Altea (アルテア Arutea?) is a character in Digimon Liberator DEBUG and Digimon Liberator. His partner is Espimon, and he plays a Stealth Beat deck.[1]

Description[]

With the appearance of a powered-up superhero, the manners of a gentleman, and a razor-sharp wit, Altea is often the one to calm things down when a dispute arises. On the other hand, he is less successful with humor—his frequent attempts at puns (inspired by his passion for language-learning) usually fall flat, much to his bemusement.[1]

Fiction[]

Altea is a fully autonomous AI concierge created by the GM Yao Qinglan. Both he and his partner Espimon have GM status, and primarily work from the Garden in an administrative role, also supporting the debugging team.[1]

After four months of training from Yao on how to play the Digimon Card Game, Yao asked Altea if he had any goals — to which he asked Yao to take him to see the outside World. DEBUG.5-1 Altea

One day, Altea sends Ryutaro Williams, Yuuki, and Winr a mission to deal with some cheaters — the trio taking the place of the GMs as they were too busy to deal with it themselves. DEBUG.3-1 Ryutaro After the group defeat the cheaters, the GMs summon the trio to yell at them as they were unhappy with how they had dealt with the investigation. DEBUG.3-2 WE CAN BE HEROES

Eight months after telling Yao his dream, Altea attends the debug team meeting that had been set up to induct Shoto Kazama and Arisa Kinosaki as the newest members of the debug team. SELECT FEW (Part 1)

Yao had spent large parts of said eight months creating a virtual version of Shinjuku so that she could at least take him to a virtual recreation of part of the outside world. She doesn't end up taking him herself though, he instead goes with Cool Boy. Altea and Espimon have fun, then after having their fill — discuss business. Cool Boy asks him what he thinks of Maquinamon, with Altea saying he didn't think they were a threat. Cool Boy agrees, since they're weak and lack the primal desire to seek competition. He asks what they should do with them, though Altea says that he should ask Unchained instead. Espimon makes the suggestion to create an isolated environment, where they would live on their own — then suggests the area they're currently in. Cool Boy says that whilst it's possible, it isn't really optimal, and that they would have to spend a long time figuring out a place they could actually stay. Altea says he will continue to analyze the Maquinamon data, and brings up how there's another member of the debug team that has a partner who is composed of biological and mechanical components like Maquinamon. Cool Boy then says how said member had actually been invited to their meeting and should be arriving soon. Shortly after saying that, Chitose Horaiji arrives. He mentions how they had questions about Composite type Digimon, and as Altea brings up how Chitose was the first person to deal with a rampaging Ultimate level Digimon – Cool Boy leaves as he had a meeting to attend. Chitose confirms the story, saying that he had dealt with a Kimeramon – with it having become his partner as a dedigivolved Gazimon. He then summons Gazimon to meet Altea. DEBUG.5-1 Altea Chitose and Altea duel so that Altea can learn more about Composite type Digimon, with Altea winning. Chitose apologizes for insulting Altea just because he's an AI, which Altea quickly forgives. Altea says what he learned from the duel, and that he thinks Maquinamon probably isn't a Composite type Digimon. Chitose asks why, with Altea saying that it learned from the duel that a Composite type Digimon needs to be at a certain level to be be able to properly control itself — and whilst Kimeramon and Machinedramon were Ultimate and Mega Digimon respectively, Deltamon was only a Champion and was not in full control of itself. Seeing this, he figured it would be impossible for the Rookie level Maquinamon to control itself if it were a Composite. Chitose wonders instead if it came about as a result of a mutation, though Altea doubts this hypothesis since there are so many of them and that it is, instead, a Digimon who intrinsically embodies the opposing notions of nature and civilization. Altea says that if they intend to protect the Maquinamon, they needed to research it more — with Chitose agreeing. DEBUG.5-2 SHINJUKU GIANT

