When Takuma and his friends are attacked by a group of Gotsumon, an earthquake suddenly happens and splits the group up. Takuma, now on his own, comes across Koromon who states he had been waiting a long time for him. As the two become friends, the duo are found by one of the Gotsumon — who attacks Takuma once again. Koromon tries to protect Takuma but is easily defeated. He tells Takuma to flee and save himself but Takuma refuses to leave his new friend behind and instead tries to do the same thing as Koromon, telling him to escape instead. Spurred on by Takuma's bravery, Koromon evolves to Agumon.

Greymon[]

Agumon only evolves to Greymon if Takuma's moral karma is the highest before fighting Dokugumon.
Greymon s

Greymon is one of Agumon's Champion forms.[1]

When the children visit the abandoned school, mistakenly thinking it was the school they had previously visited, they find that a giant Dokugumon and its many smaller Dokugumon minions had taken over it, and would kidnap those who enter. They would trap them in its web and slowly drain their life force until they die. The Dokugumon are able to kidnap some of the group and trap them in the gym. The others are able to get into the gym through the secret passage the Dokugumon used due to help from Haru and Miyuki Minase though the large amount of Champion level Digimon prove too much for Agumon and his allies. Agumon is able to evolve to the Champion level, after which Greymon and his allies defeat the Dokugumon and save their kidnapped friends.

When the group, sans Shuuji Kayama, come to the conclusion they need to talk to the kidnappers to find out more information about the World since they're the ones who are sacrificing children — they figure out the enemy base is past the waterway. As they travel there, Arukenimon follows them unnoticed. As she stalks them, she sees Shuuji bullying his his partner — Lopmon — and finding that to be interesting, comes up with a plan to use it to her advantage.

As the group travel through the waterway, Arukenimon is eventually discovered by Falcomon. She plays coy and asks them why they were there, pretending she had been there the entire time. She threatens to kill them, though rather than fight them — since she was outnumbered — she creates a thick gas which knocks the entire group out. She splits them all up into different parts of the waterway and has her minions pretend to be fake versions of the partner Kemonogami, who insult them and even try to kill them, though the children are able to figure out that they were fake and not their actual partners since they would never do those things. The exception is Shuuji, who she has see fake versions of his father instead. After the group reunite with Shuuji his mental state taken a turn for the worse and he runs away, claiming to hear voices. He runs into a fake version of Arukenimon and, remembering they were meant to be asking the kidnappers about the world tells her that they just want to go home and didn't want to fight her or her allies in the first place. The fake Arukenimon tells him that she will let them go home, though only if they give her a sacrifice as compensation. Shuuji initially agrees, though realizes that he doesn't have it in him to sacrifice one of the others. Instead, he offers himself up as a sacrifice with the fake Arukenimon summoning MegaSeadramon to do the job. Shuuji freaks out, stating he doesn't want to die, which amuses Arukenimon. Lopmon arrives and tries to protect him, but is easily defeated. Shuuji, angry at how weak Lopmon is, tells it that if it could evolve it would be able to kill the enemies and attacks it — his hatred for Lopmon reaching its breaking point.

This happens in the moral, wrathful, and harmonious routes.

As he beats up Lopmon, the others arrive and try to stop him though the real Arukenimon summons the real MegaSeadramon and has it stall them. As the group fight MegaSeadramon, Shuuji continues to beat up Lopmon and tells it to evolve and kill their enemies. Lopmon begs him to stop, but he refuses to do so and Lopmon eventually dark evolves to Wendigomon. Shuuji, now with his partner evolved, tells it to kill the enemy and it proceeds to easily kill the real MegaSeadramon. He tells it that they will kill every evil monster that looks down on him, however Wendigomon instead grabs Shuuji and starts to eat him. Arukenimon laughs in delight, and watches it as it attacks the other children as well.

