. He promises MetalGreymon he'll never forget and asks it to stay with him forever, reverting it back into a Digivice. As Mayu is about to store the Digivice back in his toy box, it is destroyed by Keramon. Resentful at Mayu's involvement in the Digimon summoning app's shutdown, Keramon threatens the siblings and digivolves into Kurisarimon. Digimon Rikollection EP2
