Fangmon is a Demon Beast Digimon. It lives deep in the heart of the forest, and preys upon those who lose their way. It is said that it is definitely the data of the Big Bad Wolf that appears within many fairy-tales that became a Digimon, and once it sets its sights on a prey, they will never escape, as it sometimes goes so far as to disguise itself as someone dear to its prey in order to get closer. It has a heretical existence among Dog and Wolf-species Digimon, and if Garurumon is a being of light, then Fangmon is a being of darkness.

Fangmon is based on the fictional Big Bad Wolf. It resembles a red wolf with an exaggerated muzzle.

A Fangmon chases after T.K. and Patamon with Patamon proving to be too weak to digivolve into Angemon to protect them. However, Komondomon suddenly rams the Fangmon as it leaps at T.K. and Patamon and Greymon and Birdramon are able to destroy the Fangmon with some teamwork.
Later, two more Fangmon attack the group, accompanied by their leader Cerberumon. After Cerberumon throws off MetalGreymon and Garudamon, they are surrounded by a whole pack of Fangmon, but the two Ultimates are eventually able to destroy them all. Cerberumon and two Fangmon continue the chase while MetalGreymon and Garudamon are distracted, injuring Sora and boarding Komondomon. However, T.K. and Patamon's determination to protect everyone allows Patamon to digivolve into Pegasusmon who knocks the Fangmon off of Komondomon. Pegasusmon quickly destroys the two Fangmon before turning his attention to Cerberumon.
