Synopsis[]
Yuuki celebrates winning a duel against an NPC in the Emerald Coast. HeavyMetaldramon, though, scolds her as she nearly lost on multiple occasions and that she should be beating mid-tier NPCs easier than she is — Yuuki even admitting to herself that any human player would've beaten her easily. She tells Impmon to stop taking everything so seriously and that she's just playing the story to have fun. With neither of them listening to the NPC giving them the storyline information after beating it since they were busy quarrelling, they realize the quest is over when they get the "STORY CLEAR" notification. They look at the quest rewards, then set off go to clear another story mission.
Whilst wandering around, Yuuki realizes she has no idea where they are and yells out about how she's lost. She looks at her D-STORAGE, confused as she found it weird she got lost despite following the arrow. They check the map and see the map does indeed have a tracker sending them to an NPC, but that the map looks nothing like their current location. Despite this, they were supposedly near where the NPC was. Figuring this was a bug, Impmon points out it's their job to deal with it as debuggers and though Impmon suggests logging out and telling the GMs about it — Yuuki instead decides she wants to actually continue playing the quest. A worried Impmon rejects her idea, though changes its mind after she calls it a wimp — successfully tricking her partner into going along with her wishes.
They wander around some more, eventually finding a a circular clearing. Yuuki, finding it pretty, runs to it — but is attacked by Huckmon, who's attack narrowly misses her. It tells her not to get any closer, and that if she does — it will have to deal with her. They see Huckmon was protecting a group of Rookie and In-Training Digimon, and as members of the debug team, they had a duty to capture them and put them in cards so that they could survive. Huckmon tells them that this was a sanctuary, with the Digimon living there able to live without human intervention. Not wanting any humans to know about the location, it prepares to attack Yuuki — saying it knows she works for the debug team and so has to kill her as she works for Cool Boy — who apparently abandoned Huckmon and the others. It summons an NPC, and despite Yuuki saying she has no clue about this betrayal — it says it will never forgive humans and wants to kill them all. It tries to convince Impmon to join its side, figuring it was being tricked by Yuuki, but an angry Impmon stands by its partners side. Yuuki tries to calm them both down, but Huckmon refuses to listen and says the only way it will do so if she proves herself in battle. To their surprise, Huckmon gives Yuuki a new card and tells her that if she is able to use that card succesfully — it will consider her to have proven her strength and will listen to her. They then agree to the duel.

Synopsis[]
Yuuki duels the NPC summoned by Huckmon.
As she duels, she says how she wants to become friends with it and the Digimon it was protecting, with Huckmon admiring her warrior attitude.
As it looks like Yuuki was going to lose, Jesmon GX tells them to surrender and if they do it may consider sparing their lives. It continues to say that humans aren't needed, its insults angering HeavyMetaldramon even further. It brings up that despite humans being from a different World to the Digimon, alongside the fact they can log out whenever they want, they had no reason to help the Digimon — yet they do. It says that though it may be arrogant for humans to want to be friends with Digimon, that's fine, they have managed to build a bond together, and Yuuki can prove to Huckmon that human and Digimon bonds are real. This speech spurs Yuuki back into the duel, which she eventually wins thanks to the very card Huckmon gave her.
