Digimon: Armorization is a fanon live-action film idea created by CAJH. It is the sequel to Digimon: Worlds Collide, the first installment of the Millenniummon Arc, and the fourth installment of the fanfictional film series idea. The story of the film is inspired by several elements from 1999 Adventure and 2020 Adventure: continuities as well as few recurring elements from Digimon mythologies, with the armor evolution, renamed armorization, from Adventure 02 being the key element of this film. The story of the film starts two and half years after the events of Worlds Collide.

The initial story idea of Digimon: Armorization was released to the Digimon Wiki on May 2021. But was later removed to be reworked for a better one, with the latest version released on May 2022. The ”Digimon 2021 Fan Fiction Film Series Story Idea Group” is also actively recruiting other people to suggest their own ideas or story changes for a potential full script.

  • The major plot points of the First Act:
    • Three years has passed since VenomVamdemon was destroyed. The Chosen Children have not been in the Digital World for six months. Tyler Whitaker is now studying in the same school with Hikari and her childhood friend Dyson Motomiya. Tyler’s neighbor Milena Iglesias is a student one grade higher in the same school. His other neighbor Jonny Hicks is still in elementary school and has been a long-time friend of Milena.
    • After the school day, Tyler and Hikari try to contact their older brothers, Matt Jephson and Taichi Yagami, but are unable to. But then Milena informs them of a mysterious S.O.S. message. Connor Smith arrives to the school, informing that he received that same S.O.S., revealing that it was from Taichi.
    • Sonya Tarkovsky, Joe Kent, and Mimi Thwaites (who now lives in London), have been officially reported as missing. And Huckmon or Spadamon do not respond to Connor’s messages either. Connor assumes that the five might be captured by the same individual/individuals behind Taichi’s and Matt’s disapprance.
    • Tyler and Hikari decide to go the Digital World to investigate. Dyson is jealous of the attention Tyler is getting from Hikari and wants to go with them. Milena and Jonny want to go too because they want to know what the Digital World and the Digimon are. Initially, Tyler and Hikari refuse to let them come with them, but the portal they open does take all five into the Digital World, with the three others mysteriously receiving their own Digivices, although different ones.
    • Dyson comes across a brown egg-like artifact with the symbol of Courage. By touching it, he releases a blue Dragon Digimon named Veemon who tells that the artifact is a Digimental.
    • The children meet Patamon and Tailmon who are being chased by a Monochromon. They cannot evolve but Veemon says that the Digimental can provide an alternate evolution method. Dyson uses the Digimental of Courage to armorize Veemon into Fladramon who defeats Monochromon, while the light of Dyson’s Digivice destroys a Control Device, which acts as an alternative brainwashing method to Infection, in Monochromon’s body.
    • The data of the Digimental is saved inside Dyson’s Digivice, which shows a map containing eight points, with the point indicating the Digimental of Courage disappearing from it.
    • Patamon and Tailmon explain the existence of the Digimon Emperor, a masked human boy who wishes to take over the Digital World and who has a black Digivice that prevents regular evolution.
    • Then, suddenly a distortion appears under them and Dyson and Veemon fall into it. Then, they are being chased by corrupted group of Gazimon, Gottsuimon, and one Unimon. Unimon manages to separate Tailmon from her Holy Ring, making her significantly weaker.
    • The map in Dyson’s Digivice appears in Digivices of Tyler and Hikari, who guide Milena and Jonny to the location of two other points. They find the Digimentals of Love and Knowledge which release a red Bird Digimon named Hawkmon and a yellow Mammal Digimon named Armadimon. Milena and Jonny also receive their own Digivices which contain the same map.
    • Milena and Jonny make Hawkmon and Armadimon armorize to Halsemon and Digmon, and the two are left to handle the operation to save Dyson and Veemon. Halsemon defeats a controlled Kuwagamon while Digmon defeats a controlled Drimogemon.
  • The major plot points of the Second Act:
    • FBI Agent Chris Murdock starts to investigate the disappearances of Taichi, Matt, and the other older Chosen Children, with the younger Chosen Children trying to hide the existence of the Digital World from him.
    • The Chosen Children see a news report about Kenneth ”Ken” Ellsworth, a child prodigy who is gifted in both academics and sports. He even won a software development competition by creating an application that is believed to be able to change how the mankind uses the Internet. His soccer team has an exhibition match with Dyson’s team.
    • The match is watched even by the Partner Digimon through Milena’s phone. Ken’s team wins the match, but Dyson manages to make at least one goal for his team at the end. Dyson and Milena were eager to meet their idol, but they do not know that Ken is secretly the Digimon Emperor himself.
    • In the Digital World, the Chosen Children personally meet the Digimon Emperor who summons a BlackGreymon, BlackGarurumon, and a large group of controlled Allomon to overpower Flamedramon, Halsemon and Digmon.
    • Hikari can sense two Digimentals even without the map. But she also senses some benevolent Digimon who is revealed to be Lopmon. Lopmon introduces himself and changes Tyler’s and Hikari’s Digivices to allow the Digimentals of Hope and Light to allow Patamon and Tailmon armorize to Pegasusmon and Nefertimon who defeat the Allomon.
    • The Digimon Emperor reveals his real identity as Ken Ellsworth who has obtained the Dark Crystal from the ruins of Vamdemon’s castle. He dark super evolves BlackGreymon into SkullGreymon who does not obey him. Hikari’s sixth sense recognizes SkullGreymon and BlackGarurumon as Taichi’s Agumon and Matt’s Gabumon who have been brainwashed and dark super evolved, revealing that the Emperor was behind the disappearance of the older Chosen Children.