As the children fight Wendigomon in self defence, their attacks do very little to the enraged beast. They hear Shuuji's voice coming out of Wendigomon, with him claiming that he deserves to die. Realizing that is isn't dead yet they decide they would save both Lopmon and Shuuji with their desire to do so causing Agumon to evolve to the Ultimate level. The group are able to defeat Wendigomon, however the fog surrounds it with it spawning a large amount of hands that proceed to kill Wendigomon. As Shuuji was still inside Wendigomon's mouth, he dies alongside his partner. Arukenimon mocks the others and tells them this wouldn't have happened had the Kemonogami had never gotten themselves involved with the humans, with the group attempting to fight Arukenimon to avenge their fallen friends. Arukenimon however, is able to get away.

This happens in the truthful route.

As he beats up Lopmon, the others arrive with Ryo charging in and punching him the face telling him he is a dick, that Lopmon doesn't deserve to be physically beaten up, and that he was doing his best to keep Shuuji safe. Shuuji realizes that Ryo was right, though sick of seeing this happen Arukenimon interrupts and decides to kill them. The others arrive as Arukenimon summons the real MegaSeadramon, who proceeds to attack the kids. As they fight MegaSeadramon, Shuuji sees Lopmon's wounds and worries for him. Lopmon asks if he had been useful to him, with Shuuji shocked that Lopmon still cared about him. He tells Lopmon that he saw his own weaknesses inside him and tells him that Lopmon is far stronger than he has ever been. Lopmon is happy that Shuuji was finally nice to him, with Shuuji stating that he wants to be able to protect everyone and become someone that Lopmon could be proud of. Lopmon begins to evolve, with Shuuji thinking this was Lopmon about to die and that he needs to heal him though instead Lopmon evolves to Turuiemon and joins the battle. Having seen Shuuji's new resolve, Takuma states that he too has the desire to save and protect and desires more power so that he can get revenge on the evil Kemonogami for what they had tried to do this Shuuji. This causes Agumon to warp evolve to Ultimate, with Turuiemon and Agumon's evolution adding enough fire power for the children to defeat MegaSeadramon. Shocked at MegaSeadramon having lost, Arukenimon runs away.

When Takuma and his friends arrive, Jijimon lets them into the throne room and the group try to get their friends to safety as the fog was closing in on the amusement park.

As the group try to leave, the Kenzoku return to the amusement park with bigger numbers to finish the job and are able to break into the throne room. The children fight them, and during the battle Takuma is able to get through to Miyuki for a few seconds by mentioning their promise to save the world and the fact that her brother wont be safe if she destroys it. Wanting to save Miyuki, their friends, and also the world, Takuma's desire causes Agumon to warp evolve to WarGreymon. The children are able to defeat all the Kenzoku though Takuma's wish for no one else to die doesn't come true, as Master summons more Kenzoku to replace them with Jijimon sacrificing himself to allow the children retreat.

This happens in the truthful route if Takuma's moral karma is highest before fighting Baihumon.

When the children go to the amusement park to talk to Jijimon in the hopes he could help them remove Master's brainwashing of Miyuki Minase, the Kenzoku attack the amusement park. The children had found Jijimon and the others barricaded in the throne room and had joined them, but as they talk to Jijimon, the Kenzoku try to break down the barrier to get to them. Miu Shinonome remembers about the trap door that leads to the prison and has the group go into it. As the fight continues, Byakko Ghost shows up and tells Baihumon that's enough and that the children had already earned their trust. He tells them about how he and his friends were sent to the alternate world and ended up becoming partnered to the Sovereign Monsters and that their friend Haruchika Minase was Master. Having accepted the children, they tell them to track down the other three and convince them as well with them giving Labramon the power to evolve to Baihumon as well so that they can use his power to defeat Haruchika. The group split up, with Takuma and Agumon running in to help Miu Shinonome and Kaito Shinonome who were overwhelmed with the amount of Kenzoku they were fighting. Takuma, not wanting to see any more of his friends die, swears he will save them with this causing Agumon to warp evolve to Dinorexmon. Dinorexmon helps the others defeat most of the Kenzoku however Takuma's wish doesn't come true as a Kenzoku pretends to be an injured friend of Miu's and calls out for her to help save it. When she runs in to try and save it, it kills her. Miu's death causes Syakomon to cease to exist with Kaito trying to run into the fog after her. The others restrain him and take him away to stop him from dying as well, with Kaito refusing to believe she had died despite Syakomon's death proving it was the case.