Having proven herself, she and Huckmon talk. She learns that Huckmon actually came a different world entirely, not LACUNA, and that Cool Boy had created that world. Cool Boy had told it that it had created it, as it was able to save the lives of the Digimon who would stray from the Digital World. As they spent time together, Huckmon and the others grew to trust Cool Boy — though he began visiting their World less and less. In that world, there was an unknown beast Digimon that everyone grew to love. The beast Digimon was attacked by an unknown mechanical Digimon, and though Jesmon was able to defeat it and protect its friend — its usage of Aus Generics caused it to end up in this world. As it travelled LACUNA, it learned Cool Boy had been creating this even bigger game World for the same purpose. It wonders if Cool Boy intended to move the ones in Huckmon's world to this one someday, or if he had been creating it so that the Digimon within this one would attack and destroy the previous world as it was no longer needed — which is why it was hiding its friends inside the glitched map. It asks Yuuki if Cool Boy would do something like that, with Yuuki insisting that he would never do such a thing. This pleases Huckmon, who apologizes for what it had done. It says they can do whatever they want to it for having attacked them, but asks them to leave its friends out of it as it does not want them to come to harm. Yuuki though, says she will not report what had happened to anyone, and that she just wants it to come visit her and Cool Boy when it feels like it's able to trust humans. Huckmon is surprised to be let off the hook, and agrees to Yuuki's request for her to come visit it from time to time. Amazed at what Yuuki had managed to achieve, Impmon says she really may be able to become friends with every single Digimon.
Yuuki's D-STORAGE sends her an emergency notification, and they learn that an army of Imperialdramon were attacking LACUNA. As Huckmon assures them it can protect its friends from harm, Yuuki and Impmon leave to help quell the Imperialdramon.

Gameplay notes[]
Yuuki vs. NPC[]
The start of the duel is skipped. Yuuki has four security remaining, EX7-062: HeavyMetaldramon, BT20-075: Loudmon, two Tamer cards (two of which are EX7-065: Yuuki and BT20-090: Yuuki) and LM-032: Purple Scramble on her field. The NPC has has three security remaining, and BT20-014: SaviorHuckmon in its Breeding Area.
- The novel states SaviorHuckmon was in the Battle Area, but the NPC moves it from the Breeding Area to the Battle Area in its next turn — meaning its original statement was wrong.
HeavyMetaldramon attacks the NPC directly, checking a security card and surviving.
On the NPC's turn, it moves SaviorHuckmon from the Breeding Area to the Battle Area then plays the Option Card ST12-14: Aus Generics for 1 memory — which increases SaviorHuckmon's DP by 2000 for the rest of the turn. Since the NPC has a Digimon with Huckmon in its name, the rest of its effect activates giving the NPC 1 memory alongside giving SaviorHuckmon the piercing ability. It plays BT20-057: Gankoomon for 8 memory, 4 lower as it has a Digimon with Huckmon in its name on the field. It uses its On Play effect — allowing it to digivolve one Digimon on its field for free into either a lv6 Digimon or lower Digimon with Huckmon, Jesmon, or Sistermon in its name or into a Royal Knight from its hand or trash. It uses this effect, and digivolves Gankoomon into BT20-059: Gankoomon (X Antibody) for free since it's a Royal Knight. It uses its On Play effect, allowing it to de-digivolve one of Yuuki's Digimon twice. It uses this to de-digivolve HeavyMetaldramon down to Punkmon. As Gankoomon is in Gankoomon (X Antibody)'s digivolution sources, all Digimon on the NPC's field are immune to Digimon effects until the end of Yuuki's next turn. As the NPC's turn just came to an end, SaviorHuckmon's effect activates — by suspending one Digimon (Gankoomon (X Antibody)) it can digivolve into a Digimon with Jesmon in its name for free. It digivolves to BT20-017: Jesmon then uses its On Play effect to play a Atho, René, and Por Token. As a Digimon was just played, the NPC is allowed to delete one of Yuuki's Digimon with less than 9000DP and deletes Loudmon. Jesmon is then allowed to attack. Due to SaviorHuckmons inheritect Alliance effect, Jesmon is allowed to suspend one Digimon and add its DP to its own. It suspends the Atho, René, and Por Token — increasing its DP by 8000. Alongside the DP gained via the previous option card (2000) and the inherited effects of BT20-008: Huckmon and BT20-013: BaoHuckmon (1000 each to all Digimon its field) — Jesmon now had 23000DP. It also gives it Security Attack+1. Jesmon attacks and destroys Punkmon, uses its Piercing effect to check two security, and survives the two security battles.
