Synopsis[]
Violet "Vi" Inboots has just challenged Arisa Kinosaki to a duel, telling her that if she wins she will get to take Shoemon for herself.
Shoto Kazama thinks back about everything that has happened to him recently — fighting Frozen Knight, meeting Pteromon, the cards in his deck being changed, meeting Cool Boy, and now seeing Arisa being blackmailed into duelling Violet.
Arisa asks Violet why she has to duel instead of Shoto, with Violet saying it's because the two of them are true rivals. Arisa denies this, saying they are just classmates, with Violet saying the other reason is because Shoemon looks like a new type of Digimon. Arisa reminds Violet that it's against the rules to wager things in the Digimon Liberator game, with Violet having to give up on her plan to win Shoemon via the duel. Instead, she says Arisa will have to do something for her — refusing to say what it is until she wins. Shoto tells Arisa she doesn't even have to accept the duel, though Violet brings up her blackmail about how they're breaking the rules by hanging out with Digimon and she can just go and tell the GMs. Arisa agrees to duel Violet, with the duel system randomly deciding for Arisa to go first.

Arisa Kinosaki vs. Violet Inboots[]
Multiple moves aren't mentioned in the comic, but are described in detail in Battle Coverage (2) VS. Three Musketeers. Instances where something isn't explained in the comic will use a ref note to denote it was explained in the article.
Arisa Kinosaki goes first, and draws a card during her Draw Phase. During her Breeding Phase she hatches a copy of ST19-01: Kyaromon and then digivolves it to ST19-02: Junkmon for 0 cost. She then digivolves Junkmon to ST19-07: Tobucatmon for 2 cost, putting Violet "Vi" Inboots on 2 memory. Arisa will have drawn a card for each digivolution.
On Violet's turn, she draws during her Draw Phase and then hatches a copy of EX7-005: Kapurimon during her Breeding Phase. She digivolves Kapurimon to EX7-008: ToyAgumon for 0 cost, drawing a card on digivolution.
- Bandai's battle write up claims the ToyAgumon in her hand that she digivolved to was a copy of EX7-040: ToyAgumon (Black), however this is inconsistent with what was shown in the comic itself as Violet was shown using using a copy of EX7-008: ToyAgumon.
Violet plays BT6-060: Deputymon from her hand for 5 cost — putting Arisa on 3 memory. Deputymon's On Play effect activates, allowing Violet to reveal the top four cards of her deck and add one Digimon with the Three Musketeers trait to her hand and one Option Card with a cost of 7. Any cards she doesn't add to her hard will be sent to the trash. The four revealed cards are ToyAgumon, EX7-011: Megadramon, EX7-013: MagnaKidmon, and EX7-071: Hurricane Screw Shot.[1] She uses the effect to add MagnaKidmon to her hand, trashing the other three cards.
- This was presumably another copy of EX7-008: ToyAgumon. It could've been EX7-040: ToyAgumon (Black) instead, though.
Arisa draws, then moves TobuCatmon from the Breeding Area to the battle Area during her Breeding Phase. She has TobuCatmon attack Violet's security, with this revealing a copy of EX7-011: Megadramon. TobuCatmon's 5000DP is lower than Megadramon's 7000DP, but it survives due to its Jamming ability. She pays 3 memory to digivolve TobuCatmon into ST19-09: Pandamon, drawing a card on digivolve, then pays 4 more and digivolves Pandamon to ST19-13: ShinMonzaemon — putting Violet on 4 memory. ShinMonzaemon's On Digivolving effect activates and attempts to put the top card of Arisa's deck into her security stack but is unable to do so as the requirement for the effect to work is having a Puppet type Digimon or Numemon species Digimon in the trash and she has neither.[1]
- Kyaromon and Junkmon's inherited abilities also don't activate, as neither of them fulfil the requirements.
