After not being allowed to participate in a Digimon tournament, The D-1 Grand Prix, due to his Digimon not being recognized, Tai receives a special message from MagnaAngemon. Arriving in the Digital World Tai meets his partner, Zeromaru, and Gabo, a Gabumon who is a messenger of sorts for MagnaAngemon. Defeating a Tortomon using a strategy made up by Tai, the three make their way towards Lord MagnaAngemon's castle.

- When Tai isn't allowed to enter the D-1 Grand prix because Veedramon wasn't programmed in the game, a boy similar to Shin'ichirou Jōsaki from C'mon Digimon: The capering monster BUN tells him they can't have him playing with his trick monster. Later, when Tai checks his Digimon Pendulum to see if it isn't broken, a boy similar to one of Kentarou Kamon's classmates is next to him.
