Synopsis[]
Yuuki, Impmon, Ryutaro Williams, and Tyrannomon gather in the Garden and go over the mission. Under the orders of Altea, they were to deal with some cheaters — taking the place of the GMs as they were too busy to deal with it themselves. The cheaters would hack the tournament winners, preventing them from logging out or even communicating with other players, and would agree to restore their accounts in exchange for their tournament prizes. They would then sell the prizes to make large amounts of money. The group of 30 hackers had affected so many tournaments, the fear of being hacked had caused entry numbers to drop drastically. Learning this information riled up the Digimon, and their discussions bring to light that there isn't even evidence of the hacking as it left no trace and in addition to that — the higher ups have no clue how they even managed to do it in the first place, as other cheating attempts would be stopped buy the game itself due to the hackers modifying their systems. Though the task seems impossible, Ryutaro reveals he has a plan and brings up how the winner of the previous weeks tournament had fallen victim to this scam. He goes through what the hackers do again, then says he had actually agreed with the hackers to buy said stolen prize and had a meeting with them at Lapis Marine to get the stolen item.
They send out fellow debug team member Winr to make first contact with Winr's plan being to lower their guards as he was a kid instead of the giant Ryutaro. Espimon had sent a message via Tyrannomon with it telling them not to allow the hackers to run towards Lapis Stadium Tower as the debugging team were testing a player who had taken out an NPC there to see if he was a good fit as a new member of the team. Winr sends a message to Ryutaro just as he was about to check the map for escape routes with it saying that more than 10 hackers had shown up and he was scared they were going to take advantage of him since a kid would be unable to stop them. This angers Ryutaro, since he had allowed Winr to go alone, and he leaves alongside Tyrannomon to try and save his young friend from harm. He gets there in time, with Yuuki also having joined in the rescue attempt. The three of them were now surrounded by the large number of hackers. The hackers were aware of the fact they were dubuggers under cover, and were not intimidated by their jobs as they just considered them the same as regular players. They laugh at the fact there's no evidence, with Winr telling them that this is still an official trade and if they went against their word and didn't give them the stolen item they could report them and get them banned. Aruba Dokuson, leader of the hackers, points out they had yet to receive the payment and that they have the blackmail of the fact that debuggers were pretending to be regular players. Ryutaro then proceeds to challenge Aruba to a duel.

Synopsis[]
Ryutaro Williams has just challenged the leader of the hackers, Aruba Dokuson, to a duel. Aruba agrees, and states they'll stop their scams if Ryutaro is able to win. Meanwhile if he wins, he will post online about how Ryutaro, Yuuki, and Winr had been going undercover as regular players with the shame supposedly being enough that it'd cause them to never be able to play again. Though at first worried that Aruba would lose, his minions quickly change to mocking the debuggers confident that their leader would never lose. Aruba gives Ryutaro the chance to back out, but Ryutaro refuses and accepts the duel request.
Ryutaro wins the duel, and informs the hackers that they're going to freeze their accounts as punishment and that the various members would either receive warnings or tournament bans. The debugging team arrest all the hackers, though Ryutaro gives Aruba his spare account telling him to play the game using it as he wants a rematch. He leaves on Tyrannomon, and takes the dinosaur to coast to swim. Before they can swim though, Winr contacts him and tells him the group had been summoned by the GMs as they were unhappy with how they had dealt with the investigation.

Gameplay notes[]
Ryutaro Williams vs. Aruba Dokuson[]
The start of the duel is skipped. Ryutaro Williams has lost three of his security cards, has EX8-014: MasterTyrannomon in his battle area, Tyrannomon in his Breeding Area, and two copies of EX8-065: Ryutaro Williams on the field. Aruba has two copies of BT18-034: Lucemon and one copy of BT18-082: Lucemon: Chaos Mode. Standard actions such as drawing a card at start of turn or after digivolving are generally omitted for clarity.
