Synopsis[]
Tagiru, Mikey, and Ewan are invited to an event on a certain island where the strongest and most experienced Digimon Hunters can hunt a powerful Digimon. When the event starts, they enter the forests in search of the powerful Digimon that lurks there, Volcdramon. Mikey and the others try to Hunt him, but the intense heat he unleashes makes it a difficult battle. Then, someone who didn't enter the event joins in! Who could he be?!

Animation errors
- When Tagiru looks at his Collection, Kotemon and Fugamon are missing and Blossomon has the normal coloration of it's species rather than the correct pink petals.
- When Tagiru gets excited about Hunting Volcdramon, Dobermon is drawn to be looking backward at him, although Tagiru's knee is layered over Dobermon.
- When Tagiru and the others are speaking to the Old Man after defeating Volcdramon, MetalGreymon's helmet and upper horn are miscolored.

Digimon references
- When Xros Heart enters the building where the Hunters are gathering, Ryouma is playing a "TOHWAY" piano. The brand name is a pun on "Toei", who produces the Digimon anime.
- The title card of the episode shows the main protagonists of the previous seasons, Tai, Davis, Takato, Takuya, and Marcus. Near the end of the episode, Tai, Davis, Takato, Takuya, and Marcus all make a silhouetted cameo alongside their Digimon on the Old Clock Shop Man's boat.
Miscellaneous trivia
- This is the first episode to feature all of the non-shadowed characters from the opening.
- Tai was going to have a speaking role but it got removed for time.[citation needed]
- Similar to what Shoutmon started doing in "Tagiru's Gotten Soft!? Gumdramon's Big Pinch!!", MetalGreymon shouts "MetalGreymon Super-Evolution! Super-Evolve! ZekeGreymon!" when he digivolves.
- The commercial break ends with a shot of Mikey Kudo and Shoutmon.
- In one of the main protagonists' room, one of the posters seen depict what appear to be the titular protagonists of the Super Sentai series Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger (also known as Power Rangers Super Megaforce in the US).
