Digimon New Century, sometimes translated as Digital Monster New Century, is a role-playing video game jointly developed by Qixia Interactive Entertainment and Bandai Namco Entertainment Shanghai. It is published by Tencent. It was released on October 21, 2021. The game was originally meant to release on October 13, 2021, however instead it was delayed a week to October 21, 2021 to provide a better gaming experience. They announced they would provide 100 free summons as compensation for said delay.[2]

Although the game is exclusive to China, Bandai Japan have mentioned the game on the official Digimon website, as well as on social media, using the name Digimon New Century (デジモン新世紀 Dejimon Shinseki?).[3]

Development

Digimon New Century was announced in 2019.

It was in development for over three years.[4]

The game first released as a beta on October 23, 2020 and has an estimated release date of October 13, 2021.[5]

The game was originally going to be published by Bandai Namco Entertainment Shanghai, however Tencent bought publishing rights in May 2021.[1]

Digimon New Century has a song written and performed by Ayumi Miyazaki titled "ZERO - The Beginning".[6][7]

On 27 September, 2021, just before the game's official release, Bandai Namco Shanghai revealed the game would include new Digimon made for the game, with one of them being based on Shan Hai Jing.[8][9]