After drawing a card during her Draw Phase, Violet moves ToyAgumon to the Battle Area. She pays 2 memory to digivolve it to EX7-043: Tankmon and uses its On Digivolving effect to return three cards with the Three Musketeers trait from her hand or trash to the top of her deck to de-digivolve one of Arisa's Digimon. She returns the Option Cards EX7-070: Der Blitz, EX7-066: Chaos Triangular, and EX7-071: Hurricane Screw Shot from her hand[1]. As ShinMonzaemon was the only target, it de-digivolves to Pandamon — with ShinMonzaemon sent to the trash. Violet uses Deputymon's effect and pays 6 memory, allowing it to warp digivolve to a Three Musketeers Digimon. She digivolves it to MagnaKidmon, with the digivolution draw returning Chaos Triangular to her hand — having placed it as the top card of her deck via the earlier effect. She uses MagnaKidmon's when digivolving effect to play an option card with the Three Musketeers trait from her hand for free and uses it to play the one she just drew. Chaos Triangular destroys one Digimon with 9000DP or less, increasing by 3000 for each different Three Musketeers Digimon on her field. As she has MagnaKidmon, the effect increases to be able to destroy a Digimon with 12000DP or less. As Pandamon has 7000, the increase was irrelevant as it would've been destroyed regardless. Chaos Triangular then adds itself as a digivolution source under a Three Musketeers Digimon (MagnaKidmon). MagnaKidmon effect then continues, allowing Violet to draw cards until she has 6 in her hand (she had three in her hand at the time[1]). Pandamon's On Deletion effect activiates, allowing Arisa to play a lv3 Puppet Type Digimon from her hand for free. She uses the effect to play EX7-024: Shoemon. At the end of Violet's turn, she uses another effect of MagnaKidmon — trashing an Option Card from its digivolution sources with this giving it Security Attack+1 and allowing it to attack. As Chaos Triangular had been trashed, its other effect activates — increasing one of her Digimon's DP by 3000. She uses it to buff MagnaKidmon to 15000, with it checking ShinMonzaemon and ST19-10: ExTyrannomon in Arisa's security.[1] Neither of them were strong enough to destroy MagnaKidmon.
On Arisa's turn, after drawing, she hatches another copy of Kyaromon and then digivolves Shoemon to EX7-025: ShoeShoemon. Shoemon's ability lowers the cost of digivolution when digivolving to a Puppet by 1, meaning Arisa only had to pay 1 memory — putting her at 3. ShoeShoemon's On Digivolving effect activates, allowing Arisa to play a Tamer card with the name Arisa Kinosaki for free as she has less than 2 Tamer cards on her field (she has 0). She uses the effect to play ST19-14: Arisa Kinosaki. She digivolves Kyaromon to another copy of Shoemon, then digivolves ShoeShoemon to EX7-027: Chaperomon for 3 cost. Chaperomon's On Digivolving effect activates, allowing her to play a lv3 Puppet type Digimon for free — which she uses to play ST19-04: PawnChessmon (White). She uses the effect of her Tamer card, suspending it to give an effect summoned Digimon or Token the Rush ability — applying it to PawnChessmon (White). She has Chaperomon attack Violet's security — the attack revealing a copy of Deputymon with Chaperomon surviving as it has higher DP than Deputymon (who had 0DP, as Shoemon and ShoeShoemon's inherited effects lower security DP by 3000 each). PawnChessmon (White) uses its newly gained Rush Abilty and attacks with this revealing a copy of Der Blitz. Its Security effect activates, deleting the Digimon on Arisa's field with the lowest Play Cost. This destroys PawnChessmon (White). The second part of the effect then puts it under one of Violet's Three Musketeers Digimon (MagnaKidmon). Arisa pays 6 memory, playing another Pandamon from her hand — with Violet now at 6 memory.
- PawnChessmon (White) has an On Play ability to trash one card in your hand after which you draw two cards. Arisa appears to have chosen not to use this effect (it's optional). Kyaromon's inherited effect will have had Arisa draw a card, as she had another Digimon on the field when she attacked with Chaperomon.
