This article is about the Digimon named "Datamon" in English materials and "Nanomon" in Japanese materials. For the Digimon species known as "Nanomon" in Digimon Xros Wars materials, see Nanomon (Super Digica Taisen). |
Datamon is Machine Digimon. It is an ultra-small therapeutic Machine Digimon. It was once a Vaccine Digimon used to restore crashed computers, but it was attacked by a strong Virus Digimon, which destroyed its logic circuits and, of course, made it run wild. It re-constructs the data selfishly, even with normally-running computers. Despite its small stature, Datamon can easily delete bigger and stronger Digimon.[5]
Attacks
- Digital Bomb (Plug Bomb): Fires several computer viruses from its fingers, which can delete enemies.
- Data Crusher (Nano Crush)
- Counter Trap

Izzy reluctantly participates in Nanomon's cruel game which results in Nanomon taking Tai and Agumon hostage as well when Izzy fails to pass a challenge. Eventually, Izzy has an epiphany that allows MegaKabuterimon to digivolve into HerculesKabuterimon to face GranKuwagamon. Having deduced that Nanomon is actually hiding inside of Whamon, Izzy tricks it into coming out and then engages Nanomon and GranKuwagamon in battle. HerculesKabuterimon defeats GranKugamon, blasting it out of the sky before catching the defeated Nanomon who Izzy chastises for using its knowledge to hurt people and declares victory. Nanomon's normally yellow light, which has been red up until this point, then returns to normal.
Upon their return to the ground, Nanomon ecstatically greets Izzy, revealing that it is actually Garbagemon's friend and research partner. Izzy and Tentomon are surprised by Nanomon's sudden change in personality, but Tai and Agumon, having escaped from their prison inside of Whamon, have discovered the truth: Nanomon was actually being controlled by the Soundbirdmon, worrying the DigiDestined as they had previously served Devimon who is gone now. Free of the Soundbirdmon's control, Nanomon proves to be very friendly instead of cruel and shows no memory of its time under mind control.