    • SkullGreymon almost kills BlackGarurumon and the Partner Digimon until he finally loses all his energy and degenerates back into Agumon. The Digimon Emperor also figures out that his Control Devices are unable to control Ultimate Level Digimon, and teleports away.
    • When the Chosen Children return to the real world, they find out that Ken started to become more studious and athletic person one years ago, after the death of his older brother Samuel ”Sam” Ellsworth, who was also a prodigy. Soon, the news report Ken having run away from home, while Agent Murdock, other agents, and police officers talk to Ken’s worried parents.
    • Lopmon later guides the Chosen Children to meet Will Dunham, a boy from Colorado who is revealed to be a Chosen Child and Lopmon’s partner. Will and Lopmon were also given a mission to act as substitute messengers of the Kernel and the Four Holy Beasts after Huckmon was kidnapped. They explain how the Digimon Emperor’s Digivice and the crystal obelisks known as the Dark Towers are responsible for preventing the regular evolution. That is why they sent the Chosen Children a map to locate the long lost Digimentals and chosen Veemon, Hawkmon, Armadimon, Patamon and Tailmon to use them for armorization.
    • Together they travel to the location of the sixth Digimental: the Digimental of Friendship. But the Emperor attacks and reveals a new and improved Control Device that makes Agumon dark super warp evolve into ShadowMetalGreymon. The Digimental of Friendship is revealed to be Dyson’s second Digimental but Dyson is unable to activate its power. The Emperor sends a Flymon to kidnap Patamon and the Chosen Children are unable to stop it.
  • The major plot points of the Third Act:
    • The Chosen Children try to contact Connor but cannot get any answer. When they return to the real world, they find out the Connor has been kidnapped by the Digimon Emperor too. That is when the FBI arrives and takes them into custody.
    • Agent Murdock re-interrogates the children and reveals that he knows their secret. He explains that the government wishes to make the Chosen Children work for them to prepare for the day when the Digimon invade the real world once again. Will and Lopmon arrive and try to convince Murdock to let the children return to the Digital World to bring Ken Ellsworth back by promising to share every information with the government from now on and reveal the truth about their activities to Dyson’s, Milena’s, Jonny’s, Will’s, and even Ken’s parents.
    • Jonny starts to think about this carefully because to spend time with the other Chosen Children, he has been forced to avoid chores or activities with his mother and grandfather. He fears he is close to resort to lying, which is something his grandfather would never approve.
    • The Digimon Emperor he tries to use Patamon to extract both the Holy Digimon data and Dark Digimon. Patamon temporarily turns into Tsukaimon and a manifestation of Devimon appears to warn the Emperor that the Dark Power should not be underestimated.
    • The Chosen Children discover the location of the Digimental of Sincerity, which is revealed to be Milena’s second Digimental. But she is unable to activate it. They, the children decide to travel undersea to find the Digimental of Reliability. But when its location is surrounded by ShadowMetalGreymon, ShadowWereGarurumon and MegaSeadramon.
    • Dyson finally understands how attacking ShadowMetalGreymon and ShadowWereGarurumon is all about freeing their freiends and how bad Tyler must have felt when Patamon was kidnapped. This activates the Digimental of Friendship and armorizes Veemon into Lighdramon.
    • Milena confesses how disappointed she was when Ken was revealed be a villain, because she usually trusts and likes handsome and friendly guys (like Ken or Will) while disliking ugly or rude guys or Digimon. This activates the Digimental of Sincerity and armorizes Hawkmon into Shurimon.
    • Jonny finds the Digimental of Reliability but feels unworthy because he kept secrets from his mother and grandfather. Armadimon, however, convinces him that sometimes lies are needed to help others. Jonny then activates the Digimental of Reliability and armorizes Armadimon into Submarimon.
    • The Chosen Children learn to use slide armorization to change Digimentals without degenerating their Partner Digimon. By using these tactics, Flamedramon, Lighdramon, Halsemon, Shurimon, Digmon, Submarimon, and Nefertimon manage to outmatch their opponents and give the Chosen Children a chance to destroy the Control Devices controlling them, freeing Agumon and Gabumon.
    • The children infiltrate the base and meet a wounded Digimon named Wormmon who agrees to take them to the laboratory and training hall where Taichi, Matt, Sonya, Connor, Mimi, Joe, Piyomon, Tentomon, Palmon, Gomamon, Patamon, Huckmon and Spadamon were being kept in stasis pods. The Emperor greets the children and summons his weapon: Chimairamon. A Digimon who has Kabuterimon’s head, the wings of Angemon and Airdramon, Monochromon’s tail, Garurumon’s legs, Greymon’s torso, MetalGreymon’s hair, and the arms of Kuwagamon, SkullGreymon and Devimon.
    • Lopmon recognizes Chimairamon. He explains that Deathmon, a Demon Regent Lord had long ago started a war with an army of both Dark Digimon and the Composition Digimon named Deltamon. But the Deltamon attacked everyone, even their own kind, evolving into Chimairamon in the process, until only one Chimairamon remained and evolved into Millenniummon who then consumed even Deathmon himself before being shattered into several Dark Crystals by the previous incarnations of the Holy Digimon and the Partner Digimon.
    • The Dark Crystals had allowed Millenniummon’s spirit, MoonMillenniummon, to survive. Vamdemon had also used one of them to gain the power to evolve and to survive even without a body, until he was betrayed by MoonMillenniummon during his final battle as VenomVamdemon.
