Lalamon (sometimes referred to as Raramon) is a fictional character from the Digimon franchise, appearing in the series Digimon Data Squad.

Both spellings of Lalamon's name (Raramon and Lalamon) would be pronounced the same way by a native speaker of Japanese. It could possibly be a pun on the sound of singing (lalala), the "Rara ayub," a plant that helped the prophet Job during his time of suffering as told in Hebrew scripture, and the word lullaby, which is transliterated into Japanese as rarabai.

Appearance

She is a rookie level vegetation Digimon who resembles a small flower-like creature. Her face consists of black circular shapes, and she shoots seeds out of her mouth

Description

She is the Digimon partner of Yoshino Fujieda, the series' heroine. Her first appearance was in the first episode of Digimon Data Squad to break up the fight between Masaru and Agumon.

Lalamon speaks her mind and is very honest. This can frustrate Yoshino.

Her appearances have not been as showcased as Agumon's or Gaomon's, preferring instead to be more of an informer, or backup fighter, than to be in the thick of the action. This however drastically changed once she became Lilamon for the first time.

Attacks

  • Seed Blast:( Nuts Shoot ) Shoots explosive seeds from her mouth.
  • Sing a Song: Sings a harmonious melody that causes her enemies to fall asleep.
  • Lala Screw: Spins the leafs atop her head, which allows her to cut things.

Other forms

The name "Lalamon" refers only to the Rookie form of this Digimon. Throughout the series, Lalamon gains the ability to Digivolve into a number of more powerful forms, each with a different name and special attack. However, the Rookie level is her preferred form and the one she spends most of her time in.

Budmon

Budmon is Lalamon's In-Training form. She can be seen in Yoshinos's flashback of when she and her partner first met.

Attacks

  • Poison Spines (Doku Togetoge): Budmon can fire the thorns on her head like projectiles towards an opponent.

Sunflowmon

Sunflowmon (サンフラウモン Sunflowmon)

Sunflowmon is Lalamon's Champion form. Sunflowmon first appears in episode 2 to fight against Kunemon, but it further evolved into Flymon and paralyzed Sunflowmon and Yoshino with its poison powder. When this happened, Marcus had to Digivolve Agumon to GeoGreymon to protect them from harm.

Early on in the series, Sunflowmon appeared infrequently after this battle and remained Lalamon, preferring to let the male protagonists handle battle situations. However, from episode 12 and onwards, she appears in numerous battles, usually guarding the human partners from attacks and warding off incoming enemy Digimon with long-range energy attacks. In episode 15 she defeated 7 Dokugumon with one hit.

Her name is derived from the English word sunflower, describing her happy and flowery appearance.

Attacks

  • Sunshine Beam: Sunflowmon's face glows yellow and fires an extremely powerful blast of solar energy.
  • Cactus Tail: Sunflowmon launches thorns from her tail.
  • Smiley Binta: Sunflowmon's leaves around her face spin and shoot out razor leaf like attacks.

Lilamon (ライラモン)

Lilamon is Lalamon's Ultimate form. Lilamon first appears during the fight against Mammothmon, when Yoshino finally envoked her own D.N.A. She is noticeably more feminine than her previous evolution, but her feminine and seemingly frail frame should not be taken to heart as she has already demonstrated power rivalling that of RizeGreymon.

Her name is derived from the English word Lilac, describing her sweet and flowery appearance and perhaps her coloration.

Attacks

  • Lila Shower: Fires multiple pink beams of energy from her petal-like fingers.
  • Beauty Slap: Slaps the enemy multiple times with her flexible arms. It also makes some opponents fall in love with her. In Data Squad, this attack is instead performed by waving her arms to create strong gales that "slap" her opponents.
  • Un Deux Pollen: She dances gracefully and dazzles the enemy with a wonderful-smelling, possibly poisonous, pollen.
  • Marvel Shot: Uses her arms like cannons, launching devastating balls of energy at a rapid rate.
  • Lilac Dagger: Creates a blade in one of her arms and uses it to attack an opponent.
