Hawkmon is the partner of Yolei Inoue.
Appearance[]
Description[]
Hawkmon has a quite pretentious accent in the English dub, while in the Japanese version he speaks with a deep, serious voice. In the English version of "The Good, The Bad, and The Digi", Hawkmon claims he is female, although most other sources claim it is male. This may have been him lying though, since Deputymon said it would free the girls and so Hawkmon lied to be freed.
Hawkmon is a polite and very formal Digimon; in the Japanese original, this makes him come off like a samurai, while in the dub he seems more like a British gentleman. His level-headed, polite personality helps balance out the more energetic and abrasive nature of his partner, Yolei.
Hawkmon, along with Veemon and Armadillomon, are the three Digimon of ancient times who were sealed away by the Harmonious One, Azulongmon, to be awakened again in a time of crisis. Hawkmon is freed when Yolei Inoue lifts the Digi-Egg of Love.
Later, Hawkmon gains the ability to assume a second Armor formāShurimon, from the Digi-Egg of Sincerity. After the defeat of the Digimon Emperor, Hawkmon's natural champion form is unlocked, as well as the ability to DNA Digivolve with Gatomon.
Hawkmon is recruitable in Digimon Tamers: Brave Tamer by saving Yolei and can be used in whatever chapter Yolei participates in Digimon Tamers: Digimon Medley.
Attacks
Other forms[]
Pururumon[]
Pururumon is the fresh form of Hawkmon. Pururumon appears when Silphymon loses so much power that Hawkmon is no longer able to maintain his Rookie form. His name comes from the Japanese word "purupuru," which means to shake or to shiver.
Pururumon is Hawkmon's Fresh Digivolution in Digimon Tamers: Brave Tamer, dedigivolving to him when his YP depletes. His default technique is "San no Awa", which deals damage.
Attacks
- San no Awa (é øć®ę³”? lit. "Acid Bubbles"): Foams out acidic bubbles and cover the opponent in them, then seizes the opportunity to flee.
Poromon[]
Poromon is Hawkmon's In-Training form. The name "Poromon" comes from the Japanese word "porori", meaning to drop something.
Hawkmon takes on his In-Training form whenever he returns to the Real World with Yolei. Poromon also sometimes appears when Hawkmon is forced to de-digivolve after a particularly difficult battle.
Poromon is Hawkmon's In-Training Digivolution in Digimon Tamers: Brave Tamer, digivolving to him as he recovers from depleting his YP. His default technique is "Pororo Breeze", which deals damage.
Attacks
- Pororo Breeze: Flaps its wings to raise a cloud of sand, then seizes the opportunity to flee when the opponent flinches.
Halsemon[]
Halsemon, the "Wings of Love", is the form that Hawkmon becomes when he Armor Digivolves using the Digi-Egg of Love. Halsemon's name is derived from Horus, an ancient Egyptian bird god.
Hawkmon first became Halsemon on the day of his revival,[6] when the Digimon Emperor abducted Davis Motomiya. It was Yolei's love that evoked the Digi-Egg's power, allowing Hawkmon to Armor Digivolve to Halsemon. After that, Halsemon became a valuable fighter during the Digimon Emperor's reign of terror. Yolei also travels by flying on Halsemon's back.
Once Ken renounced his evil persona, Halsemon was no longer needed because Hawkmon was now able to achieve his natural Champion formāAquilamon except in areas with active control spires, thus his only major appearance was when Yolei wished Hawkmon digivolve into all three of his forms against MaloMyotismon in the dream dimension[7]
Halsemon is one of Hawkmon's Armor Digivolutions in Digimon Tamers: Digimon Medley.
Halsemon is one of Hawkmon's Armor Digivolutions in Digimon Tamers: Brave Tamer, able to be used if Hawkmon is equipped with the "PF-DM Aijou" card represented by Halsemon and the "Armor Digivolution" command is selected during battle. His default technique is "Tempest Wing", which deals damage.

