From what I’ve heard, the focus is exclusively on Tai and Agumon rather than all 8, so that’s a major turnoff for me.
Well, that gives me a reason to stick with the first version. All the kids and Digimon are important, not just Tai and Agumon. I'm not sure why it's being remade in the first place.
I finished and story be a bit of a bummer
With how little information there is on this wiki about the remake, I'm questioning if it actually is possible to watch Digimon Adventure (2020) legally outside of Japan. My answer of "No" is because at this moment it isn't worth going through the trouble of hunting down subbed episodes for this drastically different remake.
If the rumors of it focusing on mostly just Tai & Agumon are actually true, then it's not even worth watching subbed in my opinion. I'm going to wait for the English Dub that may never happen & watch the remake that way. Seasons 1&2 both had the same approach of reserving Stage 6 for only the leader & his rival, while Frontier went further with that flawed mentality. There is no point in remaking Season 1 differently if it is just going to have the philosophy of only Tai & Agumon are important.
I had problems with Sonic Series games only really letting you play as Sonic for the past 13 years. Having a remake of Sonic Adventure that kept the "Just Sonic" mentality would kill my faith in that series. Adventure Tri was exactly what I wanted from Digimon & I can only hope the Sonic Series is lucky enough to get its own Adventure Tri announced soon. As for Digimon, we can only guess when we'll get something Stateside again.
It is if you desprately crave some more Adventure content, but otherwise no. There isnt as much life moments where they just soak. Its mostly all action and battles. Thats my main point with it. The rumurs are somewhat true: they do stick with Tai and Agumon for a big lot but they seem to have been branching out
You can watch them on crunchyroll
I really hope it gets dubbed. It looks and sounds interesting from what I heard.
Also I love the action and battles, it's what I loved about the original series and Fusion. Tamers had more to it of course but still, Episode 9 felt like filler.
What do you think?