    • Wormmon reveals how he and Ken found the Crystal on the day Ken visited the Digital World for the first time and how Ken was forced to return to the real world after being almost killed by its energies. But when Ken had returned to the Digital World one year later, he had somehow decided to become the Digimon Emperor and conquer the Digital World to use its power to remake the real world, possibly due to MoonMillenniummon’s influence.
    • Chimairamon overpowers all the Partner Digimon, forcing them to degenerate to their Toddler Level forms: Chibimon, Poromon, Upamon and Tokomon. Nefertimon degenerates to Plottmon.
    • Dyson believes that there must be way to defeat Chimairamon, with Will and Lopmon agreeing with him. This causes the map of the Digimentals to show a ninth marking, coming from the engine room of the base. Wormmon guides them to the two black objects in the engine room trying to control a mysterious dark energy.
    • The two black objects turn into Golden Digimentals. The Golden Digimental of Miracles allows Veemon to armorize to Magnamon while the Golden Digimental of Destiny allows Lopmon to armorize to Rapidmon. Their light also restores the full energies of the other Partner Digimon.
    • Magnamon and Rapidmon fight against Chimairamon who does not hesitate to attack anyone, even the Emperor who created him. The Chosen Children try to talk to the Digimon Emperor who refuses believe anything they say. He also destroys the Dark Crystal, freeing MoonMillenniummon’s spirit who takes over Chimairamon’s body and amplify its powers even more. Rapidmon realizes that if Chimairamon is not stopped, it will evolve into Millenniummon.
    • The Emperor reveals he uploaded the source code of the application he used to win the software development contest to Chimairamon in order to make his creations to combine their effects with the Dark Towers, which are made of the larger Dark Crystals, to cause all technology in the United States to collapse. Under the influence of MoonMillenniummon and the dark energy from the engine room, he believes that the society is cruel and imperfect, claiming his intelligence and athletic abilities, as well as his ability to create Chimairamon, make him better than everyone other human. He is also convinced that his parents never truly cared about him and Sam.
    • The battle between Magnamon, Rapidmon, and Chimairamon damages the base, and it starts to sink. The younger Chosen Children help the older Chosen Children and their partners escape with Huckmon, Spadamon and Wormmon. Chimairamon who raises Dark Towers from the sea and starts to distort the Network and the Digital World while trying to crush Magnamon and Rapidmon with its hands.
    • Wormmon starts to glow and speaks to the mentally unstable Emperor with an echoing voice about their first meeting and how Ken had become evil the next time they met. After swearing to turn Ken back to his old self even if it would cost him his life, Wormmon’s body dissipates and his data flows into Magnamon and Rapidmon who destroy Chimairamon and the Dark Towers surrounding him.
    • Ken admits how he had wished for Sam’s death out of jealousy and because Sam had once yelled at him. He felt guilty and started to become just like his older brother, but started to feel that his academic and athletic abilities were all everyone cared about. A voice he heard in his head (MoonMillenniummon’s voice) had encouraged him to go to the Digital World, and to use its powers to take over both worlds and fix their imperfections.
    • Jonny reprimands Ken by saying that causing suffering to others is not an answer. Dyson is convinced that Ken’s parents truly cared about him and Sam. Tyler adds that life is always a wonderful thing, despite traumatic memories. They encourage Ken to remember if he had at least some happy memories with Sam and his parents.
    • Ken remembers all the happy moments with Sam, and how Sam really did care about him because he sacrificed himself to prevent Ken from being ran over by a car, and how he met Wormmon for the first time. Ken destroys his Digimon Emperor attire, and decides to become the same kind boy he used to be before his jealousy over Sam consumed him. This purifies the Dark Digivice and the black energy from the engine room, turning them into Ken’s real Digivice and the Crest of Kindness respectively. The Digivice and the Crest also gather Wormmon’s data together to reformat it into a Digi-Egg.
    • Huckmon returns the Holy Ring to Tailmon, revealing how the Digimon Emperor had found it and taken it to the base. The Digimentals transform back into Crests, and they return to their respective owners’ Digivices, with Will getting back the Crest of Destiny.
    • Dyson also receives the Crest of Miracles from the Golden Digimental of Miracles, but still sees the symbol of Courage and Friendship in his Digivice. Milena still sees the symbols of Love and Sincerity in her Digivice, but now also the Crest of Light. Jonny now sees the Crest of Hope with the Crests of Knowledge and Reliability in his Digivice.
    • The Chosen Children return to the real world with Ken who is reunited with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth admit that they unintentionally expected much from their sons, but now they are just happy that their younger son is still alive.
    • Few days later, Leafmon hatches from Wormmon’s Digi-Egg. As part of their deal with Agent Murdock, the new Chosen Children tell their both him and their parents everything, including the parents of the new Chosen Children. Few weeks later, Taichi and others are released from hospital, Leafmon has evolved to Minomon, and Ken declines an invitation from other Chosen Children to join them, wanting to fix his mistakes by himself.
    • Huckmon has established connection with the U.S. Government and be the one who shares information to them with Connor’s help, but making sure that the government is given only the information that can be trusted in their hands.
    • Tyler, Hikari, Angemon and Tailmon meet up with the Dyson, Milena, Jonny, Will, and the Champion forms of their Partner Digimon: ExVeemon, Aquilamon, Ankylomon and Tueryemon.
  • The mid-credit scene:
    • MoonMillenniummon is revealed to still exist in another but gigantic Dark Crystal.