Ryutaro has MasterTyrannomon attack Aruba's security, and activates the effect of one of his two Tamer cards. As a Digimon with Tyrannomon in its name attacked, he is allowed to digivolve it into either another Digimon with Tyrannomon in its name or a Dinosaur type Digimon for one less memory at the cost of suspending the Tamer card. He uses the effect to digivolve MasterTyrannomon into EX8-016: Dinomon. Usually it would cost 5 to digivolve to Dinomon, however Ryutaro was able to lower the cost by 2 — 1 from the Tamer card and 1 from Dinomon's own effect, as its digivolution cost is lowered by 1 if it digivolves from a Tyrannomon species or Dinosaur type Digimon. He activates Dinomon's on digivolving effect, suspending one Digimon on the field with the second part of its effect destroying the suspended Digimon on Aruba's field with the lowest DP. Ryutaro uses the effect to destroy one of the two Lucemon. As MasterTyrannomon's attack was still considered to be in effect, the attack continues but with it now as Dinomon. Dinomon has Security Attack+1, and as such is able to remove the first two of Aruba's security cards. Dinomon survives both checks and then suspends, with another of its effects making it so that whilst Dinomon is suspended Aruba can only attack suspended Digimon.
- All currently existing MasterTyrannomon cards have the inherited Security+1 effect. As such, Dinomon's attack should've removed three security not two. One for the regular attack, one for Dinomon's Security+1 effect, and one for MasterTyrannomon's inherited Security+1 effect.
Aruba activates the effect of his remaining Lucemon, trashing a card in his hand and giving Ryutaro the option of either trashing one of his security cards or allowing Aruba to place the top card of his deck into his security. Ryutaro chooses to trash a security card. Aruba then uses the effect of BT18-101: Lucemon: Satan Mode from his hand, allowing him to digivolve it on top of Lucemon: Chaos Mode for 6 memory. He activates its on digivolving effect, which allows him to take a Lucemon Larva from the trash and place it in his empty Breeding Area and then destroy one of Ryutaro's Digimon or Tamers. He moves BT18-086: Lucemon: Larva to his Breeding Area, and then destroys Dinomon. Ryutaro activates the Fortitude effect of Dinomon, which allows it to revive itself for free provided it had digivolution sources under it. This activates Dinomon's On Play effect, the same as its prior on digivolving effect. It allows him to suspend a Digimon and then destroy the suspended Digimon on the field with the lowest DP. He uses the effect to target the now suspended Lucemon: Satan Mode but Aruba uses the effect of Lucemon: Larva which allows him to prevent a Lucemon: Satan Mode from being destroyed by moving Larva to the Battle Area. Aruba decides to pass and end his turn, with this activating Lucemon: Satan Mode's end of turn effect to trash Ryutaro's last remaining security card.
Both copies of Ryutaro's Tamer card give him 1 memory each at the start of his turn, giving him 5. He moves Tyrannomon from the Breeding Area to the Battle Area, with its start of main phase effect increasing its DP by 3000 until the end of Aruba's next turn. He attacks with it, digivolving it to another copy of MasterTyrannomon for a lowered cost of 1 by suspending one of the two Tamers. The cost was further lowered by 1 for a cost of 2 (usually 4) via it digivolving on top of a lv4 Dinosaur type Digimon. Tyrannomon's inherited effect further increases the stacks DP by another 2000. MasterTyrannomon's when digivolving effect allows Ryutaro to suspend one of Aruba's Digimon, which he uses to suspend Lucemon. He then suspends the other Tamer card, allowing him to digivolve MasterTyrannomon with him digivolving it into another copy of Dinomon for a cost of 4 instead of 6 due to the same effects as last time. Dinomon's when digivolving effect allows him to suspend a Digimon and then destroy the lowest DP Digimon. He suspends an unspecified card and then destroys Lucemon. The previous attack continues, with Dinomon's Security+1 effect and MasterTyrannomon's inherited Security+1 effect allowing Ryutaro to check three cards. The first was another copy of Lucemon: Satan Mode, who has 16,000DP. Dinomon is able to survive though, as the DP boosts from Tyrannomon and MasterTyrannomon increased its DP by 5000, it being being 18,000 instead of 13,000. It survives the final two checks, with Ryutaro having his second Dinomon attack Aruba directly for the win as he had no more security shields left.
