Bancho (バンチョー Banchō?) is a group of five Digimon. It is said that only Digimon who continue to emerge victorious in battles with fierce champions, without their spirit being "broken", are able to acquire the title of "Bancho".[4] The Bancho, codenamed "BAN-TYO", were the target of a D-Brigade assassination operation, and the Tankdramon they shot down was retrieved and taken to a D-Brigade research facility, where it digivolved into the rogue Darkdramon, who hunts them even now.[5] Bancho Digimon are at the Mega level, regardless of the level they were before digivolution.[6]

The title of Bancho was originally taken by Digimon who watched old movies and admired the idea of such "ringleaders." When a Bancho Digimon dies, they pass their title onto another Digimon, and apparently there are even other Digimon with the title of Bancho that have yet to be discovered.[6]

The Bancho[7] also known as the Ringleaders[8] are a group of five Digimon that gained the title of "Bancho" after winning countless battles. They consist of BanchoLillymon, BanchoLeomon, BanchoStingmon, BanchoGolemon, and BanchoMamemon. Most Digimon seem to think they are evil and they are used to being assumed as such despite being good Digimon. The Adventures of the Graffiti Knight and the Bear Cub

A Darkdramon, still trying to complete its "Codename: BAN-TYO" mission, becomes known for appearing when powerful entities would clash, in the hopes of finding the Bancho, after which it would destroy the area. Black and White Duet

The Bancho, sans BanchoMamemon – who was too busy – meet up in the Human World to discuss their recent achievements, something they do regularly as being a Bancho means they don't have many friends. The meeting is crashed by Omekamon, Kazuma Natsuyagi, and Bearmon, as Omekamon had told them the Bancho Digimon were evil and had arrived to cause trouble. Omekamon attacks them, though is easily defeated by BanchoStingmon. BanchoStingmon states it put no power into its attack as fighting weaker Digimon would be against its pride and the trio realise their error and apologise to the group. The Bancho allow the trio to join their meeting and after Bearmon asks how it can become as strong as them they offer to help Bearmon and Omekamon train, after which BanchoGolemon grabs the trio and throws them through the Digital Point into the Digital World. Bearmon and Omekamon defeat a large group of Kuwagamon and Okuwamon there though are unable to defeat a GranKuwagamon. BanchoLeomon steps in and causes it to retreat when it tells it is its new opponent, with BanchoLeomon impressed that the duo had refused to give up. Omekamon had attempted to sacrifice itself to save Bearmon and Kazuma, whilst Bearmon had tapped into its "Inner Bancho" to try and save Omekamon. With their new found resolves Bearmon and Omekamon promise they will one day be even stronger than the Bancho, and the Bancho agree to fight them when they are one day strong enough to fight the Bancho. BanchoLillymon is one of only five Digimon to have gained the title of "Bancho", having won countless battles.

Upon finding Primary Village, BanchoLillymon decides to take it upon itself to look after the In-Training Digimon that lived there. This becomes problematic however when its vernacular and personality rub off on the In-Training Digimon and they start to copy it. When Patamon, who used to live in the Village, decides to visit - it is surprised at the fact the In-Training Digimon were now living as delinquents and learns from the nearby Elecmon what had happened during its absence. It decides to visit BanchoLillymon to try and tell it to stop being such a bad influence though BanchoLillymon's three underlings, Goblimon, Raremon, and Elecmon try to stop it. After being defeated they take it to BanchoLillymon and it refuses to listen to Patamon, and so a fight between it and Patamon, now digivolved to Angemon, happens. In the middle of the fight however, BanchoLillymon declares it is nap time and with the help of Goblimon, Raremon, and Elecmon, put the delinquent In-Training Digimon to sleep. BanchoLillymon puts the trio in charge of the In-Training Digimon and leaves with Angemon so that they could continue their fight where they wont disturb the sleeping babies. Having previously put up a good fight, BanchoLillymon's power difference begins to show and Angemon begins to struggle. As Angemon asks why BanchoLillymon had decided to start looking after the babies and that it didn't seem to be a bad Digimon, Motimon suddenly runs in and tells them that Tokomon and Wanyamon were in trouble, the trio of In-Training Digimon having escaped to sneak into Breakdramon's territory whilst the underlings weren't paying attention in defiance of BanchoLillymon who had told them to never go there. Worried, BanchoLillymon runs to the scene, and Angemon follows, the two of them getting there just in time to stop Breakdramon from killing them and Elecmon, who had found the runaway Digimon. As BanchoLillymon fights Breakdramon, Wanyamon tells Breakdramon to stop hurting BanchoLillymon and runs in the way of an attack intended to kill its caretaker. This shocks Angemon, who digivolves to MagnaAngemon, takes the blow instead, digivolves once again to Seraphimon, and then defeats Breakdramon. After Breakdramon wakes up BanchoLillymon forces it and the baby Digimon to apologise to each other and after Seraphimon tells them they don't have to fight as they're all friends, Breakdramon decides to leave on a journey so that it could be strong enough to defeat Seraphimon. BanchoLillymon then decides to do the same thing having realised it wasn't strong enough to protect the In-Training Digimon on its own and tells Patamon to look after Primary Village whilst it was gone. Everyone is shocked and upset that BanchoLillymon had decided to leave though all decide to become stronger as well so that they could impress BanchoLillymon when it one day returns. Lullabies of an Angel and a Ringleader

BanchoLillymon later attends the Bancho meeting in the Human World and watches BanchoStingmon easily defeat Omekamon, who had crashed the meeting with Kazuma Natsuyagi and Bearmon, as Omekamon had told them the Bancho Digimon were evil and had arrived to cause trouble. After BanchoStingmon tells them that it put no power into its attack as fighting weaker Digimon would be against its pride the trio realise their error and apologise to the Bancho. They offer to help Bearmon and Omekamon train, after which BanchoGolemon grabs the trio and throws them through the Digital Point into the Digital World so that they could train there. BanchoLillymon, BanchoGolemon, and BanchoStingmon remain in the Human World and continue their meeting, whilst BanchoLeomon goes to the Digital World. When the group return from the Digital World the other Bancho are pleased to see the progress made by Omekamon and Bearmon and the whole group agree to fight them in the future when they are as strong as the Bancho. The Adventures of the Graffiti Knight and the Bear Cub

When the Digital World falls into disarray after Eiji Futami breaks into the Kernel, a large group of evil Digimon and Spiral cause havoc in the Digital World. The Spiral decide to try and take advantage and attack all over the Digital World and BanchoLillymon travels across it defeating them to help protect the weaker Digimon. Whilst doing so, it comes across Goblimon and Raremon about to be killed a Darkdramon. BanchoLillymon jumps into the battle and protects them, with the trio delighted with their reunion. It tells them to go to Primary Village to be safe though they instead tell it about their plan, as they had been told by Jijimon that if they went into the nearby cave they could obtain the power of the Ten Legendary Warriors and then use said power to become powerful Mega Digimon who could help protect everyone. Moved by their resolve BanchoLillymon fights Darkdramon and is able to take away all of its attention with it having finally found a member of the Bancho. Tales of the Little Goblin and Its Friend
