Digimon (creature)
Digimon (デジモン, Dejimon?), short for "Digital Monster" (デジタルモンスター, Dejitaru Monsutā?), are mysterious lifeforms that were discovered in the Computer Network in 1997. They are central to the Digimon franchise. The word "Digimon" is typically invariable in the plural, though there are some cases where the term is pluralized as "Digimons". Digimon include almost all the creatures that reside within a parallel universe called the "Digital World." There are many different species of Digimon, as well as unconfirmed and new generations of Digimon yet to be revealed. The rate of new Digimon species continuously increase as the Digital World expands each year. Digimon hatch from eggs called Digi-Eggs (デジタマ, Degitama?). They age via a process called "Digivolution" which changes their appearance and increases their physical powers. (read more)

April 3 - Digimon Seekers will be released in Japanese, Chinese, and English. February 22 - Digimon World: Next Order was ported to Nintendo Switch and Microsoft Windows worldwide. It only released on Switch in Japan, howevver. 2022 July 29 - Digimon Survive released outside Japan for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. July 28 - Digimon Survive released in Japan on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. July 22 - Nine years after originally being terminated, Digimon Battle - under the name Digimon RPG - relaunches in English. February 27 - During Digimon Con it was announced that an English dub of Digimon Adventure: was announced. 2021 October 28 - Digimon Survive is delayed again. October 3 - Digimon Ghost Game will air on Fuji TV. September 26 - Digimon Adventure: airs its final episode. The event also announced a new series for spring 2015, portraying Tai at age 17 and in high school. 	Jesmon is the last member of the Royal Knights to be introduced and was trained by fellow member Gankoomon to become a Royal Knight. The voices of Yamato "Matt" Ishida and Takuya Kanbara are played by the same person in the English dub anime. Renamon was originally going to be named "Lunamon".