Violet draws, and then digivolves Kapurimon to ToyAgumon for 0 cost. She digivolves Tankmon to Megadramon for 3 cost and uses its on digivolving effect to put a Three Musketeers Option Card from her hand or trash below Megadramon. She takes Hurricane Screw Shot from the Trash and places it under Megadramon, and as she was successful in the effect she is allowed to delete one of Arisa's Digimon with less than 6000DP (though there is no target, so the effect fails). Kapurimon's inherited effect activates, giving Violet 1 memory as a Three Musketeers Option Card had been placed under its stack. She digivolves Megadramon into EX7-048: Gundramon for 4 cost, putting her at 0 and uses its On Digivolving effect to reveal the top six cards of her deck. If one of them is a Three Musketeers Option Card, she can use it for free and then put the other five cards at the top or bottom of her deck. One of the cards was a copy of Der Blitz, which shes uses to delete the lowest Play Cost Digimon on Arisa's field and then put Der Blitz under a Three Musketeers Digimon. Pandamon is deleted, with Arisa using its On Deletion effect to play another copy of PawnChessmon (White) whilst Violet puts Der Blitz under MagnaKidmon. Gundramon attacks the suspended Chaperomon, destroying it due to having higher DP (ToyAgumon's inherited effect made it 2000DP higher, though this had no effect on the battle). Gundramon uses the inherited piercing effect of Megadramon, allowing it attack security. It fights a TobuCatmon[1], winning due to having higher DP. Violet then pays 7 memory to play EX7-044: Gigadramon, with its On Play effect revealing the top 4 cards of her deck. If one of them is a Three Muskeeters Option Card, she can put it under Gigadramon and then destroy a Digimon on Arisa's field with a play cost of 3 or less. She places an unspecified Option Card under Gigadramon, and uses the effect to delete PawnChessmon (White). At the end of her turn, she uses the effect of MagnaKidmon to trash an Option Card from its digivolution sources to give it Security Attack+1 and allow it to attack. She trashes Der Blitz, with the attack removing the last of Arisa's security cards. The duel continues in Fable Waltz (Part 2).

Sypnosis[]
The duel between Violet "Vi" Inboots and Arisa Kinosaki continues.
Arisa eventually wins the duel.
Shoto Kazama asks Arisa why Violet is obsessed with her, though she has no idea. Despite the obsession, Arisa says she does like being friends with her, liking that she makes her feel special with all the attention she gives her. She tells Shoto she will continue to help him with his special training, with Shoto asking what she thought Violet was going to ask for had she won. This causes Arisa to wonder as well.
Violet, having ran away, sneezes. Ghostmon worries about her health, though Violet says it's fine and she probably just sneezed as Shoto and Arisa were talking about her. She asks Ghostmon what fun they'll be having next, though it ignores her words and tells her to just be honest with Arisa and to ask her to be friends. Violet rejects this notion though, saying rivals don't become friends with each other — this apparent fact worrying Ghostmon.

Arisa Kinosaki vs. Violet Inboots[]
The duel between Arisa Kinosaki and Violet "Vi" Inboots from Fable Waltz (Part 1) continues. Multiple moves aren't mentioned in the comic, but are described in detail in Battle Coverage (2) VS. Three Musketeers. Instances where something isn't explained in the comic will use a ref note to denote it was explained in the article.
Arisa's final two security were another copy of ST19-04: PawnChessmon (White) and EX7-068: Wonder Stomp. Wonder Stomp's security effect activates, allowing Arisa to draw one card then play a lv3 Puppet Digimon for free. She uses the effect to play ST19-02: Junkmon for free.