- The novel says Jesmon is at 240000 DP, however the effects and DP additions stated only add up to 230000. Either there's an unspecified card on the field increasing it an extra 1000 or the novel is wrong.
At the start of Yuuki's turn, Gankoomon (X Antibody)'s "Opponent's Turn" effect gives all Sistermon/Royal Knights/Huckmon in named Digimon Reboot and Blocker — the Reboot effect allowing Jesmon to unsuspend. Yuuki uses the delay effect of Purple Scramble, which allows her to return a purple card to the top of her deck and then play a purple Digimon with less than 3000DP from her trash for free. She uses this to play EX7-050: Impmon. As the NPC has a Digimon, EX7 Yuuki gives Yuuki 1 memory. She digivolves Impmon to BT20-69: Punkmon, Punkmon to Loudmon, and then Loudmon to HeavyMetaldramon. Loudmon has Yuuki trash 2 cards in her hand in return for 1 of her Digimon gaining Raid and Piercing. HeavyMetaldramon forces Yuuki to trash two cards to try and delete a Digimon with the same or lower DP than it — but the NPC's Digimon are immune to Digimon effects. Yuuki uses the Option Card BT20-096: Black Sabbath for 2 cost, its effect allowing her to pay 6 memory as she has less than 5 cards in her hand in return for sending it to the bottom of the deck and then deleting one unsuspended Digimon on the NPC's field. Yuuki tries to delete Jesmon, but the NPC uses the Decoy effect of Atho, René, and Por to have them be deleted in Jesmon's place. As Yuuki's turn just came to an end, she uses the End of Turn effect of HeavyMetaldramon to play a Evil, Dark Dragon, or Evil Digimon type Digimon with a Play Cost of 8 or less to for free, though the allowed Play Cost is lowered by 1 for each card in her hand. She uses the effect to play BT20-077: HeavyMetaldramon ACE, who's effect allows her to trash cards in her hand until she has 4 left (though this effect fails, since she already has less than 4) followed by playing a Dark Dragon or Evil Dragon with 8000DP or less from the trash (lowered by 2000 for each card in her hand). She uses the effect to play the 6000DP EX7-056: Orochimon. She uses the effect of BT20 Yuuki, allowing her an Evil Dragon or Dark Dragon Digimon attack as she has less than 4 cards in her hand. She has HeavyMetaldramon attack, then uses previously gained Raid to change the attack target to Gankoomon (X-Antibody). As the NPC was just attacked, it uses the Blast Digivolve effect of the BT20-021: Jesmon GX ACE in its hand to digivolve Jesmon into it for free. Its When Digivolving effect activates, allowing the NPC to put a Royal Knight from its hand or trash under it as a digivolution source and then delete a Digimon with the same or less DP than GX. It uses this effect to put BT20-019: Jesmon (X Antibody) under it, and then deletes HeavyMetaldramon ACE. This activates its Overflow ability, lowering Yuuki's memory by 4. HeavyMetaldramon was still able to destroy Gankoomon (X-Antibody), though — with its Piercing allowing it to check 2 security thanks to the inherited Security Attack+1 of Loudmon.
Jesmon GX attacks Orochimon, then uses its When Attacking effect (the same as its When Digivolving effect) to place Gankoomon (X Antibody) under itself and then delete HeavyMetaldramon. As it now has two Royal Knights under it, it uses another When Attacking effect — allowing it to unsuspend and trash the top card of Yuuki's security. Yuuki uses the Blast Digivolve effect of another HeavyMetaldramon ACE in her hand, digivolving it on top of Orochimon since she was just attacked. Yuuki uses its When Digivolving effect, playing Punkmon from the trash. She uses its On Play effect, trashing the last card in her hand to give one Digimon on her field the Blocker and Retaliation effects. Punkmon blocks the attack, and as it has the Retaliation effect — its destruction also causes Jesmon GX to be destroyed as well. The rest of the duel is skipped, with Yuuki winning.
