The DigiDestined come across an unfamiliar forest. There they meet Etemon and Volcamon who are battling over the title for the King of Digimon. Tai and others are dragged into their fight.
Summary[]
As the DigiDestined continue towards FAGA by retracing Gatomon's memories, they have an unexpected encounter with two Ultimate Digimon that are vying for the title of King of Digimon: Etemon, who prefers entertainment to attract the masses, and Volcamon, who prefers exercise, complete with rapping and singing. However, the energy they unleash seriously affects the DigiDestined's partners, resulting in either their attacks misfiring, being unable to attack, or being reverted to their Rookie stages because of the effect Etemon and Volcamon have on their data.
Luckily, Mimi is able to try and talk to Etemon and Volcamon down, but their teamwork overpowers her until Palmon uses one of the maracas Koshiro salvaged from Garbagemon to momentarily stop them while Patamon is trapped in the flower bud on her head, which results in her digivolution to Togemon being altered, with the new result being Ponchomon. Ponchomon easily overpowers Volcamon and Etemon's soundwaves, and when they attempt physical attacks, Ponchomon easily defeats them both with her Tequila Knuckle attack. Impressed, both Etemon and Volcamon ask Ponchomon to partner with them, and surrender their quarrel over being King of Digimon to her since she proved herself worthy of the title. With them defeated and the DigiDestined's partners having recovered, they continue on towards FAGA once Izzy discovers that the data on the flash drive he salvaged from Garbagemon provides a map that, when compared with Gatomon's memories, will make reaching FAGA much easier.
