The Agents are a group of digital humanoids that created the Tags, Crests, and Digivices. They also cared for the Digi-Eggs that would hatch into the DigiDestined's Digimon. When Piedmon learned of this, he assembled a force of Guardromon and Mekanorimon and attacked their hideout, killing almost all of them except for Gennai, who escaped with the Digi-Eggs and Digivices, except for Gatomon's.