Removed elements

Removed story

  • Vamdemon being the one manipulating Ken Ellsworth instead of Millenniummon. This change was done when Worlds Collide was added to the story between Light and Dark and Armorization.
  • PicoDevimon being Devimon’s Rookie form instead of Tsukaimon and being a separate Digimon instead of being the embodiment of Patamon’s dark side.
  • Milena and Jonny receiving their own Crests. This change was done to keep only the eleven Crests in the Adventure Saga and not create any new Crests in this fanfiction.

Development

CAJH hoped to make a film that would completely focus on armor evolution, renamed armorization, and introduce characters based on Adventure 02. He was also thinking whether the introduce one of its villains in a potential film set between Light and Dark and Armorization. He originally decided to save the appearances of any new evolutions into a film set after Armorization, keep using PicoDevimon as one of the villains alongside a new incarnation of the Digimon Emperor, and introduce Tailmon in Light and Dark at the same time with Patamon, instead of separating the story into too many separate installments. CAJH initially planned Armorization as ”Chapter Two and Half” instead of ”Chapter Three”, due to the original six Chosen Children being only supporting characters and them not meant to ”retire” from the main cast this early in the film series.

After the stories of the previous installments were decided to be reworked, Armorization was changed into the fourth installment and from a spin-off into a main chapter. And since the defeats of Devimon and Vamdemon were moved into Worlds Collide, Millenniummon took over as the background villain manipulating the Digimon Emperor.

Trivia

  • The armor evolution, renamed armorization, was chosen to be part of the storyline, because CAJH did not want to introduce the human partners of Veemon, Hawkmon, Armadimon without it and to introduce as many as evolved forms as possible in this film series.
  • Taichi Yagami and the older Chosen Child being kidnapped and missing most of the time in this film mirrors that of the disappearance of Davis Motomiya and younger DigiDestined in Digimon Adventure tri..
  • Will Dunham was originally planned to be introduced in the first Digimon film, but was later decided to be introduced in the Millenniummon Arc instead.
  • Lopmon acting not only as a Partner Digimon but as a deputy messenger for Huckmon and explaining the story about Millenniummon’s origins is inspired by his role in 2020 Adventure: series.
  • After the armorization is no longer needed, the Crests of Light and Hope appear in Milena’s and Jonny’s Digivices respectively, alongside the Crests of Love, Sincerity, Knowledge, and Reliability, as an easter egg to Silphymon and Shakkoumon.
  • Millenniummon was originally planned to be introduced in the sequel of the film, but it was changed the character was given more important role in Armorization.
