The Dark Digimentals are a set of legendary artifacts. It is said that long ago, during the days of the Ancient Species and Armor Digivolution, an empire in the digital world sought greater power than the armor digi-eggs. Utilizing power harvested from the armor digi eggs, they created more powerful weaponized versions. However, rather than amplifying the positive attributes of the user, they amplified the darkness in their hearts. Thus, their use brought this empire to ruin, and the weapons were sealed away by a legendary team of heroes. The armor digimon evolved by Dark Digimentals are usually two levels higher, rather than one.

Fear[]
The Digi-Egg of fear has the attribute of Frost. It generally makes its users more intimidating, but more cowardly. It was unearthed by the digidestined from a strange cave, unaware of its true nature, as it latched onto the freshly rescued agumon.

The Digi-Egg of Belligerence has the attribute of Thunder. It grants great athletic prowess, but makes its users unable to discern friends from threats. Fangmon tricked Davis Motomiya into finding it a strange forest ruin. It latched onto him, gradually making him more brutal and angry.

Hate[]
The Digi-Egg of Hate has the attribute of Storm. It fuels and strengthens whoever uses it, granting them anti-air abilities but amplifying the hatred in their heart. It was harvested from within the Digi-Egg of Love by Phelesmon, who forced Davis to digivolve Veemon to Sethmon and captured both of them to harvest it. However, he entrusted it to SkullKnightmon as he fled.

Deception[]
The Digi-Egg of Deception has the attribute of Poison. It makes the user trickier, granting them powers of illusion and suggestion. However, the user has constant nagging thoughts of betrayal and compulsive desire to lie. Fangmon located it in an abandoned mystic shrine, and used it in an attempt to defeat the digidestined.

The Digi-Egg of Idiocy has the attribute of Erosion. It grants its user vast strength and turns them into a living siege weapon. However, it also reduces their intelligence to that of a mindless beast, blindly following the orders of anyone stronger than it including its enemies. SkullKnightmon located the Digi-Egg of Idiocy enveloped in webs in a cave, and used it to turn Tentomon into a perfect steed for him.

The Digi-Egg of Instability has the attribute of Acid. It grants the user extremely powerful boiling chemical attacks. However, it also drives its users to complete madness and causes them constant pain. Mad Leomon found it in a boiling mud pit years ago. He eventually uses it out of desperation to prove his worth to the Dark Imperium by destroying the digidestined.

The Digi-Egg of Despair has the attribute of Unholy. It gives its users the ability to feed on emotion, but makes them miserable if they don't drain enough emotions. The digidestined and Devidramon located it at the top of the bleakest mountain. Devidramon used it to digvolve, then began draining negative energy to fuel himself.

The Digi-Egg of Shadow has the attribute of Darkness. It instills its user with unbridled ambition and pure malice. Devidramon and MadLeomon got in a fight over it, as it was found between their domains. In the end, Gatomon grabbed it to stop them, only to start turning towards evil.

Cruelty[]
The Digi-Egg of Cruelty is a very peculiar digimental, and possesses an unknown attribute. Unlike the other Dark Digimentals, the Digi-Egg of Cruelty doesn't merely amplify its user. Instead, it is an actively diabolical presence, scheming to take control of anyone who uses it to cause misery. It is thought to have at least partially masterminded the fall of the original empire that made the digimentals. It lured the Dark Commanders and the Digidestined into a search for it, only to absorb Wormmon, Gomamon, and Biyomon to make itself a new body.

Curses[]
The Digi-Egg of curses is one of the two "Cobalt Digimentals", the dark counterpart to the Golden Digi-Eggs, and it has the attribute of Rust. It renders its user heavily armored and gives them extra abilities to help them fight against metal-based digimon. In addition, as the dark counterpart to a "Miracle Item", it grants the user unimaginable dark magic to make any situation worse for their enemies, no matter how hopeful it may be. The 02 digidestined found it in the ancient temple in the sky after an epic race against a team comprised of all five Dark Commanders. However, before they could get it, Boogiemon backstabbed his teammates and made it first, acquiring it to gain ultimate power.

Fate[]
The Digi-Egg of Fate is the other "Cobalt Digimental" and one of an unknown attribute. It envelopes the user with immeasurable blue energy and grants them control of the power of time. It also makes the user into an oracle of sorts, granting them information about the future. While "Destiny" represents the glorious future ahead, "Fate" fuels its user with the darker side of time. As such, the power of time is used to bring about ruin and dismay, and the knowledge is only of the darkest parts of time. Imperialdramon used it to fuel his moving base. The digidestined successfully located it. To destroy the base, they fused Veemon with the digimental of fate at its core. Veemon used it to destroy the base. Eventually, BlackImperialdramon gets it back, using it to confront the heroes while his ritual prepares for its ultimate plan.