After drawing a card, ST19-14: Arisa Kinosaki unsuspends during the Unsuspend Phase. Arisa moves EX7-024: Shoemon from the Breeding Area to the Battle Area. She digivolves Shoemon to EX7-025: ShoeShoemon. Shoemon's ability lowers the cost of digivolution when digivolving to a Puppet by 1, meaning Arisa only had to pay 1 memory — putting her at 6. She pays three memory to digivolve ShoeShoemon to ST19-11: Chaperomon, with Chaperomon's On Digivolving effect activating. It lowers one of Violet's Digimon's DP by 3000DP, then lowers it by a further 3000 if she has 3 or more Digimon. As she has 3 Digimon on her field (EX7-013: MagnaKidmon, EX7-048: Gundramon, and EX7-044: Gigadramon), said further reduction applies and Arisa uses it to lower Gigadramon's DP to 1000. Arisa attacks Violet's security with Junkmon, though Violet reveals EX7-059: BeelStarmon ACE in her hand and uses its counter ability to Blast Digivolve Gigadramon into said BeelStarmon for free (Gigadramon's -6000DP carries over to BeelStarmon, and so it has 5000DP instead of 11000). This gives Violet a digivolution draw and activates BeelStarmon's On Digivolving effect. Violet is allowed to add an Option Card from the Trash to her hand, then can activate a Three Muskeeters Option Card for free. She activates EX7-071: Hurricane Screw Shot, which allows her to delete a lv3 Digimon, a lv4 Digimon, and a lv5 Digimon then stacks itself underneath a Three Musketeers Digimon. Arisa has the lv3 Junkmon and lv5 Chaperomon on her field, who would both simultaneously die via said effect. Arisa however, activates the Decoy effect of Junkmon which allows it to sacrifice itself and prevent a Puppet Digimon from dying via an effect. Junkmon would've died regardless, since it was lv3, and was now targeted twice (taking the lv5 deletion effect in place of Chaperomon, alongside its own lv3 deletion effect). With the deletion over, Violet puts the Option card under Gundramon. Arisa pays four memory, putting Violet at one, and digivolves Chaperomon to EX7-030: Cendrillmon. Cendrillmon's On Digivolving effect activates, allowing Arisa to play a Familiar Token. At the end of her turn, she uses Cendrillmon's Overclock ability which allows her to delete a Puppet Type Digimon or Token and then attack without suspending. She deletes the token she just played, which activates the token's On Deletion Effect — allowing her to lower the DP of one of Violet's Digimon by 3000. She lowers Gundramon's, who goes from 12000 to 9000. Cendrillmon attacks Violet's security with this also activating Cendrillmon's When Attacking effect which allows her to lower a Digimon's DP by 6000. She lowers BeelStarmon's DP, with this lowering BeelStarmon's DP from 5000 to -1000. As BeelStarmon now has negative DP, it is destroyed. This activates BeelStarmon's Overflow ability, lowering Violet's memory by 4 (essentially giving Arisa four memory) putting Arisa onto 3. Violet uses Gundramon's Blocker ability to block Cendrillmon's attack then uses its second effect to trash an Option Card under it to prevent a Three Musketeer Digimon from dying (itself). She trashes Hurricane Screw Shot, which activates its ability as it had been trashed — giving Violet 1 memory (essentially lowering Arisa's) and moving Arisa to 2 memory. Arisa pays 2 memory, putting her at 0, and uses the Option Card Wonder Stomp. She draws a card, then plays PawnChessmon (White) from her hand. She suspends the Tamer card Arisa Kinosaki to give the newly played PawnChessmon Rush then attacks with it. The security card is MagnaKidmon, and as such PawnChessmon is destroyed as it's weaker. As Cendrillmon hadn't suspended from its earlier attack, it attacks again — with Cendrillmon revealing Violet's final security card as a Gigadramon. Cendrillmon suspends after the attack. Its When Attacking effect also lowers a Digimon's DP by 6000, with Arisa using it to weaken MagnaKidmon.[1] Arisa pays 3 memory, putting Violet at 3, and plays a copy of Junkmon. At the end of her turn, she uses Cendrillmon's overclock ability to delete Junkmon and attack again without suspending (the ability allowing Cendrillmon to attack whilst suspended). As Violet has no security cards left, she loses.
- This final attack will also have lowered another of Violet's Digimon's DP by 6000DP.
