While Takuya and Zoe explore the area, Tommy and J.P. run into trouble as they try to find a way back home.
Summary
Still confused about what just happened, Takuya mashes his D-Tector and accidentally releases the stored Fractal Code, which fixes the surrounding land. As the town's citizens rejoice, Boko-mon explains to the humans about how Cherubi-mon wreaked havoc on the world, stealing data and ruining the land. Meanwhile, Koji finally arrives at the Flame Terminal, where he is advised by the voice in the D-Tector that he needs to find his Spirit.
Zoe is enthralled by this new world, but J.P. remains skeptical and urges Tommy to find a way home. They attempt to bribe a Trail-mon (Angler), who dismisses them, and the Pagu-mon merely chase them for their food, eventually driving them to the Underground Labyrinth where they continue to harass them. Takuya and Zoe try to help, but when Tommy is in danger, Koji steps in and beats the Pagu-mon with a pipe. Unfortunately, one Pagu-mon digivolves to Rare-mon to fight and proves to be too much for Koji. Takuya intervenes, turning into the fire ninja, but he unexpectedly reverts after saving Tommy. Koji instead discovers the H Spirit of Light, spirit evolving to the star ninja and taking down Rare-mon.

Other Notes
Animation errors
- In one shot Takuya's shoe color is blue.
- When Koji falls into the labyrinth, just before he gets his Human Spirit, the trimmings on the neckline of his shirt are colored yellow instead of gray.
Dubbing changes
- In the English dub, in the moment immediately after receiving the Spirit and immediately before Spirit Evolution, Ophanimon's voice comes from the D-Tector and says, "It is time."
- Most of the slaps Zoe gives Takuya after falling down the hole with him are cut out to reduce the amount of comedic slapstick, leaving only the first two.
Miscellaneous trivia
- This episode reveals that Zoe was born in May, and Takuya was born in August.
