Digimon Adventure:

What would be if digimon adventure 02 would be the sequel of Digimon adventure (2020), but if the generations like tamers, frontier, data squad and fusion can have their reboots? Have ever wonder about that?

Anime News Network has announced that Adventure 2020 will get an English dub, with Zeno Robinson voicing Taichi and Ben Diskin voicing Agumon.

I had a small glimmer of hope Episode 66 would be series finale of Adventure 2020 and Negamon would be defeated there, especially given the title. But now there's an Episode 67? They originally said it'd be 64 episodes.

At this point I'm going to stop keeping track. Even if Negamon is defeated in Episode 66 tomorrow, another will simply take his place. It's good that they're not keeping the same main villain in an endless battle but if they're going to keep going, at least divide it into seasons, each of which could be the final if someone either wants to stop or you cancel the next season.

Even Fusion didn't go this long, except in Japanese version, and then it was divided into three seasons.

Is it going to get a final episode? Why do they keep making each episode seem like it'll be the last and then reveal another, untitled?

Besides, even if it does get a final episode, it's likely not getting dubbed, and if it does, not within my lifetime...

And with this episode (hopefully) is sure to be the big reveal of the final antagonist, the one the Soundbirdmon work for. (Unless that's already been revealed and wikipedia's summaries don't say it?)

Hopefully they wrap up this arc and defeat that villain to conclude the series. After Devimon and Millenniumon I have faith in them.

Less faith do I have in it getting dubbed within my lifetime though, as it took four years for Fusion to get dubbed and Season 3 didn't even get dubbed. I know I can always watch them in Japanese but I always prefer dubs.

Any last-minute guesses on who this villain is going to be?

(Spoilers if you haven't kept up to date with Adventure 2020 yet)

I've been a bit preoccupied with other stuff for a while but yesterday I checked the list of episodes again.

And, Episode 50, they defeated Millenniumon.

But there's, like, 14 episodes left, room for one more arc with a third, and potentially final antagonist. Who do you think that will be?

Somehow I find it unlikely to be Etemon - he doesn't seem the type for such a role.

Myotismon? That's always a possibility, he's one of the most iconic villains of original series and his arc was the longest, and they even had him return as the true main villain of Adventure 02. If Kari's already in there, of course, they won't be doing the "search for the eighth Digidestined" arc with him, but they can think of something.

Or Apocalymon, the overarching antagonist of the original series?

Maybe Lucemon, the overarching antagonist of Frontier who is pretty much the devil (I'm sure he was named after Lucifer too)?

Or are they going to use King Drasil again?

Probably not Lord Bagra/Bagramon, even though they've reused Fusion Digimon like Splashmon, I get the feeling it wasn't popular enough to use its main villain as Adventure 2020's final antagonist.

Or, do you think they'll pull something similar to Adventure, where, after the fourth arc (Dark Masters), they bring in the final antagonist, Apocalymon, for the last two episodes? (But from the description there was a big war with Millenniumon so sounds like he's the Apocalymon/MaloMyotismon/D-Reaper/Lucemon/Kurata/Bagra of the series, and, like Kurata, is defeated before the final arc. So where do they go from here?)

(Side note - I only just now found out Sakkakumon's Japanese name was Sephirothmon!)

I do. From what I can tell and the clips I've seen it sounds interesting and awesome.

Reboot of original series with original Digidestined and their Digimon, but a different story and, aside from Devimon, a new enemy, and a lot of their opponents are originally from other universes too like Mephistomon and Splashmon.

Sadly though they take 3 years to get dubbed, and I doubt I'll still be around then.

Now I really hope it gets dubbed and they don't take several years for it like Fusion, because this guy is practically my Japanese clone. He wrote the uncharacteristic epic episodes of POKEMON which even killed off J, Cyrus, and Lysandre, not to mention significant Charizard episodes and episodes portraying Misty as she should be.

If you dislike Pokemon, no need for debate, besides, I still prefer Digimon a great deal. Just saying I know it'll be awesome with Atsuhiro Tomioka writing episodes, if he's able to make Digimon-quality episodes of Pokemon. (Though he didn't write Devimon's death episode... hopefully he gets his chance with the next main villain)

Though he DID write the Dragonball Super episode that permanently revived Frieza, but that kinda had to follow the manga so it was Akira Toriyama who did that and it must've been torture for Atsuhiro to write that. (Fortunately I can ignore Super on the grounds of differing depictions of hell)

Anyway... really hope they start dubbing it shortly after its release and that I live to see it. Already from what little I've seen it looks awesome.

Based on upcoming episode titles and Devimon taking his One-Winged Angel form DoneDevimon, it sounds like Devimon's going down next episode November 15th.

With talk of "Departure for a new continent", does this mean they're doing Etemon next, or will they jump straight to Myotismon, or maybe the Dark Masters? This is roughly the halfway point of the series already.

I mean will Tai and the rest of the digidestined see there digimon partners again sometime aftr the events of this film?