One day, a large amount of black holes open up in Jewel. Unchained tells Cool Boy that they predicted the current issue could cause LACUNA to be destroyed. The admins log out all regular players — though allow staff and debug team members to remain logged in. Yao reports to Cool Boy that there had been reports of large data Digimon appearing within the holes, whilst Altea answers Cool Boy's question about how many debuggers were logged in with the fact that half of them currently were and had all travelled to the Garden after being notified to do so. Cool Boy decides he will send them all to Jewel to deal with the Digimon, though Altea quickly notes that he had just noticed not all members had gone to the Garden... Shoto was in the middle of a quest in Lapis Marine. Upset that it meant Shoto had put his notifications on mute, Cool Boy decides he would have to go and get Shoto himself. RAID ON THE WORLD (Part 1)

A few weeks after the BlackImperialdramon rampage is dealt with, Yao requests Suzune Kazuki, Ryutaro, Winr, Yuuki, and Altea meet her in Avalon. She tells them that Cool Boy had been trapped inside Cross Connectia and that she was giving them a special mission to save him. She also tells them that they had since learned that Zenith's data that had gotten corrupted during the BlackImperialdramon incident had also ended up in Cross Connectia. Ryutaro says that he had heard about Zenith's corrupted data, but had also heard Zenith himself was fine — with Yao saying that Zenith had actually gone missing shortly after the incident. Map data damaged by the Imperialdramon had also ended up in the game as well. Suzune brings up how the "Alice glitch" that traps players within virtual worlds had been dealt with more than a decade before, and asks Yao where Cool Boy's real body was — with Suzune pressing her more and more as Yao doesn't answer. Yuuki cuts Suzune off and says that the group will just go to Cross Connectia to save Cool Boy and Zenith's data, with Winr's shocked reaction that Yuuki knows the term "killing two birds with one stone" turning the mood from serious to silly. With the mood change calming Yao down, she apologizes to Suzune and says she will tell her soon, though Suzune says she should be the one apologizing and that she was just worried about the possibility that the Alice glitch had returned. The group accept the mission, with Yao giving them all access to Cross Connectia. The group quickly log into the game, though Yuuki winds up cancelling her transfer in the middle of it causing the other four to arrive without her. THE SKY FALL (Part 2)

Shortly after arriving, Altea has Espimon digivolve to Oblivimon and do a quick search the island, though it is unable to find any traces of the duo during its short search. As Altea returns to the others, he hears them talk about how they have no idea where to start looking, and posits that Cool Boy likely knew someone could come for him and as such would have done something for that. Having just arrived to the conversation, Altea says that's an insightful point and tells them that Oblivimon hadn't found anything in their search. Though they worry over the fact Altea hadn't found anything, some of them joke that they would need the help of Yuuki to find them as she was talented at getting lost and so would probably find them in the middle of being lost. As they laugh over this, they hear Oblivimon scream out that everyone needs to get away.

Ryutaro, Winr, and Suzune digivolve their partners to the Ultimate level — who defend their partners and Altea from the attacks that were about to hit them. Mistymon reveals itself, and says that they are capable Digimon. Winr recognizes Mistymon from a card he had seen before, and as he says Mistymon's name — Mistymon figures he knew who Mistymon was as they were invading and planning to kill everyone inside Cross Connectia. They try to say that isn't the case, but Mistymon cuts them off and says it knows all about the humans who use trading cards and that it wont allow them to carry out their plan. As the others are distracted by Mistymon, a large group of Ultimate level Digimon manage to capture Altea. Altea calls out to his allies, who turn around and notice what had happened. Betsumon tells Mistymon that Altea wasn't human — which has Mistymon decide they would keep Altea since he wasn't a human. Just as Ryutaro was about to have MasterTyrannomon digivolve to Mega — Suzune stops him and points out it'd be a bad idea as doing so could result in their Mega Digimon killing the Ultimates and that that would prove them right that they were "invaders wanting to kill everyone". As Mistymon and the others leave with their hostage, Mistymon tells them that they haven't been spared, the "Guardians" would kill them, have them surrounded from all sides, and that humans weren't welcome in Cross Connectia.

Oblivimon chases after Altea and his kidnappers, worried about its partner's safety. As they talk quietly via voice call, Altea tells it not to worry and he will use this to his advantage to investigate his kidnappers stronghold. Altea digivolves Oblivimon to Invisimon, and tells it to use its invisibility powers to infiltrate the Guardian's stronghold. DEBUG.10 Attack