- Tempest Wing: Halsemon spins around, creating a tornado with which to attack his enemy.
- Eagle Eye (Red Sun): Halsemon fires glowing energy arrows from his eyes which can smite or paralyze his opponents.
Shurimon[]
Shurimon, the "Samurai of Sincerity" (roughly "Purity/Empathy's Warrior" in Japan), is the form that Hawkmon becomes when he Armor Digivolves using the Digi-Egg of Sincerity. Shurimon's name is derived from the ninja weapon Shuriken.
Hawkmon first became Shurimon on the day when they found the Digi-Egg of Sincerity, when Digitamamon was under the control of the Dark Spiral. Yolei's expression of her sincere feelings about (or empathizing with) Digitamamon caused the Digi-Egg to rise from its hiding place, allowing Hawkmon to Armor Digivolve to Shurimon.
Once Ken renounced his evil persona, Shurimon was no longer needed because Hawkmon was now able to achieve his natural Champion formāAquilamon, thus his only appearances afterward was to fight Musyamon (since they are both samurai digimon) in the real world and in the dream dimension against MaloMyotismon after Yolei wished for Hawkmon to digivolve into all three forms in the dream dimension.
Shurimon is one of Hawkmon's Armor Digivolutions in Digimon Tamers: Digimon Medley.
Shurimon is one of Hawkmon's Armor Digivolutions in Digimon Tamers: Brave Tamer, able to be used if Hawkmon is equipped with the "PF-DM Junshin" card represented by Shurimon and the "Armor Digivolution" command is selected during battle. His default technique is "Kusanagi", which increases all allies' SP, PAPP, and TAPP.
Hawkmon can also Armor digivolve to Shurimon with the Digi-Egg of Sincerity in the virtual pet D-3
Attacks
- Double Star (čč Kusanagi?): Shurimon throws two of his shuriken at his foes with amazing force. The stars will then slice through his opponent, or he will use the large star on his back.
- Ninja Wind (ē“ čććć Momiji-oroshi?, lit. "Autumn Down-blow"): Shurimon transforms his body into a hurricane of sharp leaves and small shuriken which slice his opponents to pieces. He can also teleport with this attack.

Aquilamon[]
Aquilamon is Hawkmon's natural Champion form.
Hawkmon first Digivolved to Aquilamon to save a dam from being destroyed by a Golemon created by Arukenimon. He was able to do so when Yolei realized that Ken had changed and was no longer the Emperor. Aquilamon then joined Stingmon on the offensive, attacked Golemon twice and finished off the unliving Digimon. Since then, Aquilamon has appeared more than Halsemon and Shurimon to battle the new Digimon enemies created by Arukenimon. During the chaos BlackWarGreymon created, Aquilamon and Gatomon became the second pair to DNA Digivolve and form Silphymon.
When the Watchmaker summons the heroes of the past to the Fusion universe to help take down Quartzmon, Aquilamon shows up with Yolei Inoue, Keenan Crier and Ravemon to assist in the DigiQuartz. A Great Legendary Hero Gathering! The Digimon All-star Showdown!!

Silphymon[]
Silphymon is an Ultimate level Digimon who is the DNA Digivolved form of Aquilamon and Gatomon, combining the features and attributes of a Bird type Digimon with that of a Beast type. Some of Silphymon's recognizable parts are Gatomon's ears, and Aquilamon's wing-top feathers on the arms and legs. As such, it balances the speed and agility of a Beast Digimon and the power and accuracy of a Bird Digimon. Silphymon usually degenerates to Salamon and Pururumon.
Silphymon was first formed when Yolei, Kari and Ken were trapped within the Dark Ocean and attacked by a Blossomon created by Arukenimon. Kari was too frightened to move but Yolei managed to snap her out of it and told her that as long they were friends, Kari was safe. At that moment, the hearts of Yolei and Kari were beating as one, causing their Digimon partners to merge into the Ultimate-leveled Digimon. The newly formed Silphymon managed to destroy Blossomon and get everyone back into the regular Digital World. Silphymon eventually became essential to fight the likes of Arukenimon, Mummymon, BlackWarGreymon, the Daemon Corps and lastly MaloMyotismon.
In the battle against BigUkkomon, Silphymon and Shakkoumon sever most of his tentacles to give Imperialdramon Fighter Mode a clean shot to destroy BigUkkomon with his Giga Crusher. Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning
